For $240/night for a king sized bed, I expected more…read more The peloton bike and treadmill were broken in the fitness area. The fitness area was so small with everything in there. It felt tight with 2 people. The thermostat on the wall was not working right. Our room was 73 and it would not go below that temperature. The front desk did come to assist, and recommended holding buttons here and there to get it to set at a lower temperature. While the temperature did finally get set to about 69, the air was stuffy. Also, the front desk was not wearing shoes which was odd.... The bed was not comfortable. The front desk had mentioned there was a recent renovation but I do not think the beds were in that renovation. The bed was hard and squeaked. You could feel the springs. The complimentary breakfast was okay but what I would typically expect for what I'm paying. Overall this is Dothan, AL and a room should not cost this much and you not have a working thermostat and a 10+ year old bed.

This hotel is under construction and we knew that when we booked it so we can't be too upset about…read morethe construction noise but it's fairly extreme during the day. It also reduced the parking available at night so don't be the last to get in at night. You may not have a spot. The staff was first rate from the time we showed up until we left. Friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. It's located right on the main drag in Dothan and as such, restaurants, gas and shopping are readily accessible. The breakfast was simple and tasty. Plenty of warm and cold options to choose from. I especially loved their layout of snack items and drinks in their little store. I would gladly return to this hotel. My Diamond member status was oddly never recognized by the staff nor did they have Diamond Member parking. This was odd and the only reason they didn't receive a fifth star.

This Fairfield Inn & Suites is located along I-10 and FL Route 71 at exit 142. If you are heading…read morewest along I-10 to this hotel, it won't be that long after crossing time zones from Eastern to Central. My stay here was on the night of August 24, 2022. Getting to this hotel from I-10 was pretty easy and was easy to find as well. There was ample parking available when we got here, but if the hotel was busier, I think parking may be limited. After getting parked, I went inside to get checked in and get keys for the room and check out the room. The room is your standard room with two queen beds. We headed out to get some dinner before coming back. After getting back from eating, it was time to check out what the hotel had to offer. I started with the lobby area and main entrance. One thing of note was that as soon as you come into the lobby, they did have some type of scent in that area. I don't know if it was to mask something else, but it definitely set off my allergies and gave a low-grade headache, so I tried to limit time in this area. This lobby area has lots of seating there, along with the breakfast area. There is also an area for laundry. Before going outside, there is an exercise room available with various options. Then I made my way outside to check out the pool area. The pool is a nice size and looked good. Although most of the public use areas such as the exercise room, laundry, etc. would require the key card to gain access, this was not the case here on this visit. After checking out the grounds, it was time to get back to the room and start to settle in for the night. One thing that I did notice in the room that certain areas definitely show the age of the hotel, especially in the shower/tub area of the room (room 204). Also, I noticed in the rooms there were very few outlets and USB connections as well. That also lends to the age of the hotel. Another thing of note is that there was only a trash basket in the room. There was no separate recycling available. Now, for the sleeping and such. The beds were very comfortable. I had a really good night's sleep that night, as confirmed by my Fitbit as well. This is definitely an important aspect of a hotel, so this was really good. I was well rested the following morning. I went downstairs a little after 6 am when breakfast was available. Everything was already set up in there. Looking at the options though, on this experience, nothing really appealed to me. Everything was pretty much pre-packaged items. One was ham and the other was sausage, of which neither I am a fan of. I did end up getting some orange juice though and had something else later that morning when we were back on the road. Overall, the hotel covers the bases anyone would look for. The beds were good and there were several things available to do on the property. I was just still not a fan of the lobby area due to that scent they had going that set off allergies and a headache. When it comes to pricing, I know prices for everything have been going up, but I definitely felt that I paid for a suite, even though I only did a regular room with two beds. With limited options in the area, I will still consider coming here again if my travels warrant it.
