What hotel charging $100.00 per night for a room provides 1/3 roll of toilet tissue WITHOUT a 2nd roll in case of an emergency? the room with the bed was cold and the sitting room was very warm. There were a bunch of dead ones too so add the 105+ degree weather and you got yourself a bad odor that lingered in the hotel rooms. The staff here were pretty nice so that one star was for them. My room was on the ground floor so it was fine except there were bugs in my room. It wasn't bad compared with my coworkers' rooms which had grasshoppers in them. Lucky for me that annoying flies and what looked like a small beetle instead of grasshoppers. The floor felt really dirty to me and it almost felt like it was damp but it wasn't. It felt like my feet were so dirty just walking around my room. The complimentary breakfast was from 6am to 10am and it was complimentary for a reason. The choices were limited not to mention the eggs and what appeared to be sausage had only enough for one person. If the bug problem was eliminated, the rooms were cleaned better, and breakfast was better then this would be a decent place to stay at.

We reserved a room with a credit card 3 hours before our expected arrival. 30 minutes later our cars tire monitor showed a low tire. It was after 6 pm on Sunday. There weren't any repair stations open anywhere near our location even though we were in south Ft Worth. Lots of closed places. Luckily we pulled into a Motel 6 parking lot and were basically stuck there until Monday morning. We couldn't go that far on the 50 mph spare. I called the Days Inn and they happily cancelled our reservation and wished us luck with the tire repair. It took four tries to get through to an actual person. Their automated system needs work so I deducted a star.

The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and gave us room 214 which recently had a new A/C installed and provided us a cool 68 degree stay. I did notice that at the rear of the front office they had an ice machine available for guests; but to my dismay I witnessed a woman drive up and get herself a bucket full of ice and then drive away. About 30 minutes after checking in , we received a courtesy call from the front desk asking if they could do anything for us. I haven't experienced that in years! Although we were right off the highway, the construction of the room provided us with a good night's sleep! Our bathroom was very nice with a large back lit mirror and a tub with a shower curtain that bowed outward to provide the user with a little extra space. Getting out of the shower was a little awkward as there was no support handle to grab onto either inside the shower or on the wall. Overall, a very nice stay with a Dairy Queen down the road a piece and a Cefco convenience store across the street with a small BBQ joint next door. We will definitely be back!

Overall we loved our stay, we loved the local merchants and restaurants and loved the antique stores. Highly recommend this quiet getaway.
