The moment we pulled in, we were greeted by the store's giant chicken statue standing proudly out front. Of course, we had to take a photo with it--it was too fun to pass up. We stopped in for drinks and a bathroom break and decided to sign up for the Royal Farms rewards app so we can earn points whenever we're back in the area. The store itself was clean, well-organized, and overall a really pleasant place to visit. The customer service we encountered was friendly and welcoming, which made the quick stop even better. When driving from the DMV it feels like the right thing to do to avoid all those highway backups, but in reality, it's not good for your bladder. I was nearing bursting on a stretch of road and was ready to pull over at the first gas station that I saw. At that point, I had no idea where I was or how far I had gotten. I had tuned out the GPS because my eyes were glued to the road to find a bathroom. I finally came out of a tree lined stretch of road and saw the illumination of a gas station. Wawa. Not necessarily my first choice, but I was happy to see the awning once around the trees. Pulled in, parked, nearly ran inside straight to the restroom. Now the one thing that all Wawas seem to lack is their cleanliness of their facilities. I don't know what people do, or don't do, in these restrooms, but they look like the ones you would find in a horror movie. Ones where they have been trashed beyond comprehension. Like how is it that the walls have paint rubbed off of it. All you need is flickering lights and you're set to be the next victim in the upcoming Wawa horror movie. Listen, even though the facilities were not presentable, I still needed to use them. All that horror makeup of the facilities faded away as my bladder returned to E. Outside the facilities, this isn't a bad Wawa. They still do have a lot to offer. I'm still not happy with their food, but I do like the swift convenience offered at the counter. Grab a drink, go to the counter, ask for an item and I was outside. With a lot of my car rides back home I always need to stretch my legs before I get back in the car. I was able to take in a phone call at the same time. While outside, I noticed that this place wasn't very busy this time of day, very early in the morning. If only that could be the case all the time.

If you are not familiar with Sheetz, it is a full-service gas station, convenience store, fast food restaurant, etc... This location offers made-to-order and prepared foods in addition to everything you would expect to find in a convenience store. You can choose to dine in or take your food to go. They also offer coffee, soft drinks, snacks, beer and wine, lottery tickets, gasoline and much more. If you are passing through Frederick, Maryland, it is an ideal stop off of Interstate 270 for a traveler in need of fuel or a bite to eat or a restroom break. They have a great abundance of fuel pumps offering three grades of gasoline as well as diesel fuel and charging stations for electric vehicles. Prices are competitive. Sheetz stores are located in Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia with plans to expand into Michigan in the near future. They are open 24 hours and offer free Wi-Fi so you can always depend on them to take care of your travelling needs no matter when you stop in.

I like how this location is nestled in there. When I say that, I mean the road on the back side of the building. That road is welcoming compared to the main stretch that this faces. After being at another location of the birthplace of Sheetz and coming upon a location that still had fresh brewed iced tea I was still in hopes that not all locations switched over to the dispenser. However, I was not in luck at this location. I was greeted by that disgusting Gold Peak dispenser again. I did end up grabbing some food to go home on. Even if it was without their sweet nectar. But back to the location, this made for an easy off/on the highway for me. Or, if I wanted to waste more time, I could take the backroads from here to make it home.
