Jerry's Rogue River Museum and Gift Shop are in a building near the boarding area for the fantastic 5-star Jerry's Rogue Jets tours. Both the museum and gift shop are a-ok though neither is really amazing either. We came for the museum and it was a quick distraction with a couple rooms decorated with photographs, infographics, and stuffed-animal displays about the fish, birds, wildlife, and history of the Rogue River. Kudos to those that invested the time and energy to put the exhibits together. Rounding up to a generous 4 stars because there probably aren't many other free options for quickly learning a bit about the history of the area.

There is a terrific selection of gift items, household decorations, jewelry (I purchased 3 pieces), specialty foods, and much more, all at very reasonable prices. Tammy has been in this business for a long time and it really shows in the detailed selection of her merchandise and also in it's presentation throughout the store. The shop organized by theme and color which made it easier for us to see all that was offered, that would fit perfectly into our new home, Attached to the gift store is a bead shop. I originally stopped here to see if a couple of pieces of costume jewelry (that I had been carrying around in my purse for over a year!), could be repaired. The owner of the bead shop was not available, so Tammy graciously offered to fill in - she fixed my 3 necklaces for me, for free - that's old fashioned, GREAT customer service!!! This is our third trip to Brookings for vacation and I'm only sorry that it was our first time to this store. When we come back next year, rest assured that we will make a special trip to stop by Feather Your Nest - it truly is a "can't miss" shop so be sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed!

I also bought some truffles that are sourced from Le Grand confectionary, which is located in Sacramento, CA. They were very tasty as well. Mmmmmm... chocolate! Customer service was sweet, helpful, kind, and welcoming. I took a few photos and one of the shop associates joked with me, "We have a rule - if you take a picture of something, you have to buy it." I replied, "Uh oh! I'm in trouble now!" Ha. There is a wide variety of other merchandise for sale here other than fresh flowers and fudge. This cute store features plenty of ocean / beach themed merch, lots of yummy-looking mustards and dressings, and much, much more. I want to thank all of my wonderful yelp friends who have been supporting me with votes and likes on my road trip. I really appreciate you. I promise to return the favor after I return home on May 7! I haven't been on a trip with my brother in over 3 years until now, and we usually take one or two trips per year together, so it's amazing to have this quality family bonding time with him after so long. We ordered a red velvet truffle, a milk chocolate caramel/marshmallow bar, rocky road fudge, Heath fudge, snickers fudge & 2 hand fulls of salt water taffy along with the jar of sweet honey mustard. The absence of photos of the sweets is indicative of how good they were & the fact that unfortunately our snickers fudge didn't make it into our box but we didn't catch it until we were too far away to turn back & grab it. The service was spectacular. She gave us several suggestions of sites to see on our way home including seals that were out & about & a wind surfing competition. I love little shops like this that are run by people who give you that "part of the family" feeling. Will definitely revisit & hopefully get to try that snickers fudge!
