My experience has been mixed but ultimately bottom line. Its hard to build trust with a therapist…read morethat is condescending and doesn't respect my values. I dont get my therapist and her steps. Definitely have a new one that works with helping me process vs laugh and poke fun in inappropriate times. I had this thought over the course of 5 months. I figured its my first therapist and i need to be open minded. Granted their job is difficult...i have no sympathy really especially with her education. The last secession just sealed it for me. I wouldn't say summits edge is horrible but my experience was a waste of money. I felt like a case study that is applying the same techniques that anyone would. It could be cultural or maybe just the age of therapist and lacking empathetic ability. Definitely try others before committing to one. are we in the business of fixing everything? or accepting parts. its like hiring a lawyer who doesnt believe you. step 1. rip down my walls or their percieved idea of my walls. 2. ask flippant and contrary questions that give "thought" 3.pretend to really understand 4. wait till patient ask your opinion 5.build them up 6. rip them down again i increase confusion and anxiety after each secssion. i rather just watch ted talks..read books than to hear the same information..therapy must must be more than this. why pay to be manipulated. I need a honest ..yet soft therapist to pricess years of repressed feelings. not write ot off and tell me "but adults you can make decisions " no shit. she barely skim yhe surface of my entirety. im found another therapist that comes highly recommended and much more experienced by age..she gave me my first secssion and such a drastic vibe. Basic info below: -they took my bcbs ppo. my upfront payment was $25 -sometimes sessions are cut down by 15 minutes vs the full hour. -friendly staff -free coffee and snacks -nice ambiance -plenty parking -easy online appointment setting or phone

I have decided that Summits Edge is not a safe place…read more Last week, I felt belittled and shamed because my son and I were 30 minutes late to an hour-long appointment. Kelly, the person at the front desk met my son and me in the lobby and told us that he couldn't be seen because we were over 20 minutes late. She called me disrespectful and shamed me for not remembering that the 20-minute rule was in the Informed Consent Form. The therapist was not helpful either, he added to my already stressed-out state by saying his hands were tied. The practice handled the whole situation poorly. The staff could have called at 2:10 or 2:20 and told me that we missed the appt and needed to reschedule. The therapist could have invited us back to his office to chill a bit before going back out into traffic. Kelly could have been kind. To add insult to injury, I paid $125 for the experience. The whole experience was unkind, punitive, and completely unnecessary.
