So last February, I took a regrettable chance and got Lasik. Prior to my surgery, I was near sighted and had high hopes of know longer having the burden of glasses. I knew going into this that , even after Lasik, one could still have to wear reading glasses and that dry eye could also be an issue. What I didn't expect was for my sight to decline so quickly and receive absolutely no support when I would visit for my monthly check ups. Not only am I now unable to see far away but also up close, during the night, whenever it snows or rains or to do the fine detailing that is required for my job. These were not issues prior and I can't express enough how much I regret getting Lasik. During my consultation, I met Dr. Wohl who also did my surgery. I found him to be charismatic, knowledgeable and polite. He answered all of my questions and was the only reason I reconsidered going back to Roholt (the woman who did my consultation exam was so rude I didn't want to use Roholt). Unfortunately, during my surgery Dr. Wohl was the polar opposite. If I could've gotten up and left during the procedure, I would have! I was nervous & the amount of volume wasn't enough to help relax me. My right eye went smoothly and as expected- my left eye was very painful and I knew something wasn't right. This added to my nervousness and the shaking increased. I know that moving around during this can cause a flood of unwanted problems but I honestly couldn't stop my body; it just really hurt! Dr. Wohl grew very impatient and gave me a few minutes to try to collect myself but his tone of voice said it all...one of the assistants tried to soothe me and held my hand while another said encouraging words. For that I am extremely thankful. Unfortunately, when attempting my eye again the pain increased and I know I moved. Dr. Wohl was clearly angry when I said it hurt and kept telling me it was almost over. The assistant suggested more numbing drops and this seemed to increase his displeasure. She reached to put them in and he swatted at her hand- this royally p*ssed me off. You don't touch someone! You don't touch anyone-ever! I just wanted to punch him and leave. This only added to my body's response and unintentional movement. He eventually let her add more drops but they didn't help. After this, I was hoping I'd never have to have any corrections again but that was not the result. Over the course of 3 to 4 months, I felt as if my vision was better with glasses & my eyes constantly hurt after Lasik and expressed this at every single visit. Dr. Wohl just kept telling me to give my eyes time to adjust...leading to painful dry eye in both eyes and blurred vision in my left. We agreed to a treatment routine of using drops every two hours without success. Eventually he installed eye plugs in addition to the drops; unsuccessful. This was starting to cause trouble for me at work as I had been reprimanded by management for being too slow & my work lacking in it's usual precision and quality. I explained that I couldn't see, I even brought in a picture to show the assistant and Dr. Wohl just how difficult it is to see the lines cut in the foam I work with and was repeatably told to wait it out. Eventually, I met Dr. Roholt who noticed I had a pearl of oil under my lens that needed to be irrigated. Dr. Celmer did the procure - she was a fantastic! I requested extra eye numbing drops beforehand and was not disappointed. The process went as it should and I saw a huge improvement in both of my eyes even though the left one was fixed. This lasted about 2 weeks- then back to square one...I have been to my monthly check ups , I've used to eye drops as instructed- even adding gel drops at night, sunglasses and goggles at work...still can't see clearly. All of my visits after this have been with Dr. Celmer and I hate to say that I've lost my patience with her as well. I was told it's just dry eye and to wait it out...after my last visit in December (only to be told that my eyes had gotten worse and my condition was concerning but let's monitor it). Waiting around clearly isn't the answer as the results are the same from February. Tired of getting the run around, I went and got a second opinion at Glainville , Hussing & Fath in Kent. I have an astigmatism...had to meet with NOES and am now on meds,etc... Why is it that not one of the 3 doctors at Roholt ever took me seriously, offered solutions other than useless drops or made any effort to correct my sight?! Do not go here!!! read more

I actually went to Roholt Vision for a specific issue. Very busy office and several doctors. I was in the optical business for over 50 years so I was impressed with how they treated their patients . I had two cataract surgeries. Dr. Meagan Celmer did my left eye and I would not recommend. As a matter of fact, I refused to have her do the other eye. After she was done with me, my eyelid drooped and I had dense floaters--looks like I am walking through a cloud of nats to this day. At the time I had that surgery, the staff at the surgery center said that she was about 2 hours ahead of schedule--this was about noon. My eye was not fully dilatated the way then wanted and they proceeded to squirt stuff in my eye, not instill, but squirt like with a harsh stream and rushed me into surgery. When I went in the next day as a follow up, staff was rude when I told them I couldn't see well. read more

Doesn't get any better than Dr Roholt. Cataract surgery went perfectly. 10 stars. Only place I will go.

A BIG thumbs down. BEWARE. Toric lens implant rotated which required another surgery by Roholt. After that surgery an infection developed that was diagnosed as endophthalmitis, a rare inflammation that is a medical emergency. I had to have three shots injected into my eyeball to prevent me from going blind in that eye. As a result of that I've got annoying floaters and flashing lights in my peripheral vision. After two eyeglass prescriptions that created warped vision in my unoperated eye, the optometrist in Roholt's office still refused to remove the astigmatism correction from my third prescription which left me with a pair of useless eyeglasses. And now I've learned from another doctor that I don't even have astigmatism in that eye. Oh, and I just discovered that Roholt employees delete all Google reviews except 5 star reviews from his website. DOUBLE BEWARE. read more

The service and attention to detail is top notch! I couldn't have made a better decision than to have LASIK. Everyone, from the receptionists to the assistants and on to the doctors were very helpful and above all very nice. They answered any all questions i had about the procedure and made sure i was comfortable with everything prior to having it done. I had a great experience with Dr. Roholt for my LASIK procedure. After a lifetime of being terrorized by contacts that bothered my eyes and dry eye issues, I decided to make the jump to LASIK after consulting with my optometrist who suggested I would be a perfect candidate, even though both eyes had astigmatism. A series of visits were set up with RVI and my optometrist to perform the necessary tests to ensure I was a good candidate and choose the best procedure for my eyes. A visit with Dr. Roholt went over the basics of the various options and he talked through why this LASIK procedure would be best for me and laid out the possible side effects/issues that may arise following the surgery. There was a lot of "prep work"leading up to the day of surgery that was pretty clearly outlined with a care plan and appropriate eye drops were prescribed. To get to the good stuff, on the day of surgery, I walked in at 9am and walked out being able to see pretty clearly at 10am. I even played golf the next day! There was some "lens flares" with cars at night for about 2 weeks, but this subsided as Dr. Roholt suggested. It was a very methodical, "well rehearsed" procedure. Though it seemed a little "turnstile" with so many patients coming through there on surgery day, I was given very good care. I was really freaking out until the valium kicked in ;) but the staff really helped to relax me and guide me through the procedure. The procedure was quite surreal as you literally see your eye being sliced open, lens removed and then you stare into a laser for a few seconds! Then it's shades of red and green like looking into a supernova.....But it was as quick as is humanly possible and just like that I was walking out of the operating room able to see without glasses/contacts for the first time! I now have even better than 20/15 vision! My optometrist was even pretty impressed with my results. Additionally, with the care suggested by Dr. Roholt my dry eye symptoms have cleared up after about 3 months. It was expensive, but worth every penny to me. I would definitely recommend Dr. Roholt and the RVI for a LASIK procedure. read more

I had such a great experience with Dr. Celmer and her staff yesterday during my Lasik procedure. The team was very informative during the entire process. The surgery room was very relax with music playing in the background. The doctor and the team members seems very confident in their work. I did not experience any discomfort with the procedure. I cannot thank Dr. Celmer and her team enough for giving me my vision back. I wore glasses for 22 years and this morning I woke up not needing any sort of corrective lenses.
