After putting off the idea of having my wisdom teeth removed for several years (I had gone to two different dentists and both recommended it) I am so glad I waited as it led me to DR. Hernandez! The treatment I received with DR. Hernandez and his office staff, I must say, was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in for my initial consultation, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff at the office were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure to answer all of my questions and ease any concerns I had about the upcoming procedure. What really stood out to me was the patience and thoroughness with which the doctor explained the entire process to me during that first visit. It was evident that they truly cared about ensuring I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. As the day of my surgery approached, I appreciated having been proactive in requesting a copy of the instructions at the initial visit- due to different conflicts, I had to reschedule my procedure 2 or 3 times ( I can't remember) so from that initial consult to the date of the procedure was well over 4 months. This was the first time I was undergoing any sort of procedure, so for my own wellbeing, I am glad I requested the paperwork at that first visit! While the pre-op instructions provided the night before were minimal, having the additional guidance ensured I was well-prepared for the big day. On the day of the surgery, everything went smoothly, thanks to the professionalism and expertise of the entire team. I was pleasantly surprised by how little discomfort I experienced afterward, thanks to the adequate pain control measures put in place. My follow-up appointment a week later further solidified my positive impression of the office. I was informed upfront about the risk of infection, particularly in the lower teeth, and advised on what symptoms to watch out for. Unfortunately, I did develop an infection a week later, but the response from the office was swift and efficient. They offered me a same-day visit, although I had a scheduling conflict and went in the next morning instead. The quick incision and drainage procedure had me in and out of the office in under 30 minutes, with clear instructions on how to care for the site afterward. Since then, my recovery has been smooth sailing, and I couldn't be happier with the care I received at this office. I would highly recommend anyone in need of oral surgery to consider this practice for their exceptional care and professionalism. Dr Hernandez did a sedative tooth extraction. I was so happy I found him. After going to a few other sedation dentists for consults, I felt comfortable around him and it reduces anxiety knowing what to expect. He took the time to explain every detail which greatly reduced my anxiety. His office staff and assistants are great too! If you have to get major work done, I highly recommend him. He even gave me a referral to my new dentist Dr Dixon and I was very satisfied with the work both of these professionals have done. They get you in and out and actually are considerate of their patient's time and experience unlike many other dentists I've been to. I just got my wisdom teeth out yesterday morning and I feel amazing! The process was so quick, and within an hour and a half I woke up from surgery and was wheelchaired to my boyfriends car. I was a little late due to unexpected traffic- and the staff was so warm and friendly. Post surgery: I got home and lay lowed all day, but didn't feel a lick of nausea (like I normally do from anesthesia) I was up and moving within 4 hours. Changing my own gauze and adding ice. I had almost 0 swelling or pain by the end of the day. The day after: I woke up and removed the gauze - thankfully no more bleeding. I'm in absolutely no pain at all and look almost 100% normal (no swelling or bruising at all). I couldn't be happier with the outcome and the experience! I was skeptical when moving to South Florida- not having any primary drs or dentist in the area because I just got here. I was in so much pain from my wisdom teeth coming in. I did my yelp research and gave this guy a shot. I went in for my consultation on a Friday and he had me booked for surgery the following Friday!! I have never in my life written a review for a doctor/surgeon, but Dr. Hernandez and his entire staff deserve that and much more. I was referred to Dr. Hernandez by my periodontist.. I had just gotten a gum graft, and BAM! all 4 of my wisdom teeth decided to flare up at the same time, causing extreme gum swelling, pain, and agonizing jaw pain... needless to say, I was absolutely miserable and couldn't even get the energy to want to get out of bed. Yordy gave me an appointment right away and that was the beginning of my relief. Upon entering the office, I felt welcomed and cared about and it made a world of a difference being that I was borderline depressed from the pain. The assistant in black (didn't get her name) was the SWEETEST person and I could tell that I mattered to her. Once I met Dr. Hernandez, I knew I was in the best of hands. He is HUGE, reminded me of the Hulk lol, but wow he really knows how to put his patients at ease and make them feel comfortable. I love how Dr. Hernandez makes it a point to 1) LISTEN 2) educate his patients and 3) make sure that all of your questions are answered. When I asked him about taking my normal medications after surgery, he already had my medicines memorized (from looking at my history before meeting me).. that made me feel great because I knew he paid attention to detail. The surgery was 2 days later and it was smooth sailing. I arrived, went under IV sedation (I don't even remember knocking out lol), then woke up less than an hour later, with ZERO discomfort. My follow up was scheduled for a week later and I can 100% honestly tell you I had ZERO PAIN and ZERO SWELLING!!!!! None of my friends believed me because we all know about the infamous "chipmunk face" after wisdom teeth extractions.. Well, they've all been going to the wrong surgeon. Dr. Hernandez was amazing! I had my bottom 2 removed back in high school but still had to have the top extracted. I was able to get an appointment last minute, the staff were very friendly and the initial visit as well as the procedure were very quick. Dr. Hernandez promised me the top would be an easy process with minimum pain and it was exactly that. He prescribe antibiotics and pain meds after but I was feeling little to no pain the night of the surgery and ever since. I remember getting the bottom removed back in high school which was a lengthy process and the recovery was difficult but this has been easy thus far. read more

Me, with a referral to have a #2 molar removed, with Dr. Roland Hernandez - Oral and Maxillofacial - I called and made an appointment, THEY SENT a link to my phone, and then I filled out the paperwork online. I RECEIVED an email confirming the address and time of my appointment... *The date of the appointment arrived, I arrived to remove tooth #2. I walked over and saw the receptionist, gave her my photo ID and signed the documents. - I had a 3D x-ray - I was escorted to a room. - When I walked in I noticed my name on a board that said "Welcome Almida"- wow-- "my name and a smiley face"-- kool; I told myself. Then Dr. Roland Hernández came, we talked, he explained what he sees on the X-ray and I asked him all the questions. Dr. Roland was great and he explained my options and the length of the procedure. I was impressed, A very sincere and concrete man. I accept the process for extraction. From the initial consult, where his expertise and knowledge put me at ease through the procedure, which with IV sedation was painless. I woke up and wondered when they were going to get started. I had no swelling and only minimal discomfort, which is to be expected. I had to have a couple of follow up visits and the staff worked me in without a problem. I would leave zero stars if possible. This dentist is a disgrace and should not be in practice. He collects payment upfront so that he can do whatever he wants to you during the procedure. He claimed that I moved when the drill went on, threw the drill on the table and stormed out of the room. He literally left me sitting there, gave me no post-op instructions or prescription. His assistant could see he was in a bad mood and she refused to give me the suction to suction out my mouth and told me to swallow it. This is a very low class operation and I don't care how many great credentials you may have if you treat patients like garbage. I think this dentist needs mental help the way he did a complete 180 when he claimed I moved and I honestly was not moving. He seemed nice at first but a little creepy. Furthermore, many patients don't enjoy the sound of the drill, which as a dentist he needs to deal with. Now my regular dentist needs to finish the job he started and refused to finish. Also he doesn't wear a mask and his staff doesn't either, despite rising Covid and dentists should be wearing masks regardless to keep patients safe. Absolutely disgusting. read more

My daughter needed her last two wisdom teeth extracted. Dr. Hernandez was done in moments it was amazing.

I've known that I've needed to get my wisdom teeth pulled, but wanted to put it off until after the school year during a winter break or something. When pericoronitis flared up, I knew it would have to be sooner. I began scouting oral surgeons who could get the job done. Not a big yelp user at all, so finding a doctor off of yelp was not expected. I was drawn to Dr. Hernandez because of the ratings 5/5 and reviews...no pain...professionalism...thorough...I was in love. It was right before Hurricane Irma and every doctor's office was closing around me. Not Dr. Hernandez. While the shutters were up, I called and they said I could come right over right then and there as I was in pain. They took x-rays immediately and brought me up to speed with my condition by having me watch an informative video about wisdom teeth, their complications, extraction, and extraction complications. He then came in and explained to me what needed to be done and was open for ANY questions I could have had while going over my x-ray with me. We made an appt for after the storm, but I was prescribed painkillers, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories to help cope! They had me watch another video to help me understand what was expected of my pre-surgery. The day of surgery I was a bit nervous, but he calmed me...he and his lovely staff. Before I knew it I was waking up from surgery and my lower wisdom teeth were removed! They gave me a post-surgery goodie bag of a cold compress, directions, dos and don'ts as well as checking up on me that night and every few days before my one week checkup. He is also available to patients 24/7 on his cell phone for any questions or concerns which I LOVED. No pain at all with the exception of the characteristic swelling which is to be expected in any case. The least I could do is return the favor and provide a review to help someone else find him! I gave Dr. Hernandez's office a deposit equaling one-third of the total amount due for an implant procedure 8 weeks prior to. I was called and asked for the balance due less than a week prior to the procedure, which I ignored after rereading my treatment plan that stated payment is due when services are rendered. Fast-forward to today's appointment that never happened because I tried to pay my balance due with a check written on my business account. They don't take checks. I told them they should make sure patients know that. My checking account recently had fraud and I don't have a replacement debit card yet and I no longer use credit. So what is my alternative? The next thing I know, I'm being ushered into an office and am told by the doctor that they "did me a favor" by not collecting the balance due before today's appointment. That's when I said they really didn't do me a favor because they still called for payment; I just ignored them. At this point, I was told that we clearly aren't a "good fit" and would I like my money refunded and a referral to another office. Ok fine. Ready to hear how they are going to refund my money? I'd been having on and off inflammation of a wisdom tooth, so I scheduled an appointment with the doctor to get his opinion; as I suspected, it needed to come out. The doctor gave me a choice of getting it done right then under local, or coming back at a later date and/or using IV. After the initial shock of the proposition, I realized it was best to get it over with because if I had time to think about it I'd be dreading it right up until the appointment. It all happened so fast I had no time to worry. And true to their word, not one iota of pain (even afterwards). First, a painless shot to numb. Then, less than 1 minute to do the total removal job. When he turned out the light and said it was done I was gobsmacked (I figured he'd only just started what would be a long process). I'd never go anywhere else to get a wisdom tooth cut out. I will be rating each visit, so this is for the initial consultation. The office is clean and modern. The staff are very pleasant. I have a mortal fear of dentists and haven't been to one in many years. 3 of my upper molars are gone from previous extractions, a few are rotting from old fillings that I didn't have changed. One of these split and was infected. Time to have it pulled. I chose Dr. Hernandez because he offers IV sedation. They were also able to get me into the office right away. I explained about my fear to everyone in the office and everyone assured me they would take good care of me. Dr. Hernandez explained a couple options involving pulling anywhere form 1-3 teeth and hooking me up with a dentist so I can save the rest of the teeth. He has such a soothing voice! I will have the first one removed early next week. He have me a week's worth of a strong antibiotic and some pain pills. I'm actually feeling ok about returning to his office...something that is very hard for me. If my subsequent visits go as smoothly as the first visit, I will be a happy patient. I've been avoiding my dreaded wisdom teeth for a few years now... little to say, that didn't help my case AT ALL. Having waited so long, this made my teeth extremely difficult to extract, which brought several "risk factors". For weeks I sought out an oral surgeon. Some were either afraid to do the procedure, or wanted to charge me an arm and a leg due to the difficulty level. Luckily I came across Dr. Hernandez's office, with a staff who welcomed me to get a same day consultation. The ladies of the office are warm, efficient, and very helpful in creating appointment schedules with me in mind. Dr. Hernandez was quite a sight I must say (huge with big hands), but that made it all the more interesting lol. He had a great sense of humor, professionalism, and gave me comfort knowing that my extraction would be tough. This doctor does not play around!! Talk about in and out!! Dr. Hernandez has got to be the best around when it comes to getting wisdom teeth removed! I found him when researching a place for my boyfriend to get his wisdom teeth removed. He had a very smooth recovery and no complications. Then a few months later I had been fighting my impacted wisdom teeth and dreading to get them removed cause of how painful I thought it may be! No, I'm so glad I got them removed! I was so scared arriving for the procedure....they put an IV in me and next thing you know I'm awake!! Asking when they're going to start, they said they are all done!! I could not believe it....I didn't feel a thing! I didn't swell afterwords or anything! I just woke up(the next day) and it's like I never got teeth pulled! Don't even need pain medication. My mouth hurt worse when I had the teeth!! It's crazy. I hear all these people with their horror stories, I don't think they're going to the right doctor! I will recommend Dr. Hernandez any day!
