Roland's Driving School is not only a great place to learn how to drive, it's also a place where your confidence is boosted and where you learn to actually enjoy driving. Roland and Lina are phenomenal teachers with amazing attitudes who make a two hour driving lesson seem like 10 minutes (time flies when you're having fun!) I always left feeling more confident, knowledgeable and excited for the next lesson. As someone who was nervous to find a place that was affordable yet reliable, Roland's definitely surpassed my expectations. Oh, and I passed on my first try (that seems to be a trend.) Currently, Roland is helping me find the best insurance rate for a car. Above and beyond is an understatement for him. This was my second time taking the driving test the first time i used another driving school in eagle rock that rhymes with melta lol. That instructor went over absolutely nothing beforehand and i subsequently failed. This time i went with Roland's driving school and from the moment i spoke with Roland over the phone the difference was huge he was polite, friendly, funny and kind. My instructor on the test day was Lina and she was GREAT we practiced the routes over and over the whole while correcting any mistakes i made in the process. And of course I PASSED. Roland's Driving School is the best! I had practiced driving with my brother before calling Roland to set up an appointment and I was kind of nervous. Roland was very nice and set me up with a session with Lena, who is one of the greatest people ever! She made sure I knew the rules, calmed me down, and told me not to be scared and that I would pass. After a 2 hour session with her I felt confident, but I opted to have my driving test in their Prius. Roland picked me up an hour before my test, reviewed the rules and the route with me and told me not to stress and do my best. I just took my driving test and passed! For my mother's driving lesson I took an Apointment at this location because I knew MR.Roland personally from 11 yeas a go for the same driving lesson with him personally;so I found him as an on time person with principles who had respected his and his clients time but seems unfortunately not any more !My mother had an appointment with him at 10:00 am today for her driving lesson so she was ready to picked up ,he didn't come and he didn't even notified us that he's gonna be late !Finally,I had decided to called him and I found out that he's gonna be late for half an hour . What I know uncommon events can happen for anyone anytime! but to have careless behavior regarding to the clients time without feeling sorry is not an acceptable behavior for anyone so it looks very unprofessional !! For that reason we end up to cancel our appointment completely with him and I won't recommend anyone to go to this location anymore. read more

I will recommend Roland's Driving school to everyone! If you are like me and have little to no previous driving experience, this is the school for you. I had the privilege of being taught by three of the school's instructors. Caren, my first ever driving instructor, was wonderful! Caren is very calm and patient. She gave me very practical, no nonsense advice and has a very tranquil presence, that would make even the most nervous student feel at ease. Lina, the next instructor I drove with, is also so great! Lina is very easy-going with a very nurturing and lighthearted personality. I could tell that she is very invested in the success of her students. She, too, gave me very good practical driving tips. She has a very logical and organized way of communicating these tips to students. Finally, Roland's style of teaching is very thought-provoking and philosophical. I always felt that the the advice he gave me applied to more than just driving, but also life as well. While he has been a driving instructor for over 25 years, It is very obvious that he still loves what he does and is passionate about teaching. Roland's fun-loving and has a hilarious personality that put me at ease, making it so I was able to laugh while I learned. I liked getting the different tips and perspectives from the instructors. It made for a very well rounded driving education. While all the institutor's have different styles, they are all extremely competent and great at teaching. I am happy to say, that with the help these wonderful instructors at Roland's Driving School; I am now a licensed driver! After 12 hours of instruction (6 lessons), I felt so confident taking my behind-the-wheel driving test. I opted to use their service where an instructor picks you up an hour before the test and drives with you to the DMV. You then use the school's car for the examination. I meant to write this review late November after passing my test, but with buying my car and being busy at work. It took me a little bit to get around to it. I called Roland with a very tight time-frame on when I needed to take my behind the wheel test. Not only did I need a refresher course but I needed a car to take the test in. Roland was able to work around my schedule, and assigned Caren for the majority of my 6 hours of training. What was simply great about Caren is that she didn't sugar coat anything and put me directly behind the wheel. Taking me immediately out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. When it came to what I needed to work on in terms of passing the test, she was very clear and precise. Also a super cool & nice person and didn't mind stopping for coffee mid lesson! When it came to taking my driver's test needless to say I was still nervous, Lina came and picked me up from my house to get over to Glendale and get it done. Lina was really clear about what I needed to do to ensure that I pass. Not only was she clear, she was HILARIOUS and a pleasure to be around. This made me a lot more comfortable and forget about how nervous I was to take the test, being 27 and having to take your drivers test again was a bit nerve racking. What was most impressive, Roland was also at the DMV getting another student through. It was clear when Lina and Roland interacted that this group is truly a family and care deeply about their work and each other. All in all, regardless of age, experience or how you're currently feeling about getting behind the wheel. These folks will take care of you, 10/10 would recommend. I have renewed my driving permit several times and tried and tried to learn to drive from my family. However, the anxiety I felt having a panicked family member instructing me forced me to plateau and not improve. So, after six years of driving, I finally called Roland's, and I purchased the 10-hour driving package. My instructer Karen was very patient and very friendly, and she was quick to point out mistakes gently. She helped me become a more confident driver and pushed me to try new things (like freeway driving). He is very patient and very familiar with the test procedure and area around Glendale. He wrote down what the examiner would ask before the test, English the examiner may use during the test and tips to pass the exam. I had no experience at driving at all and was just nervous about driving. I have to say, Roland has to be the best instructor there is. He has all the aspects that makes a good instructor. He's very calm and will know everything there is to know about driving. Helped me out with every problem I faced and taught me what to do in certain situations. Any mistake or thing I wasn't sure about but didn't bring up, he saw it and explained how and why to do things a certain way and just made me so much of a better driver just after one lesson. I looked into all the driving schools in Burbank for my son. I noticed that Roland's driving school had a lot of good reviews. Decided to give it a try, I called Roland that Friday evening and the next morning Saturday he was driving with Nick!! 8am sharp for 2 hours. My son felt very comfortable learning from Nick. I called Roland that Saturday evening and asked for another 2 hours with Nick and he squeezed him in the following day Sunday afternoon!! :) The following week my son was ready to take his driving test. I called Roland the beginning of the week and asked if he can make his dmv driving appointment for him for Friday! Sure enough he was set at 1pm Friday! Roland picked him up practiced another hour before the driving test and he did it!! He passed!! What great service pick up and drop off at the DMV scheduled and all!! Great Service!!
