Dr. Joshua Nichols explained a couple of procedures that we could pursue and answered every question I had without making me feel foolish for asking them. He has a very calming demeanor about him. His wife (front desk) and he both said he could fix it. She told me she was glad I didn't go to the doctor and went to them instead. They put me down as self-pay, and I paid $40. I thought it was a little strange because I have good insurance, and my copay for a specialist is $25. When I asked, they said it'd be $40 under insurance anyway so it's easier to run as self-pay. He bent my foot a few times and determined it wasn't broken. In assessing me, he kept looking at my left side even though it was my right foot that was causing the issue. After doing some "work" on me--bending my foot all around, smashing my calves, and balancing my pelvis--he said my foot wasn't broken and I could return to exercise unlimited that day. He sent me home with some mobility exercises for my glutes and hamstrings and advised me to not take ibuprofen or ice my foot. While I was excited to return to the gym, I felt like something wasn't right. I went to the gym the next morning and by noon that day, the pain had returned two-fold. I called Michael and, after asking questions, got him on the phone. I said, "I want to make sure I shouldn't go to the doctor because I am in a lot of pain." He said there was no need and to just come back in. I decided to go with my gut and did not return because I honestly felt like he made my foot worse and gave me bad advice. Turns out, after an MRI, I had very bad tendinitis in my foot. The orthopedic doctor put me in a boot for 3 weeks with ibuprofen and limited exercise. Maybe JMC is good for mobility and maintenance, but trust your body when you think you're injured.

I started with Dr McCarthy April 29th with a complaint about a lump under my left foot. He was very…read moreinformative and detailed. The 1st line of treatment was a corticosteroid pack. I got no improvement. My 2nd appt was May 18th. He then said let's do a mri so that we can get a better idea of what is going on with the foot. I asked that it be done at Radiology & Assoc. I didn't hear from Makala who does the referrals. I called again. I asked to speak to the Dr. she said he don't talk to patients and I wasn't the only patient he had. I then got a call from a mri company I didn't know. I called Makala on May 29th she said I will call you back. no call from her. June 1st Radiology Assoc had appt June 3rd. I heard nothing from Dr's office so I made appt for July 10th. Dr reviewed the mri and suggested Radiation Therapy due to the lump being on top of a nerve. I've called the office July 20th, & 23rd. I still do not have a referral for Radiation Therapy as of today July 28th. What will it take to get the Referral????

I contacted this group to have a minor issue with my foot taken care of. I have out of state…read moreinsurance. I asked for the rate and they said starting at $500. I advised insurance would give them $50 or $60 plus my $40 clay if they are lucky. I asked for a negotiated rate and the lady said they do t negotiate with cash pay. Tallahasse Podiatry was $250-$320, no more. If you are cash pay do not go. Also, check every item the doctors check and make sure it was performed on the bill if you have insurance. This is not a rating for their performance but for integrity and billing practices.
