My annual fishing trip to Elko included a stop in Battle Mountain. Be prepared to spend at least $100 or its not worth it. I spent $200 last time and the wife has OKd me to double my budget next time I go. They have stuff that looks cool and is fun for the kids, but also stuff that will blow your arm off and set your neighbors house on fire. (One of my favorites is literally called a "Neighbor Hater" and spits fire and sparks as it hovers up and out of your yard...AWESOME!) I drive to Salt Lake City yearly and always stop at roller coaster fireworks to get my firework fix. There is a huge selection of fireworks and some antique fireworks in cases. The lady inside, Lynn, was helpful and very funny. She through in a few freebies and the prices were reasonable. read more

Place is terrible... WAY OVER PRICED! Price of some firecrackers was 50$ when it's usually 10$. Would not recommend going here.. wish I could give it a no star rating. Way overpriced, low selection. read more

On our way back home from Yellowstone I decided to stop by, from the outside its kinda shabby looking building, but once inside it's like being in a candy store. Once you start asking questions to the guys working there, they have a wealth of info about the product they sell. I picked up the Excalibur it's performed to my expectations. Highly Recommended - Especially for Bay Area Californians - We have been having annual block parties every 4th of July and New Years for about ten years. Every year I make a run to pick up the "Good" fireworks. In the past I have purchased fireworks in Evanston and Cheyenne, Wyoming, New Mexico and Pahrump, Nevada. None of them are particularly close. So this year I decided to surf the net and see if anything was closer. I ran across this shop/location and it was closer to the Bay Area (430 miles) than the next nearest location which is Pahrump, NV (550 miles). Once you make it to Reno, it's another 220 miles east on Interstate 80. So in May (2011), I thought I would give it shot. Overall I was pleased and will return their next time. It is not as big (amount of stock) as the other locations I mentioned. The other places have large warehouses full of fireworks. But, I must say there is more than enough selection at the Roller Coaster Fireworks shop in Battle Mountain. Prices are comparable because the warehouse stores offer a lot of 2 for 1's, but have raised the prices to compensate for that. Roller Coaster does not offer 2 for 1's, but their prices are reasonable. The store owner (Steven Cassorla) is very helpful and pleasant to do business with. I spent about $500 and got a very nice selection of reloadable mortars and multi-shot cakes. The other nice thing is it is easy access (right off the freeway) and no "Sting" operations going on as is the case in Pahrump, NV (unmarked police cars taking photos of license plates). If you are wondering about the quality of fireworks, they are very good. Jim stocks primarily World Class and Boomer brand fireworks. If you are at all familiar with reloadable mortars, World Class makes the #1 seller, called Excalibur (trust me...must buy...they are the best).
