This guy came out to my elderly parent's home to fix a leak in an obsolete pipe under the bathroom…read moreof their pier and beam home. My mom's husband had already done all of the prep work and digging to expose the issue and simply needed the pipe capped off. Can someone please tell me why 15 minutes of work and no troubleshooting cost them $450???!!! That is a complete ripoff! I don't know about y'all but I feel like my parents were completely taken advantage of! I work in construction and remodeling. I know the cost of materials and what it takes to get the job done. Unfortunately, I don't live nearby to help them. It scares me that there are people out there like this that are willing to screw the elderly out of their grocery money. I don't care if it was cold outside or not. I am furious! Give them their money back.

Decided to try Mesquite Plumbing/Mr. Rooter. We stayed home and waited for them to arrive. Late in the day they rescheduled for the next day. When they eventually arrived, the plumber looked at it and said that he would sour up an estimate. Thirty minutes later he presented the estimate for $1500 and another for $5000 to replace a non-leaking line by the street because the copper was "Green". Coincidentally, we just had that line replaced by Riddell for only $400, just 3 months ago when the city replaced our meter. I told the Mr. Rooter representative this and he told me that they do "by the Job" pricing vs. by the hour and that is why it cost so much. I paid him the $65 "service call charge" and sent him on his way. I then dug up the area around the valve and found a very small leak at one of the copper pipe junctions. Less than a half hour to fix for any decent plumber. I would literally be ashamed to operate a business in this type of predatory manner. If I didn't know something about plumbing, I would have been totally ripped off. BUYER BEWARE!

Mason fixed an improper installation that another plumbing company did previously and it has worked great. The second time, Mason came out on his day off to fix a main water line break that we had. He truly cares about his customers and treats them like family. Not only did he do a great job on the repair, when I got the invoice, he did not upcharge at all for overtime/ an emergency call. I will continue to use Alkaline (Mason) for all of our needs and will recommend him to all of our friends/ family.

I had tried to be patient though it was hard with the lack of communication. Loads of delays and even more excuses. After many excuses they claimed they had already sent me the money through Zelle, which I never received. I then checked with BBB, and found other companies they also ripped off and never refunded their down payments. Looks like they make a habit of ripping off people. I learned never to give anyone a DOWN PAYMENT!
