Rolling Meadows is a great, fun golf course. As befits it's name, it is a relatively flat (rolling meadow) course without any hills and valleys. It is, however, a LONG course and one we refer to as a "gotta get a cart" course. We walked 18 holes here - but it's a long walk and you really might want to consider a cart. The course is VERY WELL maintained and the greens, the freeways and the t-boxes were all in great condition. Unlike many courses that have let their sand traps deteroriate - the traps at Rolling Meadows actually had sand in them and also appeared well-maintained, The staff in the clubhouse is great - very pleasant and helpful. Course is in much better shape than a few years ago. Par 3 # 7 in the woods is a little wet but green is fine. Friendly crew. Only a few minutes from my house, I slip over in evenings and play nine. Worth a try for public course golfers. read more

Nice course, well maintained except for the cart paths have deteriorated greatly., The course is fun to play - 3 or 4 holes are challenging. The rest are pretty easy. Great course for beginners and seniors. I think the course is a bit overpriced when you compare the quality against other courses nearby like Darby Creek or The Ridge and Gardens. My team decided to play another 9 after 18, after the person working at the clubhouse told us we were free to play whichever 9 we wanted we were then told while teeing off on the 10th that we were not allowed to play the back 9. On the first hole of our back 9 we were verbally told that we were "killing the people working there", as we maintained pace of play and played almost par golf and that we needed to let the team that was 15 minutes behind us play through, course is nice but staff is awful read more

One of my favorite local courses is Rolling Meadows Golf Club near Marysville. This little gem is excellent for golfers of all skill levels. The clubhouse is "no frills" but the course is well maintained and the staff is friendly. You can book your tee time online which makes check in simple. No longer a good value. 4/07/2024 had a frost delay of 45 minutes, no starter to keep things moving. Course was OK, bunkers not raked, hard packed sand. Weekend rate of $48 makes this out of reasonable price range for me. Like the layout of the course, very open and mostly flat. Do not like the number of people booked with no starter or marshal to keep play moving at a reasonable pace. Took the day off Friday before Memorial Day to have a little "me" day out on the golf course. Decided to try out Rolling Meadows. It was relatively inexpensive compared to other courses around and I wasn't looking for anything fancy for my first round of the year. $30 for 18 holes including a cart, PRETTY GOOD! I got there 20 mins before my tee time and still didn't get out in time due to the credit card machine taking FOREVER to process credit cards. Also, the man working the inside seemed to not really be in much of a hurry as I finally got up to the counter told him my tee time was 5 mins ago and he fielded a phone call, chatted on the phone for a minute or two, and slowly checked my name for a tee time. It was kind of rude and the line was getting pretty knowingly frustrated. He wasn't overly friendly either so the service was kind of a miss for me. The course itself wasn't bad, there was a hole or two that had pretty muddy/sloppy fairways but for the most part, it was kept up pretty well and the greens were in good condition. There were plenty of age ranges there for a Friday morning and pace of play was good. The carts are older but still work fine, that's why they make golf tracking apps. I liked that they didn't have someone on the first hole to check tee times and make sure everyone was going out when they were supposed to which helped with me running late from the clubhouse and made me feel a little less pressure. Overall decent course and good for the price. Just needed a bit of improved service for a better rating. I would probably go back and give it another shot when I just want to play a round on my own tho. read more

Let me clarify my rating at the outset. My three stars is a solid rating - a strong three stars. The course conditions have improved immensely since three years ago as the fairways are well cut sans bare spots, the greens lack pockmarks and roll fine and the bunkers have more sand than most New Era courses. I'm happy with the current conditions and give it 3.5 stars for a public course. At the same time it's a very average layout, not much rough and quite wide open with #17 the one exception so overall it's a 3.0 star design. Pace of play is usually not a problem which is surprising as there's no course monitors nor is there a starter so tee times may not align with your start time. The current staff is friendly though not well versed on golf management. It's not a group that pairs up lone golfers or twosomes. There's no pro shop but reasonable snacks and beverages are available. I've played at Rolling Meadows for many years and the last two years has seen its best condition. It's not high end golf, rather it's a country course at a fair price with generally available tee times. While it will not be one of those memorable courses you'll always remember, if you're a mid-to-higher handicap you should enjoy the course. read more

Very poor management. A middle age gentleman was working tee times and completely overbooked the course and didn't communicate. Then went on to trash talk with other members in the club about my frustration while a partner in my group was waiting in line. The lady who solved our issue was extremely nice and cooperative, I give all my best reviews for her but the guy needs to have an attitude check. Every player would be rightfully upset with having to pay $40 for a subpar course, play holes 10-18 2x instead of 1-18, and have to play at a 6+ hour round rate. I am giving two stars because we did get a refund and at the end of the day it is golf. But it is upsetting to hear and see the unprofessional amongst not only staff but members of their league also. Like I said, the lady helping us was amazing and incredibly nice and I believe it could be a great course with proper management and someone who genuinely cares about the golfers (unlike the man working on 4/27/23) read more

I've noticed a lot of these reviews were from 3-4 years ago. I've played there twice already this year and I have to say, I don't get the reviews. The greens are in amazing shape. The are lightning fast and comparable to country club greens. The price is reasonable. They need news carts but besides that, it's a great little course. If you're looking for a place to go and have an outing with your friends, this would be a great course. No beers sales on Sunday though. read more

In for a wedding from out of town and came here for a quick 18 with the wedding party. Probably the worst course I have ever played at in terms of grass conditions. Greens were literally made of dirt and falling apart at many points. That being said the course was dirt cheap, so if you want to get a few swings in I guess it could be worse. read more

Rolling Meadows... you're A-OK. Just because I don't have a membership to a private golf club doesn't mean my leanings in the vast arena of golf courses aren't tainted with some snobberish views. I always want lush, green fairways and pristine bunkers. I cherish fast greens and tree-lined golf holes. Here's the meat & potatoes, golfers. $28 ! ! I played 18 holes of golf as a single in under 3 hours on Saturday afternoon starting at 2PM. So when someone you know (or you) complain about pace of play and how expensive golf is to play, keep Rolling Meadows in mind. Course Design & Layout: I'd give it about a 5 out of possible 10. The fact is the golf course is built on farmland and almost entirely devoid of trees. There are shots that require some thought (a creek running across a couple driving zones) and a single tree here or there. But no trouble. There are a few ponds but none should trouble the average joe golfer. The greens have some burn-out (it has been dry all spring and contributes to the problem) but most have 90% in good working order. The length: 6800 yards stretched to the max and its a fast track. It played from the tips like it was less than 6400 yards due to brown-out fairways. The clubhouse has delicious and fresh hot dogs on the rotisserie grill and cold drinks.... but no frills & thrills. Range balls???? Didn't see a range to warm up. So stretch outside before hitting that first tee shot. I found Rolling Meadows, again, to be A-OK. Had a fantastic time minus the fact that the course is about as luxurious as White Castle, the clientele run around stealing people's shots, lost several balls in the wide open areas because of lack of landscaping, and the only staff behind the counter is an arrogant curmudgeon. I called in trying to set up a tee time for two people at 5:15 and the guy on the phone told me no. Said two people couldn't get get through 18 in time and told me to go elsewhere. Are you kidding me? I told him we are two people and could probably get done in 3 hours. He said it's true it may not get dark until 9:30 but we would be holding up the people that work there. That's incredulous! What a shitty thing to say. That's YOUR JOB! What a lazy person. You guys have tee times on golf now until 6:12 for 18 holes. That's an hour after I was trying to set something up. I can't believe that guy said he wouldn't set us up. Sounded like some retired old man who hates life. I get he's probably retired and wants to get home and be tucked in before 8:30, but normal people work until 5. What a joke... Would not recommend golfing here due to management showing no class. Played a round with my husband last weekend. After our round we were asked how it went. My husband mentioned it could have gone better if the grass had not been mowed so high right next to the fairways. Any ball falling slightly right or left could not be found. The reply was, "We will make sure to keep the grass even taller just for you." He was not joking. the course is like playing on a cow pasture, the help behind the counter are rude and could care less about the course and or the players. played there sun the 20th sept, greens had been aerated and the person who I made tee times with never told me that, plus they had the gall to charge full wk-end prices.
