This place is managed horribly. It's a gamble on if they will be open or not. The price you're paying isn't worth it when they can't even supply rubber tees for the covered portion of the range. There really isn't much to aim for except sand since most of their distance flags are knocked over. They have so much potential here since there aren't too many driving ranges near it. The other perk is the beautiful view of downtown. Find some investors and build a huge 2 story driving range where the whole thing is covered and heated. Collaborate with the brewery next door and find a way to implement alcohol. read more

A great golf training center with outdoor & covered / heated bays along with a 9 hole course I have yet to play. Facility was clean and touch-less transaction to get the range balls. Highly recommended! read more

The shelter tee boxes are in very poor condition. There were no rubber tees to be found and the mats are extremely warn. The grass tees were designated for "members only." This place would be my last choice for an evening at the golf range. read more

Golf Depot was once a premier driving range. Since the ownership change the place has become a dump. The driving range is not maintained and is largely deadpan. The par 3 course appears to have been abandoned. The physical layout is no longer efficient. Golfers are obligated to hike to the far side of the range to get a basket and then backtrack to the nearly grassless tight lie range. The Depot building appears to have been abandoned too. Perhaps someday a competent owner will restore this one-time gem. read more

I came to hit balls a few times, and on one of the occasions my 7 iron snapped (shaft cracked in transit) so I asked the staff to recover the head once the range died down. I came back every day for 4 days, clearly none of the staff had looked for it (most of them were hitting balls instead of being at the desk). So I asked the groundskeeper myself, and he admitted to throwing it away... not a cheap club either, and when I contacted the owner about the situation, he was incredibly rude and stingy. He ended up just ignoring me completely and I had to replace the club myself. Clearly does not know how to run a professional golf range, and has no respect for his customers. read more

I finally got to go back after our Yelp Elite event and hit some more balls on the range here yesterday. It really is a beautiful setting, especially with the skyline in the distance. You wouldn't believe you're in Franklin County. Everything is competitve with other places around town, but I wouldn't say it's cheaper. You can go to the Four Seasons Golf and Fitness Center and pay the same amount for the driving range. It costs $15 to play a 9 hole par 3, which isn't bad, but you can go to many public courses and pay $35ish to play 18 holes on a regular course, like Raymond Memorial. Golf Depot is great for practicing, however, as you can go from the range, to the putting green, to a short course (holes are bout 60 yards), to the par 3 and work out all of your game. I do wish the driving range had signs going beyond 150 yards to get a better idea of how far my balls were landing. The food that we tried from our event was very good, and most of it was on the menu. The patio is nice and relaxing to chill and have a beer, and it overlooks the skyline as well. This is a great place for me as I work near Gahanna and can make the trip over in about 10 minutes from the office. I'll definitely be back. read more

I checked out The Golf Depot - Central Park, which is a 9 hole course located in Gahanna. Thy also have a restaurant Barry's Grill & Pub. The facility opened in the fall of 2011. They have very reasonable annual rates. Members have access to access to the 9-hole par 3 course, driving range, and 9-hole short course (primary focus is the short game), 18-hole putting course; and also receive 20% on all services, including food, lessons, clubs, club fittings, The restaurant, Barry's Grill & Pub, appears to have a very good menu, though I haven't eaten there yet. It is a laid back place and the golf pro that I spoke with emphasized they do not want to be a stuff country club, they're goal is a casual, family friendly place and from I can tell it is all that. I may have found a place to join, primarily because the people, price and location. read more

What a nice spot to hit balls. Grass is adequate but the wide open area offers lots of good targets. The view is ridiculous.

This place just reopened last week under new ownership. I'm glad to have the Golf Depot back! It would've been a total disappointment if the place was permanently closed. Since Four Seasons Golf Center closed in 2017, this is the only place in East Columbus to go hit. I can't wait to start using it again! read more

I attended the yelp elite event here last night thanks to my lovely sister inviting me as a guest! This place is awesome- it's filled with history, sports an amazing view of the city and has SUCH friendly staff to boot! I cannot wait to come back!! I'm not the pessimist your mama warned you about, but I SUCK at golf. I enjoy it, I am just no good. The people at Golf Depot had me swinging better after 1 lesson! I didn't think it was possible to improve my horrendous swing, but at the end of 1 lesson, I was hitting the ball every time, hitting it straight and was picking up distance. Their location is so beautiful, the patio overlooks downtown Columbus & is a great spot to have an adult beverage and watch the sun go down. We had dinner here and really enjoyed our meal. The 3-par course is affordable and great for new golfers, we have plans to go every week or 2 to improve our golf game quite a bit more! read more

I attended an event with Yelp at the Golf Depot last night. I had a wonderful experience! This is a family owned facility and you can definitely feel the love. I'm no golfer - I had never picked up a club before yesterday - and the staff was incredibly gracious and helpful. The pros were friendly and approachable. Wyatt helped me out and improved my swing in just a quick 10 minutes. I'm excited to go back and work on my game. Have I mentioned the view? It's incredible. Easily the best view of downtown in the city. read more

We had so much fun at the Yelp Elite event that we came back the very next day. What really stands out about this place is how comfortable someone who is just new to the sport can feel. I wasn't intimidated by my lack of skill or knowledge of the golf game. As someone just learning I don't feel like I am intruding on some elusive club. We played the par 3 nine hole course. It was a bit wet from all the rain but the course was in good shape. Holes were interesting and challenging for a newbie like me. Other amenities include a driving range, with the most amazing view of downtown, nine hole short course and a 18 hole putting course. You can also take lessons, either individual or group from one of the many Pros. Grounds also include a club house with full service bar and restaurant. read more

Somebody forgot to pay the water bill. The range is nothing but dead grass, sand, and divots. Also if you have a gift card from the depot with a balance, you get to eat that loss. Apparently, the new owner didn't pay for the entire balance sheet in the purchase. I'm losing over $100. After years of playng there several times a week, I'm feeling completely screwed...not going back. read more

Great place, after the Yelp! event, I too came back here a few days later with a good friend. I can't really complain about anything here, except for one thing, and I'm going to call in a recommendation. I spend most of the morning and afternoon working outside in the sun, so for a break and some fun time we came here to hit a few balls around. The breeze was awesome, however, I really wanted to stay out of the sun, so we used the covered tees. My recommendation would be, and they might even do it, would be to open up the windows/doors on the backside of the tee barn so a breeze can get in there, or setup some fans, it was just way too stuffy for any comfort. My hand got so sweaty, my club flew out of my hand during a swing and went flying out into the range, and you know what, I never knew I could throw a club so far! You will definitely get great value here. My buddy was very surprised when we got a bucket of balls and was expecting a counting machine to give you an exact number, and was surprised to find a bin and you just fill up your basket full yourself. I haven't tried the normal menu, but what they offered at the Yelp! event was very good, and I enjoyed it, even when it was served buffet style, so I hope to come back here, just to enjoy some food and drinks and the awesome view sometime. read more

We went there for a Yelp event. Went back the next day and took my father-in-law and played a round. They have a 9 hole par 3 that is actually more challenging than you would think, We went after a hard rain so the course was a bit soggy but the greens were still in very good condition. They have a driving range that is headed for the winter. We also played the short course when we were there with yelp which is a part of the game I really need to work on. Staff was very friendly, they have a full service bar and restaurant. They also offer golf lessons, prices on that seem pretty fair. read more

Visited Golf Depot today for the first time. The course is in a great location near the airport with a view of the Columbus Skyline. Clubhouse staff was very friendly. The pub and interior clubhouse looked very nice with a nice comfortable feel. We paid $15 for the nine hole par 3 course. This included a small bucket of balls. I did not see the short course or 18 hole putting course. I'm not sure where it would have been located but either I missed it or it is not built yet. The tee boxes and greens were in pretty good shape but the rest of the course was in poor condition. It does not seem to get watered as it was mostly dirt rather than grass. This course has a lot of potential but it seems like it is still being constructed. For the most expensive par 3 or executive course in the Columbus area, I was expecting a lot more. read more

Killer view; nice amenities but not pretentious; was not intimidating for women or newbies; great for a quick game of golf (perfect for those of us that adhd!); very nice pros and staff; there are times that airplanes fly over - which I thought was super cool to watch and added to the view. Perhaps the noise might bother someone but it's not like we are playing the Masters and need silence, right? And it's not constant by any means. Great place and glad I checked it out! read more

This is the best kept secret in Columbus! It's a 9 hole, par 3 golf course + driving range with the best view of our city in all of Franklin County. It's also the best place to watch "Red, White & Boom" or any other firework show on the east side of town. Don't forget to stay for lunch or dinner and drinks. Barry's Grill & Pub serves up amazing food. I've enjoyed everything on their menu and always make sure I thank Chef Mark on the way out for his unique and delicious creations. I know it's called the Golf Depot but I have yet to swing a club here. So far, I have only visited for the food and the view. They have a nice place to sit and eat lunch. The staff is extremely friendly and it is a great place to have a business lunch or even just to grab a quick bite to eat. One of the best views of downtown Columbus you can get from afar! read more

I was able to get a lesson and came away very impressed. What a great place to work on your game! Ample room to practice full shots, chipping and putting. Restruant with a super menu. The indoor Callaway practice room is state of the art! My lesson with Gerry Hammond was simple and I recieved drills to work on. Will be back. Looking forward to playing the par 3 read more

This place is way over priced now. They've jacked up the prices this year and it is no longer worth it. This was a great practice facility, and used to be priced as such. You can play a legitimate course for the current prices. It looks like they are even charging for use of the practice green as well now. The short course used to also be a great option, especially being free. I understand charging a small fee for this portion, but it is now as expensive as the par-3 used to be. read more

The course is in terrible shape. I went the first week they opened and the fairway has not matured very much in the past year. There are no signs on any of the holes to let you know what hole you are on or the yardage. there were no marker to let you know red, white or blue tee set points. and they are very overpriced. Next time i will just go to the regular Gahanna Municiple course because it's better and cheaper. read more

After the Yelp event hosted by the Golf Depot, I hope to return this summer with some friends. I bragged so much about it, I have to let them experience it, too. The folks here were so nice and really showed us a good time! The view is absolutely amazing. We got a chance to watch the sun set over Downtown Columbus while enjoying some craft beer and the cool breeze. Justin talked to us about the mission of the Golf Depot and welcomed us back anytime. 21 bucks to play golf with a free bucket of balls to warm up? I'm down! It is really quite a nice course, and the view reminds me of Liberty National (which I have only played on ps3). The owners are cool too and seem to be in touch with the fact that golfers do not enjoy the snobbyness common at some other local venues. They have a great patio with full bar and restaurant which also overlooks the city skyline and has a nice country-club like feel to it. All the holes are par 3's, but you won't make par anyways so who cares. play from the blue tees and you will learn just how bad your slice/hook can ruin your game; the tall grass that makes up the rough swallows balls like... well we'll just leave it at that. Highly recommended for all levels, just make sure if you are rusty that you stock up on extra balls; that being said, hitting your first shot onto the green at this course is a cause for celebration; good thing they serve beer! read more

The Golf Depot is quite a place. I'm certain that in my entire lifetime of playing golf for over 50 years have I ever come across such a multi-purpose facility as this one in Gahanna. I wish it had a twin nearer to the west side of COLS so I would opt for it's flavor and offers rather than one I frequent in the north Hilliard/west Dublin area. Personally, I'm a sucker for practicing on grass rather than mats. TGD has a huge grass area on top of a hillside overlooking downtown COLS and the airport. My wish for the operation would be that they have adequate irrigation because that hilltop will be dry most of the time and grass could be difficult to grow as any hot summertime will teach you. For now it's 7 out of 10 on turf. There is a pub/restaurant on the site - very cool - I enjoyed pulled pork, slider burgers.... all tasty treats. There is a 9-hole executive course that runs around the north side of the range - that could be a fun early evening outing. And TGD has a teaching facility with a solid PGA of America teaching staff. So,.... why 4-stars? Range has you firing golf shots over a hill and into unseen territory. I prefer to see my long range shots hit the ground so I can understand how far and how accurate I'm hitting the golf ball. It's minor but ... really a major deal for me, personally. But not a killer. The Golf Depot is excellent. Again, I'd swap it for any place I'm using now to build my golf game. Location for this YELP'r. read more

Arrived at 7:55pm hoping to use driving range. Noted at least a dozen folks already on range who had just started on *LARGE* buckets. Entered the pro shop and asked for a small bucket, was told range closes at 8pm. What? Mid-May it stays light until 9pm. I would have finished that small bucket long before dark, and before guys already on range finished their large buckets. After being turned away, was curious if folks on the range would be asked to leave at 8pm, or very shortly thereafter, so I waited and watched from my parked car until around 8:20pm. No one was told to leave, half-dozen golfers still had a pile of balls left from their large buckets. I guess they aren't too interested in getting business. I won't bother to come back... read more

Just attended a Gahanna Chamber Business Growth Workshop at The Golf Expo & must say the food was excellent!!! I have never had better chicken salad, except for my own of course, and actually ordered some to pick up for dinner tomorrow night. I plan on making it a priority to get back for dinner one evening soon. And the Chef is a delight:) Very happy!!! read more

By far the worse driving range I've been to in Columbus. The golf balls are soft, cracked and a few were sliced open. Definitely a beginners driving range. I gave 2 stars because they have a great view of the city skyline, other than that they would get a 1*. read more
