The job turned out to be more complicated having to go through a stud and across rafters. He did an expert job with the hole repair patching and painting that I cannot tell where he opened the holes to pull the cable. He's clearly an expert in low voltage and how to work around obstacles that others would run away in fear. Highly recommend him for quality work at a fair price.

Jay has fixed our exterior doors that weren't contacting our weather stripping and sealing properly, as well as adjusting and (where necessary) replacing the interior doors that were poorly hung by the previous owner. He fixed our custom-built pantry shelves, in addition to adding another shelf, replaced baseboards, fixed an accent wall, added shelving to our laundry room, and installed overhead garage storage for us. The best thing about working with Jay, was that he had good input for us in helping to figure out what we wanted to do with our laundry room and to fix the broken design on our accent wall. When he was trying to figure out where to hang our clothes rack in the laundry room, he had the foresight to measure my arms to get a good sense of where to hang the rack since my wife wasn't around to say exactly how high she wanted it installed. Jay is super nice, reliable, and JSC's prices are reasonable. I highly recommend them for any handyman services you might need around the house.

Victor exudes excellent customer service which is important especially when working with a contractor for a long period of time. He communicates well and will let you know if there is a material delay or anything else that can happen when performing home improvement projects. He's honest and there are no hidden costs. He replaced my picture window which had a leak but once he Victorized it I never had any problems no matter how hard it rains. He also repaired and replaced window screens and blinds. I have already referred them to other people. I highly recommend them.

He verbally quoted me $1,500 for an IKEA laminate counter kitchen installation. The cost of the IKEA laminate counter (3 pieces) was only $300. I felt the $1,500 was a bit high but I was having trouble finding someone to install laminate and Victor seemed knowledgeable regarding my project. The project should have taken a day, but Victor was extremely slow. He also let me know he now charges hourly. After day one, he was still setting up his equipment and adjusting my an ikea kitchen drawers which he claimed were off. Not much more done on day 2, day 3, finally started cutting counter tops. I asked him repeatedly where were were on price which he said he would let me know but did not. The evening before he did the actual install on my counter he sent me a text stating he was at $4,500. I was could not even believe this. I did not respond until the next day when he arrived. I had a conversation with him regarding the price he was now charging, he said he had to adjust some cabinets, I did not even pay that much to have my whole IKEA kitchen installed! I knew he was going to leave me is a mess, no counter, sink, etc. I told him to finish and when he was done, I tried to talk with him again about the original $1,500 estimate to now $4,500. He got very heated, so I gave him a check for the full amount which I so regret now but I was uncomfortable with his reaction and wanted him to leave my home. Please beware and don't make the same mistakes I did by hiring Victor who took total advantage of me and he knows it.

I hired Jermaine, the owner of CBB Drywall (named after his kids :D) for a drywall and paint job…read moreafter my half bathroom flooded. I found his business with Yelp's Request a Quote service, and he responded quickly and with a great estimate based on pictures. He came out to start the job (on a Sunday!) and stuck to his original estimate. Two things I would suggest if hiring CBB: establish your timeline upfront, and get a warning before drywall sanding begins. My project spanned 10 days with Jermaine coming out 4 times, which was a bit longer than I expected, but fit my initial timeline. He offered to come out a 5th time to fix a minor issue (which he discounted for), but I was satisfied enough with the work and needed to be wrapping up the project at that point. Also, since this was my first time having drywall work done, I had NO idea the sanding would be so messy, and he didn't have the proper setup to contain it. I was scrambling to cover my belongings when he got started, went upstairs to avoid breathing the toxic dust, then left for a couple hours afterward to let the dust settle. Jermaine did his best to clean up afterwards, which I appreciate, but I had to do quite a bit myself to get all the mess. Jermaine stands behind his work, and I know there are growing pains with a new business. Jermaine is a very nice guy, great to work with, and I have no doubt he will be successful. I have already recommended him to a friend - don't hesitate to give him a try!

He does not have a standard crew and has no pre-planning ability thus leading to unnecessary delays. We decided to part ways with him as our job was scheduled to be completed in January...it's March and still "looking for someone to assist him". We should have stuck with our initial thoughts of severing the contract last month, but decided to give him (owner) a chance to fix it. When we had enough and asked him to finish the paint job that he was fully paid for and we would complete the project at a later time he came to our home gathered his tools and left without completing the job. I have receipts showing he was paid in full, video of the state of our home, text messages and contract to prove all of this. Save yourself the headache and hire someone else. He has multiple names for his business and recently merged with his wife using Navy & Grey designs! We didn't do any business with the interior design so I wouldn't deter anyone from trying her services. Be aware of his multiple business names! #Navy&GreyDesigns #OldOakRenovations #William BarnesHomeServices
