"Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it."
~Sir Henry Royce
As a novice car aficionado, there have been many choices on my bucket list. However, when it came to my first new Rolls Royce Corniche, I felt giddy and had butterflies in my tummy (really large butterflies considering my tummy's size). Unable to sleep several days awaiting delivery was nerve wrecking. Was the color, wood choice, interior hue, going to be ok? It better be cause ready or not, it was on its way!
On arrival day everything went off without a hitch. Seems the panic was unfounded as all that was expected, certainly was surpassed. It all felt surreal especially the drive home. Oh Joy!
Craftsmanship on the vehicle is astounding.
The work to produce every single unit is in the hundreds of hours. And it all comes together as, while driving, you look upon the Flying Lady, known as "The Spirit of Ecstasy"
Because nearly every task is completed by hand, it takes anywhere from 1 to 3 1/2 months to complete one (depending on bespoke additional options) Also interesting to me was that, because it is hand-built, mistakes will be hard to detect and most likely only in a single car. As to where, if a robotic arm is producing a car, it could affect thousands of products that robot touched. (Quora answer)
Among the many fallacies associated with Rolls Royce vehicles:
*If you break down, they immediately dispatch a mechanic in a helicopter
*The armrest is edible in case you are in dire hunger
*Rolls Royce vehicles never need service
*The Flying Lady is Silver
This last one is not automatic. You may order it in real Silver or Gold, but will add to the price
BTW...if someone tries to snatch it off the grill, it retracts downward viciously and a plate covers over it. :)
Wish I could give more Stars as that where my head was when the purchase was completed.
Altogether my complete experience was wonderful and memorable. Not soon to be repeated as my Grandma said: enough jon!
