Having recently welcomed Harris into our lives I was keen to get professional photos to mark the start of family life. When I saw opening for Autumn weekend sessions at a great price I messaged Angela to secure a spot. Communication was prompt and answered all my queries. Nothing I hate more than when someone doesn't read my query properly and gives a half hearted answer. We agreed a date and I made a secure payment via bank transfer. Angela's communications were friendly and professional which built confidence for us. Her work really does speak for itself when you see the pics on her Facebook page. I especially love the fact that the images are yours to use once she's edited. In October, particularly in Scotland, the weather tends to be wet. Angela suggested venues/locations and also pointed out to consider weather. We eventually decided on the Winter Gardens in the People's Palace at Glasgow Green. It's indoors but with a beautiful backdrop for our first family photos. Angela arrived on time and we had a chat to get to know each other. She talked us through what we could do and also let us decide what we wanted. She was great with baby boy and we just felt so at ease with her. She came with a suitcase prop so that we could get shots of Harris on his own. She wasn't shy about getting into any angle or position so that she got the perfect shot. Her instructions were great and she got us to pose without it feeling too staged. To complicate matters we had also arranged to meet up with Harris' little cousins and aunt so that we could also spend the afternoon together. Angela was more than happy to incorporate them and took it in her stride. The session lasted about 2 hours and it just flew by. Her lovely manner and professionalism meant we got the images we wanted. She listened to us and worked with us to ensure we were happy. At the end of the session Angela set out a timescale for receiving the photos (3 weeks which is more than reasonable). She also asked permission to preview images on Facebook. I love the fact she didn't presume she could share and asked first. If you're looking for someone to capture those precious moments and little details then Grace Rose Photography is for you. The diligence he put into editing the photos was brilliant. I came away with a piece of art work rather than just a photo. Peter will handle everything from framing to printing. Highly recommended.

Several years ago, when my parents mentioned getting a family photograph, I had visions of…read moreuncomfortable posing and stiff smiles all round. However, I needn't have worried. When we arrived at Venture, I was amazed by the cool and quirky images that were on the walls all around us; images of fun, laughter and not a forced smile in sight. My parents, my sister and I were all shown into the studio, where a really cool photographer in jeans and a scruffy tshirt came in to chat with us. She told us to relax and enjoy ourselves, as we were about to have a photo shoot. This was like no photo shoot I had ever imagined. Before long, she had us jumping up and down, running around, pulling silly poses and at one point we were even bounding around on space hoppers. It was so much fun to be messing around and having fun with my family and better still, for it to be captured in an honest family photo. We were invited back several weeks later for a screening, where we sat on a comfortable couch and were shown all of the pictures that had been taken. They made us laugh and cringe and we were able to select which pictures we would like to have printed for our final purchase. We settled on a black and white Abbey Road style image that suited us perfectly and we returned home happy in the knowledge that we had a family picture we could be proud of.

We promised ourselves we wouldn't spend the hundreds required to take the photos home but we fell hook, line and sinker and left with a two year credit agreement and the promise of a piece of art for our wall. John did a great job at capturing lots of smiles and paid very close attention to detail of his little hands, feet and lashes. He also made us feel at ease and super comfortable when it came time to take some family portraits. The whole atmosphere in the studio is happy relaxed and warm and he really is amazing at his craft. The quality of the actual portraits and photo albums are also phenomenal. Not only are the photos striking but the quality of paper and ink are phenomenal. I feel like they'll all be in superb condition in years to come. Couldn't recommend John Hendry enough! Will def be coming back when I have my second.
