I had an appointment nearby and came here specifically to look for an item. I came early in the morning and there was lots of street parking available. When I walked in I was greeted immediately and I noticed I was actually the only customer in the store. This is a pretty small store, but it's packed with stuff. I could've wasted time looking around, but I just asked the guy behind the counter for poppers. He asked me if I was looking for a particular brand and I told him the name of the one we wanted. He had it in stock. They keep them behind the counter, in a glass case. He was super friendly, I wish I had thought to ask for his name because when he asked me if I wanted a receipt I said no. He offered to sign me up for their rewards program, it was really easy. I didn't need to fill anything out, just pick out a card. They had quite a few to choose from too, I went for a simple black and purple one because I knew I was going to be giving it to my man who usually does the shopping. I go into this Romantix occasionally and the service is usually just run of the mill service but today was just fantastic. Each time I go in I see the same faces mostly but today it was a different sales person his name is Michael if I remember correctly. Right when I walked in I was welcomed with such warmth and enthusiasm and while he was helping me and checking me out at the register he was just the sweetest little thing you don't really find people like that when going into a store like this. I am a semi regular customer of the Hillcrest location in San Diego. Locally I have shopped at Romantix and another similar store. Hands down Romantix is the best. At "the other store" I am usually left to figure things out on my own and not offered much in the way of needed information. For instance at both stores I have purchased soft vibrating dildos that can become sticky to the touch. I made the first purchase about a year ago at the "other store". I wasn't given any additional information. Within weeks the item became too sticky to use. Recently I purchased a similar item at Romantix. Kenny, the sales clerk, informed me that I needed to purchase a powder that would keep the toy from becoming sticky and prolong its life. Sure it was a few extra bucks but I will also ensure that my new purchase lasts. At Romantix they make sure I have all the information I need to make an informed purrhase. I appreciate that. Don't expect any customer satisfaction or guarantee, if any of the product or merchandise purchased is defective. Sept 2, 2016 I bought a bottle of JO lube, which after opening, found to be only dripping water, not gel and to compound matters, the bottle had a slow leak and would spray drops if shaken, even with the seal was closed. There was no way to keep the bottle dry. Upon returning it to the same employee working behind the counter 2 weeks later, who could plainly see that the bottle placed on the counter was leaking the watery fluid, refused to exchange/upgrade to another non-defective bottle, trying to defend himself by stating that my receipt clearly says that sales are final. Instead, he suggested that I could be the blame for the condition of the bottle by tossing, mishandling it, etc. Additionally, he remarked that they would lose money and can't stay in business by replacing my defective bottle, which is all I asked. I wasn't trying to get credit or my money back. I presented a legitimate problem and ended up throwing away $16+ for absolutely nothing, plus the time and inconvenience of returning to their store. Just because it's an adult store, doesn't excuse poor customer service or a hostile attitude. There are plenty of other local options who will be more accommodating. read more

I'm so happy that this store exists. The girl with red hair, Brittany is super gorgeous and incredibly helpful. I came in looking for dvds and a few novelties and she has alot of knowledge about the products in the store. This was my first time coming into this particular location and I will most definitely come back. The store is clean and very well kept. It smells nice and the overall ambiance is inviting and certainly sets a mood. Brittany has amazing customer service and is super professional. I asked her if she was the manager and she told me no.
