On our honeymoon in Tenerife we booked a table for Rincón de Juan Carlos and were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a plaza and when you enter, the carefully crafted experience begins with gorgeous lighting and service with a family feel. Now for what we came for, the food. We chose the tasting menu with a selection of 6 glasses of wine. The menu opened with a brioche with caviar packaged as a gift. Who doesn't love a present to start a meal? Our favorite dishes were the raviolis and corn taco. The dessert was the encore, a full tree structure with various fruits, spun sugar, and the presentation of a lifetime. We were so impressed with how every glass of wine paired across the selected dishes. Simply a fantastic gastronomical experience. Final note: this is a Michelin starred restaurant and the prices are on par with that. We were shocked to watch an older couple with a reservation sit down, look over the menu, and choose to leave because "nothing really looked good" and it was "a bit expensive."
