Negative experience here. The customer service was not polite and not competent. We were returning an item purchased a couple of months ago, and she says we couldn't return because it was past the 90 days. It was actually only around 60 days ago, not 90. It was clear from the receipt. She then says "I can't return anything with a date back to March 1". It makes no sense. It was WITHIN 90 days. We pointed this out more than once until she rudely said "fine *eyeroll* I guess I can return it". There was no "Oh, my mistake sir, you were correct, that's within 90 days, absolutely We can return it, I am so sorry!". Unacceptable treatment, we were perfectly polite to her. The appliance staff were kind, however they did take quite a long time to fetch our (relatively small) items, seemingly the result of poor store organization. I get the sense this place is poorly managed and staff are poorly trained or poorly motivated. read more

I want specific locks for my door so I thought Lowes would have them and they did but only in Gold and I don't want the ones in gold I want the ones in silver so I had to go elsewhere to get them. Also loves had them for double the price that the other place I went to did. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. The employees do not practice social distancing whatsoever. My boyfriend and I were looking at a lawnmower when an associate came right up to us and stood not even a foot away to talk to us about the lawn mower. I had to step back to protect myself as he was not wearing a mask. When we were paying, the cashier came around the protective shield to scan the barcode, again not even an arms length away from us. To make matters worse, the lawnmower is completely defective and the store is not willing to do anything for us! They do not have any signage about their new return policy anywhere in the store. Please do not risk yourself to go to this store! read more

I don't normally review non-food related places or big chain stores, but I want to say that the service as Lowes is awesome. The stores are cleaner, and the staff are so much more friendlier than at Rona and Home Depot. They also know their way around the store very well. I wish I caught the name of the one fellow who helped me. I was prepared to go searching for an item all by myself, but he unexpectedly came up to me and asked if I needed help. I showed him a picture of what I needed and he personally led me to the aisles. Note: he did not just tell me what aisle they'd be in and gave vague pointy directions... He walked me over to the item! Sadly, they didn't have what I needed in stock, but I was impressed with the service and friendliness. We also ordered a microwave hoodfan and were impressed with how easy the process was. I definitely recommend Lowes if you want an easier shopping experience! read more

I'm glad Wanda had such a good visit here, but I sure didn't! We passed no less than 12 staff, and not one stopped to help us. Only when I chased him down was I able to get Dennis' help, but he just pointed and continued on his way. Even Mike, the store manager, didn't bother to ask if I needed anything, despite the confused look on my face. This place is great for selection. Well, at least it seems to be. I wasn't able to find 3 of the 4 things I came in for, even though they probably sold them. Because of a very poor customer service experience, my business will go elsewhere. read more

Before Lowe's arrived we had 2 Big home & garden hardware stores to choose from (and a couple smaller ones). One of the bigger ones gave us good service, the other home grown one gave us terrible service on a couple occasions. And so we shopped at the one who gave us the good service as we have been doing a lot of puttering and Reno's around the house. And then Lowe's arrived. I have been wanting to drop into Lowe's since they arrived in Calgary but time was always the challenge. When one showed up in Sunridge...I knew I needed to cross the Deerfoot and satisfy my curiosity. So one rainy day off I went in search of some flowers for my deck. To sum it up the experience was excellent. They actually carry some different items that make them stand out a little and their prices are very reasonable. The most impressive part of the experience however was the customer service (remember I went for flowers). I ended up making 2 trips to the truck (2 separate purchases) during this outing, yikes. Wandering the in store garden section I was asked 2 times politely if I required assistance. The second time I realized I did need a basket and the employee offered to run and get me one. Uhh sure I said, having never experienced service like this at either of the other 2 big home & garden hardware stores. So he did and returned with a basket for my arm full of goodies. From that point on the service continued to be fabulous. Since my first trip to Lowe's turned out to be memorable, I can easily say I will be returning soon! read more

Went in to purchase a dishwasher. Everything was going great until they came to the paperwork. This is when they told me that because I was replacing a different brand of dishwasher than the one I was purchasing there would be an extra $ 50 fee and then because I live in a condo there would be another $60 fee. These fees are in addition to the delivery and installation fees. The clerk called the manager to discus it and he stated that the fees are company policy and can not be changed. They were totally unwilling to discuss the extra (in my opinion - bogus) fees. read more

I purchased a fire pit from these guys. Delivery was supposed to be today. They are now more than two hours late for my delivery. When I try and reach the store manager I get put on hold for 15 minutes. Terrible customer service. read more

Being Canadian and naive, when it comes to US retailers like Lowes, I assumed they would be competitive with the likes of Canadian Tire, Home Depot et al. with their return policy. NOT! Be careful buying anything expensive like appliances, BBQ's, etc. Lowes sticks by it's 90 day return policy. If the item has a 1 year warranty and fails after 90 days but before a year is out Lowes will tell you to take it up with the manufacturer and have a nice day. I was in this Lowe's this weekend 3 times with my husband, we are doing some DIY projects. I was so impressed by the CS that I said well in the store I have to come online and write a review. I had staff come up and ask if we needed help multiple times.. Were were looking to buy sand and had a guy roll over with a fork lift asking how much we needed and if he could get us a cart or just take a skid out for us. We didnt need anything to in depth but I really felt like someone was there to help if needed and so many friendly smiles to make it easier to ask!!! Poor customer service. The gal at the till tried to have someone help her find answers for customers and no one answered her calls. At least 4 customers lost during my half hour of standing there. Spoke with the on duty manager who really didn't get it until asked who else I should speak with. He then apologized and asked how he could help now which should have been his opening statement! Yikes, I don't really know how this business will last. read more

I was with a group of friends that suggested we go into Lowe's and try and get kicked out. I thought it was a dumb idea because it's like a warehouse. So while the others of the group went and fooled around me and another person started walking around. We wandered down to the garden centre and were looking around when we spotted pink lawn flamingos. We walked towards them and were fascinated because they looked so pristine and fancy. Upon further admiration we heard a faint hum. The hum from a bird. We were confused because we could hear the bird but we didn't know where it was, somewhere above in one of the higher shelves. We stood there for about 5 mins and the hum was consistent. We were concerned that the bird was suffocating in a box or dying somewhere. Unable to climb the high shelves and rummage through the boxes we left the store. It has been about a month now and me and my friend are still thinking about that bird. This is a very good store, 4/5 stars! 5/5 if that darn bird survived, but that will remain unsolved. read more

I walked into the store knowing what product I needed to buy (5x4 Ft resin Shed). I was having technical issues with my smartphone so I showed the customer service rep. what product I wanted and how I was having technical issues ordering it online. Since I had received $25.00 off coupon code online; rep insisted that I had to place my order online in order to redeem that discount on my product. I was welcome to use one of Rona's computers to order the product. I was then sent off with one of the season department staff and she was not very computer literate as she kept on switching to the wrong store and by that time the promo that I was receiving on my phone was not available on her computer screen. Then I made an attempt on my smartphone again this time using Google Chrome browser. I was able to place the order and the seasonal department staff asked me to go to the customer service desk and have them receive the order in store. I walked all the way over to the customer service desk again and waited to speak to the rep. I started to inform her that seasonal depart rep wanted me to get her to receive the order customer serv. rep. interrupted me and just called the seasonal dept staff. After the phone call customer serv. rep started to receive the order and then she informed me it will take up to 45 min for the store to receive the order. At this point I was starting to get frustrated and I decided to ask the customer service manager for help. Upon that manager informed the rep. that she could just have sold me the item through the store and applied the credit manually. (Just like I suggested when I walked in to the store; now my card is charged two times and I will have to wait 7 days for a refund to show up). 40 mins later I finally completed the sale transaction. Now I had to wait to receive the product that I just paid for. I was again asked to have a seat and wait while they get the product down from the shelf. After 30 mins I was informed that I need to drive down to the gate to receive the product. when I drove down to the gate there was no one there I stood there for another 5-10 mins and then decided to go back into the store to inquire because at this point I was not sure if I was waiting at the right spot. turns out I was waiting at the right spot store did not have the right piece of equipment available to get the product down and Manager on duty was himself now on the forklift trying to get the product down. I again went down to the gate and waited. it took almost 1hr and 45 mins to get a small 5x3.5 ft resin shed. By this time I was late for picking up my daughter and my wife had leave the house with my other two kids. I now decided to go back and speak to the store manager. I was only able to speak to the manager on duty (person who himself was not equipped with the right piece of machinery to get the product down from the shelf). He did own up to his mistake and apologize however, he was rude and not sincere and was not able to offer any kind of assurance that this would not happen in future and corrective actions will be taken so that no other customer ever experiences the nightmare that this shopping experience was read more
