This RONA is absolutely horrific. I went in there to look for a specific caulking tool, they didn't have it- so I left. Because it is in the same plaza area as Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital, I went to pick up my cat food and get my other cat's ashes that died a traumatic death. Their security guard starts berating me, threatening me that I am going to get a ticket and I told him I just came out of the RONA. Didn't matter to him, I also told him that my cat just died and this is a very stressful situation for me. He then continued to bully me for being upset. Thankfully the staff at Y&S animal hospital helped mediate the situation, but this is truly disappointing behaviour from RONA's management. I am no longer going to buy anything from this store, as I can't support this kind of behaviour. Businesses should be kind to each other and it's clear RONA is just a big bully. read more

This is a really convenient Rona being in a more urban setting with limited space. The problem with the size is that it doesn't have room for a garden center! There was a really good deal on top soil at Rona so we decided to take a shot at the closest one which was this location. They actually did have some gardening supplies like grass seed and other select fertilizer but they are limited in their selection and there aren't any plants for sale. We heard a lot of customers asking about the garden center and they were all aghast to hear that this Rona didn't have one. I think you'll be able to cover other home improvement needs here just no upgrades to your yard. read more

Bought some wrong size small metal screws at Rona Mississauga store and took them to North York store for return, which is closer to where I live. They refused to accept the return telling me they don't sell metal screws (unbelievable for a hardware store !) and told me to go back to Mississauga store and another store that sells metal screws. Frustrated so I said next time I will buy small hardwares at Home Depot to avoid this kind of headache and this young smart alec employee at Rona said "tell them I say hello" ! Rona has terrible customer service, go to Home Depot or another retailer! I purchased an oven range hood Fri Jan 30 at the Sheppard East location, and paid $45 for an installer to come to my condo and perform an estimate prior to installing the hood. We asked if we could pay for the balance of the installation to the installer or over the phone, and the store said yes this would be possible. The installer came without problem for the estimate and stated that some of the required parts are missing. He stated that we would need to make a second trip to the store to get them. We asked if the installer could go and get the required part, I am not a contractor and don't know the proper part. I also spend enough time on my first visit to the store, and specifically asked about payment prior to leaving the store. 1. The installer was unable to go to the store to retrieve the required part for the installation. The store had the part in-stock, we wanted to pay for the part over the phone and have the installer go to pick up the part. 2. The store was unable to take credit card payments over the phone. After a one hour phone conversation and speaking with the manager Paul, he said it is a corporate policy that they are not able to process payments over the phone. Even Pizza Pizza can accept credit card payments over the phone! We informed Paul that we would not be proceeding with this installation. We are calling an installer from Home Depot who can get the proper part from the store and come to compete the installation. I will not go back to Rona again! read more

This is a small hardware store without a lot of inventory but with a wide selection of items. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The store can be a bit of a maze and the staff can be hard to find behind the tall shelves and in the nooks and crannies of the various floors. This is a good place to go if you don't want to go all the way out to one of the box stores, and if you want to buy Canadian. And, they give Air Miles. read more

Went to the already knowing I needed and that being an awl. An awl is a tool that resembles a pin with a handle. Upon entering the store looked messy and all the employees that were on the floor did not say hi nor made any acknowledgement to me. Proceeded to what look like an information desk. I asked for the tool and both employees faces were blank. I had to spell out the tool name and made reference that it was online on there website. After finally finding the tool on their system the rep just left the desk. I had no idea where he was going until I say him make his way to the tools section. Was I suppose to just wait or was he showing me? I followed and he found the tool but needed another size, so I thanked him not sure for what. The customer service was poor. No one had any inclination to help me nor had any expertise. An awl is a basic tool, which I knew and no rep did . Now I know why I don't think of Rona when I need a tool. read more

I ordered blinds online for curbside pickup and the following day received a phone call saying the item is not available even though their website showed there are plenty in stock. They told me to go for pickup to their other stores. They even do not want to deliver items between stores. Never had similar problems in Home depot. read more

I need a service to help me but I can not find a service and the cashier name Emma she try to help me, she answers my questions and order more for me and also check out for me. I went to the Sheppard Ave. E store to replace either a leaky faucet cartridge (if they could help me get it out) or the entire valve assembly. There was no manufacturer identification on anything. Happily, I got Sidney in the plumbing department and he was very helpful. After trying his best to remove the cartridge, he said any more force would probably destroy the whole assembly. Since we would need to know who made it to get a new assembly, the only thing he could suggest was to soak it in CLR or vinegar for a couple of hours. I enjoy going to that very convenient location! As a builder I know where and what to look for! People are mostly very friendly at the store! I get help when I need it!
