There are never enough people working here and there are always problems. It often takes 15-20 minutes just to pay.

Rona is a huge hardware and home improvement chain of stores. Fun fact: Rona is currently American owned BUT it has roots in Montreal, and is a Canadian company. It's founding starts in the late 1930's and it was Canadian owned until 2016 when it was bought out by Lowe's. This particular store is massive and has so many different aisles. I especially like their garden centre because all of their plants actually look like they're thriving and not suffering from being kept in a store. Good job, Rona team! Like I mentioned, they have a lot of stuff. If you don't know where you're looking, it can get overwhelming. There's not many staff there to really guide you or talk to you if you need help. You have to go out of your way to find them. That's really the only reason why I docked a star off. I will drop by this place approximately once a year or so and during my recent visit, I saw that Rona dropped Air Miles (or at least their garden center didn't accept Air Miles). I walked into the garden center area outside in front of the actual building and saw some black soil/earth that I wanted to purchase. I asked one of the workers, how it worked (i.e. whether I take a cart and put the bags of dirt on the cart, pay for it at the entrance of the garden center, and then put the items into my car, etc.) and I was informed that I just needed to go to the cash at the entrance of the garden center, give the person the number of the item and how many I wanted and then drive my car into the garden center and they would load the back of my trunk with the bags of soil. I did exactly that and showed my Air Miles card since I remembered using it at Rona in the past and I was informed that they didn't accept/use Air Miles. I paid with my credit card, got the bill and then went to my car and drove it inside the garden center where I handed one of the employees my bill and he put the bags of soil into the back of my trunk and then I drove off. read more

Very bad services!!!! I was there by 11:50 to cut the wood pailles, then the department was close without any notice, then I ask one of the employee then he said the technicien will return by 12:30, at the end I waited till 12:40 then I ask another employee again does that technicien going to come back, he said he don't know, don't have that guy phone number, can't help me. Omg seriously only one employee worked on that department and he don't respect his working hours! At the end I left my order to another employee, he said to call me once it done. They call me by 6:30pm!!! Omg, this is horrible services I ever have, and the pick up also took me 30mins of waiting with no one in line up. I was just wait for them to bring me my order. Hell yes! Went yesterday to pick up some screws. Not a soul to help me find the right ones. A lady who was also looking asked me to help her because there were no staff available. Went to ask someone for help. He had to call someone from the hardware section to come. Latter was rude and dismissive. Finally found what I wanted. Went to pay and was told by the unfriendly cashier that I was in the line for `Returns and exchanges only. Thank you`. Terrible service. No staff. A 2-minute stop took at least half an hour. read more

2 stars only because they had all the crap I needed for renovations. But it took so long to find things. Employees were sparse and totally unhelpful. Sent me on a goose chase down the wrong aisles. Some old lady employee yelled at me for talking to her (?WTF?). There was a friendly looking guy in the hoses section and I asked him a question. He looked at me blankly and said he doesn't work there - he just likes wearing the Rona shirt. At that point, I just wanted to cry. Rudest staff I have ever come across. Getting someone to help you in this store (in either French or English) is like pulling teeth. Today I had to wait for 25 mins to do a 1 minute transaction (literally)...a card return. This was because the only cashier 'authorized' to work at the returns desk decided to take her break as soon as she saw me (the last person in a two-file line...) early on a Sunday morning. Tried getting help from at least two other staff members and finally a manager, who (when she finally stopped ignoring me and looked me in the face) in no uncertain terms asked me what I wanted her to do (maybe send another staff member to returns counter as hardly anyone else was in the store?!) and basically told me to just wait. Avoid this store at all costs, would give a 0 if I could. read more
