Nancy originally quoted me one amount, but in the end, I was charged more than double--and she blamed the increase on my previous attorney. Communication was poor throughout. I constantly had to chase her down for updates, and serious concerns--like my pension and life insurance--were ignored. She also failed to advocate for fair and consistent alimony payments, leaving me financially unstable and vulnerable. One of the most devastating oversights was her failure to secure a life insurance policy to protect my alimony. As a stay-at-home mom for 24 years, alimony is the majority of my income, and without that protection, if something happens to my ex, I'm left with nothing. To make matters worse, when my ex-husband said he wanted to retire in 10 years and that the pension would then replace my alimony, I was never advised that this meant the pension was tied to his retirement. Nancy never explained the long-term impact of that arrangement or pushed for continued alimony until that time. Now, in 10 years, I'll have no income. That should have been caught and addressed by any attorney truly looking out for their client. He asked for a $2500 (6 hours) retainer which would cover the reading and review of a prenup that was written by my significant others lawyer. It was a direct document, nothing that was so complicated. Scott has an office filled with interns and he kept pushing me off to so many that I couldn't even keep track of who was who . Never met Scott . Maybe spoke to him total Of 15 minutes in total . After weeks, he sends me an invoice additional $4100 plus . For hours spent !! I WAS BEYOND . He did zero !! He was sending me texts regarding a parade for mayor title . I asked to explain the invoice .made zero sense . He said it took 5 hours to read the prenup which again was a standard basic agreement. Nothing out of the ordinary, actually it was written in my favor . He was then kind enough to waive the bill which was completely ludicrous!!! I asked him what took 6 hours ,? I mean really ? Never meeting him ?? NOTHING So he said he would give me a courtesy of sitting down with me and go over the agreement .. Geee.. so we make an appt to come to his office . Sitting in his meeting room with approx 6 INTERNS . Taking notes , asking questions . And we went thru the entire prenup within 1 hour !!!! Then Scott said I need another $2500 if you want me to continue!!! I was in shock !! He then told me to ask my future husband for the money !! DISGRACEFUL !
