Although she was very nice my one complaint about her is she reeked of cigarette smoke. One of the question she asked was am I a smoker, it should've been I'm a smoker so I'm going to reek of it. I was honestly going to say something but I really just wanted to get out of there. Other than that though she was really nice and helpful to an extent. The front desk, although was nice to an extent,was very not helpful. I tried to get them to talk with my insurance company because they were trying to bill me when I was not supposed to pay and she's like oh we're not allowed to talk on the cell phones I'm just like it's my insurance company and they would just like to talk to you to make sure that you're not billing the incorrect code she refused to speak to my company and I had to dictate what they were saying over the phone to her. When I ask them for a code to give to my company to enter in for the information all they could say was we're not a hospital we don't have those codes and it took them at least five minutes to give me a code that was not exactly the one that I needed. The place is clean however the professionalism in there needs serious work.

That said, my experiences with Dr. Mieszerski have been nothing short of exemplary. She is thorough, smart, experienced, and kind. Asks intelligent questions, and listens to the answers. She thinks outside the box. And, wonder of wonders, she takes the time to fully understand and respond to your concerns. Everyone in her office is responsive, warm, caring. It's the way health care should work.

I have to deduct a star though, because she is one of those doctors who relies purely on BMI charts to determine whether a patient is "healthy." Every time I have an appointment, I will get the "Dana, you are overweight" lecture. According to my BMI, yes, I am overweight. Conversely, my resting pulse is 56, I can run a mile in a little over 7 minutes, and my dimensions are 33-25-34.5*. I really loathe doctors and their blind reliance on BMI charts, it's like giving a baby a hammer and everything becomes a nail. *Maybe I've won the title of World's Fittest and Petite Overweight Person!

The receptionist (wish I had gotten her name) was on the phone with a patient helping to give them directions. She looked up and smiled to acknowledge me which was nice. She was also so patient with the person on the phone! When she hung up she was extremely personable and upbeat. When the nurse that day came to get me (can't remember her name either!) she was SO nice! Very sweet and overall lovely demeanor. As she updated my information, she was professional and kind. Dr. Canova is always a pleasure to be around and I really appreciate the attention and care that she gives to me whenever I see her. Even though I only see her typically once a year, she makes me feel very comfortable and I can tell that she genuinely cares about my health and well being. She listens attentively and with empathy and understanding and answers all of my questions honestly. Although the wait was a bit long, Dr. Canova immediately apologized, however, I tend to be understanding as I know it is usually because the doctor is helping another patient and I always want the time to be cared for and have all of my questions answered so I totally get it! I just spent three days in the hospital because the nurse practitioner there did not diagnose me correctly. So I called today to try to have a follow up appointment like I was told to and the secretary that answered the phone told me that even though the hospital tells me to follow up in two weeks it doesn't really matter that my doctor did not have an appointment till July. I tried to explain to her that I was told that I had to have a procedure done before that and she literally did not care. This is the problem with these corporations now they have young girls answering the phone with absolutely no medical training whatsoever and they really do not care about you. You're just a number calling the phone. Do not use them. I'm trying to find somebody else. Worst customer service ever had and I never ever ever have to go to the doctor. I'm very healthy. But this goes to show that they do not care about you and I have two insurances that pay in full and they do not care. She was totally happy when I said I will go somewhere else and literally hung up the phone on me. We are in the process of calling the patient care advocate now with the exact time and date of the phone call.

Dr. Zarcone was my mother's doctor for many years, right up until she died in December. While she…read moremay have been a good doctor in the past, her patient care, communication, and bedside manner were unacceptable during the past few years of my mom's life. I truly wish my mother would have agreed to switch to a doctor who listened to what was going on, rather than rushing in and out, or talking over her. She was unaware of health changes, and there was not communication with her other doctors. If you have a parent who is seeing Dr. Zarcone, I strongly urge you to stay on top of her about medications, and ongoing health conditions so things are not missed. I also would strongly suggest a different doctor.
