I had been seeing signs and flyers for this all over London and being a super fan of all things…read morehorror, I knew I had to go. The first part was a dramatic story telling in a few different rooms. The rooms were hot so be prepared. The actors talk about all the gory details of what happened down there and it was definitely entertaining. The second part is the horror walkthrough. If you are easily scared, they do give you an option to leave at that point. The walkthrough is tight. They have you put your hands on the person in front of you (conga line style) which was weird at first but it wound up being fun. It's deff like a maze down there and we ended up in a dead end a few different times but it was still a fun time and a bit creepy but I would have loved some more pop outs. Overall it's a fun time if you're looking for something to do!

Hmmmm. On paper this sounds like a fascinating tour, and the doorway entry seems very inviting…read more We're offered a dramatic interpretation of the violent and colorful past of the London Bridge. The first half of the tour took our group through various times in history, meeting characters who freely shared the gory details of their life on the bridge. The second half is a spooky maze, with no historical context. It's walking through spiderwebs, near pitch black areas with the occasional spirit jumping out to startle us... all while requiring us to keep our hands on the shoulders of the guest in front of us... like a paranoid conga line. Overall more sideshow, than show. We were so strapped for time, I wish we had skipped this attraction to spend more time at any number of other historical sights including the very close Tower Bridge.

BOO! "eekk" Tulley's…read moreFarm has been a family business since the 1930's. Starting off as a traditional farm, it later specialised in fruit and veg, with pick your own options when the farm was opened up to the public. In the 1990's they opened up a farm shop and a tea rooms and over the last 15 years they have branched out to putting on festivals to celebrate Halloween and Guy Fawkes night among others. Shocktoberfest is a Halloween extravaganza that has been growing and growing. There are now six main attraction in the park, all of which are greatly toned down in the day time for the kiddies, but are pretty damn scary at nighttime, even for us grown ups! Yes, I knew that there would be people in fancy dress jumping out of dark corners at me, how scary can this be? Very! In fact, so scary, I was screaming like a five year old child! There are six main attractions as well as smaller fairground-esk stalls and plenty of food and drink options (no alcohol though). All of the six attraction involve people dressed as spooky characters who interact with you. There is no touching, but I have heard rumours of some of the staff being punched by scared customers! Haunted Hayride is the attraction with the longest queues - we waited for about an hour to see this. It's worth the wait though as you are driven around on a trailer attached to a tractor. Many scary ghosts and ghouls, including the much feared Woodsman, jump on to the trailer with you as you travel around and interact with you. The scenes they have created here are fantastic. My favourite (and most scary) excursion was Its Curtains Maze, which featured clowns in a very disorientating maze. I'm not normally scared of clowns but I think I may have developed a new phobia after this experience! Hell-ements is the newest attraction. You have to feel your way around this maze as they make you do it with a bag over your head - not good for the claustophobes! It features the elements of earth, fire, air and water, but the scariest part of this one is not knowing what is in front of you! The other attractions are Field of Screams, Haunted House and Creepy Cottage - all of which are petrifying in their own individual ways! Shocktoberfest is a must-do for all the family at Halloween time. Tickets are reasonably pricey but it's a great experience, particularly if you like being scared stiff!

Schocktoberfest takes place in Tulley's Farm, and it's a fantastic little (big) place. Makes me want to come back for a visit when it's not all scare-i-fied to see how things run on a normal occasion! There are 6 "scares" you can visit if you purchase the X-Scream pass. Two of them, the Haunted Hayride and Creepy Cottage come standard no matter what level of ticket you purchase. Gemma has already done a fantastic job of describing these "scares." My favorite by far... if favorite can be used as a word for "omg holy jeez I'm so freaked out!" was the Hell-ements. Having a bag over your head that you can only see through to a certain extent with actors creeping up beside you and snarling and velociraptor-screeching is truly creeptastic. And the Twisted Maze... to Hades with you, creepy clowns! We also paid a couple pounds to slingshot onions and shoot corn out of cannons. All the additional fun and games around are £1 each. They also have a lovely tarot reader/clairvoyant named Tia who will read 5 cards for £5. Which I had done, and which was pretty spot on! There's lots of food throughout the farm, so don't be duped into buying the crummy burger from the first set of stands when you walk in. They even had a full hog roast which I so wish I had room for, but I was too full of crummy burger! Seriously, a great night out. Helpful note: if you book ahead online, you save £3.

It was absolutely packed and I can barely feel any Christmas vibes. It is worth mentioning that the park tends to attract large crowds, and there are a number of carnival mini games that are scams, falling short of expectations and potentially being overpriced. While it can be worthwhile to visit at least once to immerse oneself in the festive atmosphere, it is understandable that some individuals may opt not to return based on their personal preferences.

Usually around this time of year is also very cold so bundle up. The place is a fair and a Christmas market all in one. The fair has many rides for all, from toddler to young adult to more mature. The rides use tokens/tickets and those can be purchased there or beforehand as well. They have some pretty nice thrills but if roller coasters and that kind of stuff is not your thing, not to worry, they have other fun rides that are not as intimidating, and lots of games to test your luck. The market is full of items that can be gifted for the holidays, and they have food all throughout the park, BUT they also have areas where you can sit to have a drink, and yes an adult drink haha with love music and bands, and this is probably top3 for me to do there, you feel some kind of brother/sisterhood sitting there next to strangers bonding over classic songs. This place also includes, an ice sculpture area and a circus ! Truly so much to do here, that if possible, you need at least 2 days to soak it all in. The weekends are super packed so if you don't like crowds, probably best to visit during the week. Prices are moderate and reasonable but you don't have to break bank, they usually have deals online to choose from, that best fits what your visit would look like. So go ahead, visit winter wonderland and bring home a prize!

Each experience has been different and I have thoroughly enjoyed every challenge. From the original Panic Room, which is a very traditional escape room - logical and lateral thinking required (sadly no longer available) - onto The Don (still available), Urgency and The Lab (both now retired) and up to The Doll House - which introduced new and slightly scary concepts. Rooms now include - Old Father Time and The Gilman Hotel, which are unique experiences, and like all of the other rooms, I definitely recommend the experience. Other rooms have taken the level of immersive-ness even higher - Ten Fathoms Deep, a 'versus room' - Defective Detective, a proper sleuthing Whodunnit? experience - and DinoLand, if you like Dinosaurs then this is an escape experience for you! They just keep adding more - with The Loop - Unique experience, Enigma - code-breaking, Revolucion Ole - Office-based Political voting twist, Prison Van - Escape the Van!, Secret of Pocahontas - cut-down, Escape Room starter (good beginner room), Res-Urgency - Save the world, with more to open later this year (2018), I don't know how they find the time!! If you like an Egyptian-style fully immersive experience, then take a special trip to their Harlow site - The Tomb is excellent! I have always had a warm welcome from the various hosts that we have had, they are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Very willing to give advice and tips. If I had to give advice to potential attendees, I would say: 1. Ensure you know where you're going - they currently (July 2018) have four sites in Gravesend. 2. Make sure you get there at least 15 minutes early for the briefing and to take advantage of the time before going in, to understand who is going to do what when you get in the room. 3. Read the FAQ's and contact them directly if you have any questions - they've always been friendly and helpful whenever I've need to ask anything. All in all, I cannot recommend them highly enough, each experience has been unique and thoroughly entertaining. Each time I've left wanting to complete another room straight-away!
