Furniture Furniture shopping is right up there with new car shopping and getting a root canal, which is a nice way of saying it sucks. Furniture stores are full of stuff - tons and tons of stuff and it takes some time to work your way through the "rooms" to narrow down what you need. Rooms-to-Go was no exception and we found ourselves wandering a bit - but with the assistance of the sale rep, we eventually managed to find a couch set that looked like it would work. There were optional pieces as well so we wanted to go back to the house to re-measure the space. Everything looked good and I went back to the store the next night and although there was a different sales person available, I was able to get the thing ordered and set up for delivery. At the same time, I saw a cool little piece for the kids room and got that going as well- they consider that a different part of the same store, so I had a different sales person for that. All in all a decent experience and no real issues. I've been a loyal Rooms To Go customer for over three decades. This year alone, I purchased a couch, love seat, dining room set, patio storage chest, pillows, covers, and two patio chairs--my first purchase from Rooms To Go Patio. I spent nearly $1,000 on those chairs, trusting the salesperson's assurance that they were weather-resistant and required little to no maintenance. We were also sold an insurance policy that promised cleaning support or replacement in case of staining. Within a month, both chairs developed stains that I couldn't remove. The insurance company reviewed photos and claimed it was mold. Despite my efforts to clean them and my history of never having issues with patio furniture, the stains persisted. When I returned to the store, the salesperson was sympathetic and agreed the chairs shouldn't look like that after such a short time. She promised the store manager would call me. He never did. I had to follow up multiple times, and when he finally responded via email, he deflected responsibility to customer service and suggested a bleach and Dawn solution. I tried it--no improvement. I explained that this might be a defect in the material, but he insisted it was a maintenance issue and stopped responding meaningfully. No one ever came to inspect the chairs. No professional cleaning was offered. No replacement. Just a loop of emails and dead ends. After three months, the chairs look terrible. Rooms To Go has shown no interest in standing by their product or their promises. I will not return, and I strongly urge others to consider alternative patio furniture retailers who value their customers and honor their commitments. read more

I purchased a leather sofa and loveseat. I asked the salesman if they were real leather and he assured me they were. A few years later the "leather" began peeling away. Apparently, if you take a bunch of real leather scraps, toss them in a blender and turn them into a liquid, you can spray it on the fabric of a piece of furniture and legally call it real leather. Shady business practices, dishonest sales people, and cheap quality furniture add up to a nasty store to which I'll never return. In this place, buyer beware is key. read more

After ordering a sofa my wife decided to order a recliner. We went home to take measurements of the room and decided the recliner wouldn't fit, so the next day we called to cancel the order and was told our salesman was off but would be back tomorrow. We didn't realize until later that our cancellation was being delayed so RTG could charge us 20% for not cancelling within 48 hours of placing the order. What an anti-consumer policy! Just about everything! We used you for years and years never had a problem. A few months back we went and bought furniture and a carpet match. Apparently the carpet was defective because it had this foul odor in the carpet and also that they had recommended. Called the store and asked if they could send somebody to take a look at it. We had a lovely salesman Mark this past Sunday in Jensen Beach, Fl. While we were setting up delivery, we changed our day from the following Sunday to as soon as possible. He went to his manager Jose with us in tow. Jose started saying something nasty and our sales guy had to say "The customers are right there." Jose came over and said he would get us in and call before Tuesday. He did not call and when I called on Tuesday, he stated I cannot come pick up my couch and I cannot have it delivered until Sunday. Five Stars! Customer service is important during and most importantly after the sale. Our salesperson Valerie, at the Jensen Beach store, was most patient with us, explained all the options and arranged for delivery. By the way, the delivery men showed up on time and did a great job. We ordered a reclining chair with a power lift. Unfortunately there was a defect from the manufacturer. Valerie and her boss worked with us very closely to find a replacement from a different manufacturer and arranged for the pickup of the defect and the delivery of the new chair at no cost to us. SCW and I visited Rooms to Go in search of.......furniture! The entrance is on the side facing US1, unless you want to go through the kids section of the store which is located in back. The parking lot is spacious but just a little confusing the first time as to where you enter the store. Once inside they have a very large showroom, bright and clean. The layout is usually in themes or a living room that is well decorated to give you ideas about how the items would look in your house. Prices are easily found and are quite reasonable in my opinion. The quality of the furniture seemed to be pretty decent as long as you know what you are looking for. The service is good. Lots of helpful employees if you need help with something, but they also leave you to your browsing as well. No high pressure sales here which is nice. We didn't purchase anything this time around but will definitely consider it in the future. read more

I purchased a beautiful white sofa that I fell in love with at the end of August and waited a month for the delivery. When the sofa arrived, there were no legs with my order. I have been calling Customer Service every other week and still have not received an answer as to when the legs will be shipped out. We purchased two rooms of furniture and while the bedroom suit was perfect, the leather sofa for the living room had a hole in the back. After several calls to the store and corporate office, it is 3 months later and the hole has not been repaired. Their customer service has much to be desired as there is no communication once you establish that there's a problem . I will never purchase anything else from the company and cannot recommend them due to the experience we have had. I am shocked to find out that Rooms To Go does not take returns. I received 2 rug pads that were delivered while I was out. I called RTG when I got home and informed called RTG and informed them that I did not need the rug pads and I would like to return them. They took my number and told me they would get back to me. I did not hear from them and called to find out what I should do with the rug pads. I was informed that they do not take returns. I asked what I should do with the 2 8x10 rug pads? I was told to sell them or give them away. I protested that I should not have to pay for something I do not need and the response was "we do not take returns." I now have to pay over $200 for 2 rug pads that I do no need. Why is this acceptable? I will NEVER recommend or buy anything from RTG again. read more

This is a follow up to my earlier review. Rooms to Go did help with low quality living room lamps, but the king bedroom set purchased in March for over $3,000 STILL has a chemical odor. I've spent money on sachets, baking soda, charcoal - trying everything recommended so my clothes don't smell. Surprise, surprise - their technician can't smell the odor. Interesting since I still can't put my clothes in the dresser or use the nightstands. When I try to use the drawers, I can smell the odor on my clothes as can others. Don't buy furniture from Rooms to Go. My wife and I purchased a sectional couch, a dining room set and 3 stools. We added a extended warranty for the sectional couch. After a little after 2 years the the recliner stoped working. We waited over 6 months for them to replace the defective part. Once the part was received we had to wait an additional 3 weeks for a service to replace the part. In less than 60 days after they replaced the part it stoped working. Purchased 7-piece Gianna king bed set and rug. Sales person, Rob, and delivery folks were great. The furniture had such a strong chemical smell I couldn't sleep in the bedroom for over a week. I still haven't put clothes in the drawers because they smell. It's a beautiful set and I see no reason to use formaldehyde and other chemicals which are known to cause health issues for many people. Then I tried to purchase a comforter set on line with my 20% Club discount and was told (after 4 transfers on chat) that it doesn't apply to comforters. I would never buy another piece of furniture from Rooms To Go. I have bought several over the years but the last one I bought was a leather electric recliner. Brown Palermo. Make sure you go out and spend $799 on this chair and make sure you buy the extra hundred dollar warranty on it. Then you can have a huge lumpy uncomfortable lop sided chair like mine. They sent a service man to the house through the warranty company and he turn the chair over stuff the square hunk of cushion inside the seat and called it good. You can see the square cushion pushing through the chair and it did not even the chair out, the frame is broken. I am still making a monthly payment on this chair so if you would like to get ripped off and have a lopsided uncomfortable chair to sit in and pay $899 for it make sure you get one of these too. If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered a couch 3 months back. Received it a month ago, damaged. The guy came out to look at it when he had an opening and told us to have them order a whole new section of the couch since it came damaged. He said it was 100% dropped when they were delivering it. They called my husband and told them they are ordering a part so I called and requested a new section but the can't do anything she says since it's not the 48 hour period of have the couch, well what am I supposed to do when the guy can't come fix it till a week later. What's the point of warranty if they don't use it (extra money for them.) Overall very disgusted with them. I went for the 4th of July sale any mattress any size for 579 which was very misleading. When we got there we met with David who was very rude and only out to make money he wasn't trying to help. The first mattress he showed us was great but when we asked him the price he said "5" which made us think it was part of the sale later to find out he meant 5,000. Then we asked to look at the ones on sale for 579 then he didn't even want to help us anymore he was very condescending and made us uncomfortable. He tried to push us to finance a $5,000 bed. We went in on Friday around 11 am to purchase a table a few other items since we were redoing our home . Once we walked in we did actually see a few things we liked but ended up being kicked out and refused service because my MOTHER who has asthma was wearing a face shield instead of a mask. Worst customer relations ever. Purchased a loveseat and sofa for about $4,000 on February 28, 2021 and was promised the sofa would be delivered (for a fee) on March 23rd and the Loveseat in March 31st. Receive a text on March 20 to confirm receipt that says the sofa will be delivered between 9-1 on the 23rd. I called customer service and waited on hold for 20-30 mins before finally pressing two to ask them to call me back. No one ever did. Finally on the 22nd someone called me back and I told them I needed to change the delivery date as I cannot be home in the morning as I am an employed member of society. They said, no problem. We can put it on the truck with your other delivery on April 2nd and all will come the same day. I said, perfect, I'll take the day off from work and it can come anytime that day. Today, March 30th I get a voicemail that says, "we will not be delivering your sofas, questions please call us...". I called and was on hold for nearly and hour and a half before I spoke to a human being. That human told me that because I changed my delivery date they gave my sofa to someone else. I was also texting with someone on the online chat since I was on hold for so long and no one would answer. He told me the same thing and that "we don't hold furniture" even though it was paid for in full and belonged to me. I asked to speak to a member of management and got Shala who told me she would call the Jensen Beach showroom and let them know I was coming to click out a new sofa and that she would send a list of immediately available sofas for me to pick from (which was what my original salesperson told me she had done). I arrive at the store and they did receive the exchange order but did not have a list. So the assistant manager begins his computer search and the best he could come up with was a sub-par sofa that was a piece of junk to offer me. I was livid. They were telling me I had to wait until the end of April to get a sofa that I bought in February that they GAVE TO SOMEONE ELSE because I changed my delivery date. So I told him to give me my money back and I would shop elsewhere. The guy didn't even try to persuade me to keep my $4,000 order or offer me a discount for their mistake or ANYTHING. I'll start with the fact that I ordered three bar stools in August 2021 they were supposed to be delivered at the end of February 2022. I thought that was a ridiculously long time to wait, but I love the barstools and I know there were some delays. They called me up and said that the barstools wouldn't be delivered in February, But I would have them in May. I have waited so long for these barstools I figured what's a little longer, they assured me that the barstools would be delivered in May. Then they called me up and told me the barstools wouldn't be here till June 28th. I said are you sure these barstools are going to be here, THEY ASSURED ME THE BARSTOOL WOULD BE HERE JUNE 28th I just received a phone call 5/27/22 that the barstools are not coming now till August this is a scam every time there supposed to be delivered they call me and tell me they're not coming. I know there are some delays with some things in the world today but this is ridiculous almost a year to get three bar stools there continually selling stuff to people that they cannot get. I HAVE BEEN SITTING ON FOLDING CHAIRS FOR ALMOST A YEAR BECAUSE OF ROOMS TO GO LIES. My friends come over to my house and make fun of me saying that I don't even have barstools to sit on. This past week I received a notice stating that they would remove any derogatory information sent to my credit bureau, THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!! I've never paid anything late in 40 years and because of this company I have my first late in 40 years on something I paid early. The furniture I bought - a lovely TV and entertainment center and a china closet are elegant and I am very happy with them. However, I also purchased two leather recliners that match that run on electricity- they are lovely to look at but one of them stopped working completely - and only stays in upright position. I felt that this would be taken care of right away but its been months -( 5 months) and although (after a long wait) they sent people to fix it - again and again, but after several attempts , none of the new parts worked at all. All winter I telephone them and after long waits, I was sent to one representative to another. I went to the store many times and they were kind and polite - but it had to go thru so many channels to no avail. Rooms to go is a terrible company to purchase from. Their sales reps lie to your face. When I went to look for furniture the sales rep said that he was going to hold the furniture with the no interest 5 year deal if I come back with a deposit. He stated that he would not set a delivery date until I came back in to provide the deposit money. A few weeks later rooms to go started to text and call me about a delivery which I ignored the calls because I didn't know what was happening. They came to my home and delivered the furniture having my husband sign as I wasn't home. When I asked rooms to go to come pick up the furniture because I never purchased it the store kept lying and giving me the run around about how they couldn't do the return and that corporate could handle it. When Corporate got on the line they authorized the return. Rooms to then denied the return after I hung up and called back saying that there was a miscommunication after they'd agreed to return the items. Mind you the furniture is still in the original boxes unopened. Rooms to go corporate and the store are both liars. The sales reps are liars. The managers are liars. Don't trust any of them. If possible I'd rate RTG Jensen Beach, FL negative 10 stars. I purchased nearly $4k worth of furniture from RTG, Jensen Beach. Upon purchase At the store the salesperson confirmed all delivery details, with me, including no freight elevator and multiple stories, open stairs with big landing, Apt was on the top floor of a low rise building. On delivery day, the RTG truck showed up to my Apartment. There were 2 delivery men and the RTG truck. 10 min into the delivery, 1 of the men came to my door and said: we have a problem. The couch does not fit in the elevator and we do not walk up more than 3 flights of stairs. At which time he called his boss, who also said no stairs. They began shouting at me and said I was wrong and if I wanted the furniture I would have to carry it up myself (mind you one of RTG's marketing tenets is DELIVERY) with the delivery men standing in front of me, I immediately called RTG and explained the situation (the furniture on the RTG truck. The manager: RTG Jensen Beach, Jose (told me he was one of many managers at RTG Jensen Beach) told me they use a 3rd party delivery service and in short : there was nothing they could do. In fact they would have a "team meeting to discuss the issue." He then went on to tell me that RTG delivery does not deliver above 3 floors, despite taking my money and signing a contract to deliver, they failed to fulfill. When I said I wanted my money back the manager said it may take a week or more. Mind you this was an abrasive conversation. Zero customer service, they didn't care about the delivery issues or refunding me asap. After paying $1,000's for RTG furniture from Jensen Beach and waiting a week for delivery of "in stock" furniture, RTG Jensen Beach, FL took me for a ride. They did not hold up their end of the sale and do not care about customers. I also called RTG corporate customer service and was given the run around and at the end of the conversation was told there was nothing they could do and if I wanted a refund I would have to reach out to the local store. Another disaster of a RTG call. No matter how sweet the deal or marketing of RTG furniture, best to spend your money elsewhere. Oh my goodness! This location is batting 100% in the delivery warehouse department. Two orders in which I received wrong pieces and the last one delivery was not even scheduled. Cancelled the order and got a refund. Three strikes you're out!!! Will never purchase from RTG again! It's a travesty because they have nice sets. Tried to order the couch and loveseat slipcovers for a year and a half for the cindy Crawford coastal collection. This was the whole reason why we purchased that particular set from RTG in the first place. After trying and not being able to get through on the website we went into the store. They even had an issue. Eventually, they said they navigated it. So we drove back to the store paid $727.58 and was promised several different delivery dates. SLIPCOVERS NEVER ARRIVED. THEY NEVER APOLOGIZED AND THEY ARE STILL ADVERTISING THE SLIPCOVERS FOR SALE AS A SEPARATE ITEM ,To my knowledge.
