Vernon was the only one assisting people that day but gave proper attention to all of us. He was able to answer questions, joke around, provide helpful information to all of us with out putting pressure on anyone. A couple of the couples were returning from previous visits and Vernon recognized them and greeted them with a "welcome back". We had researched a specific brand and model mattress prior to coming in. This is the only location in Jacksonville that has them on the floor. Vernon was able to provide both personal experience and facts about the mattress we were interested in. He offered his knowledge on comparable mattress as well. We bought the mattress and was able to take advantage of the sale that was active. They mattress takes around 12 days to be delivered and they offer services to remove your old mattress for a fee.

When we received the mattress, we received a plush mattress. I have fibromyalgia and never even tested a plush mattress while in the store. The only paperwork the owner gave us was a receipt and a piece of paper with suggestions for a new mattress- such as to give it up to 12 weeks to know if the mattress was right for you, along with the owner's business card. We never should've trusted that he had ordered what we'd asked for and should've made sure we had some sort of proof (though we had no idea what the "name" of each individual mattress was). We instead trusted that he was doing the honest thing. When the mattress and base arrived a couple weeks later, the base wouldn't work with our platform bed, even though we'd been assured it would. My husband was able to disassemble our bed and remove the platform, then reassemble it with the new base, so it would work. It was a few hours of work and a pain, but we made it work. The biggest issue was that our sleep was TERRIBLE. On a brand new mattress. Every time we laid on it, we'd both roll towards each other because there was no support. If we got up, there was a sagging spot where we had been. This was supposed to be a brand new, medium firm mattress. We kept telling each other that we needed to give it the 12 weeks to see if we'd adjust. We never adjusted, so after the 12 weeks we called the store and were told by an associate to come in to see what could be done. We went into the store and the associate that was there looked up our order and told us we didn't receive a medium firm mattress, we received a plush one. Again, we trusted that what we received was what we asked for. There was no paperwork upon delivery to confirm that, either. The order was placed by the owner, so we had to deal with him, and he wasn't there. A few days later we talked with the owner, who insisted that he had not ordered the wrong item and that's what we asked for. When we insisted that we had not, he told us he'd give us half of what we'd paid for the mattress towards a different one, but he otherwise wouldn't do anything. When we told him that it was theft to take our money and not deliver what we ordered, he became belligerent and told us that he would not be bullied into fixing this, his mistake. I understand that people make mistakes, but it should be made right when it happens. The owner of this store has a sign hanging up that says if you're not comfortable within a year of your purchase, he will make it right. Only he won't make it right. He's a good salesman, but won't stand behind his own policy. Don't shop here unless you want to be stuck with an expensive mattress that you dislike.
