Beautiful park in Edison . If you love the changing of the seasons and seeing Beautiful colors of reds, greens and orange in the leaves then you would appreciate this lovely park.We went twice since it was a short walk from my extended families home in Edison. They even have an adaptive field to play soccer for people with disabilities. I thought that was interesting and unique. We missed out on the ice skating since it was raining the day we walked there .I would absolutely go back for that. The veterans memorial was what really got me since grandfather was a World War ll photographer and dad and brother also have served. Freedom isn't Free they always have said .Being out in the cool 40 to 50's temperature with rolling hills and trails is what gets me up in the morning. Check this park out if in the area. A little fresh air and exercise is good for the soul.

Cool weather is made for running . Couldn't resist visiting this park close to some family to get a quick run in. With nicely paved running trails, ice skating rink and places to walk your dogs , it is a great place to enjoy some nature. I also saw an adaptive soccer field that was cool for people with special needs . It was padded and a large area to help if athletes fell from their wheelchairs or assistive device. Thought that was pretty cool. Went for several walks over the Thanksgiving break and would go back on next return to Jersey.

Very nice park where you can spend the day. So many things to do. They have an exercise area, a pond, rinks, tennis courts, basketball, tons of green space, etc. Great to have picnics or just ride bikes. They also have bbq grill areas that are great for a family cookout. Definitely a great county park with so much to offer.

This is a pretty big park. There were some people around the lake area with people walking around without masks but it's easy enough to walk around them since it's spacious. They have two tennis court areas at this park. One has 4 courts and the other has 3. It's very clean and maintained very well.

So I have to say I was pretty surprised at how beautiful this park is! I first seen this park when I would travel down 1&9 (pass Menlo Park mall) and then I seen the back of this park off parsonage road (I believe that is the road) also pass Menlo Park mall. Needless to say I was intrigued since I am always looking for new places to take my workout buddy (the furry one in the pics). So I finally decided to come here today after looking for parks to come to in this area and then came across this park on the "AllTrails" app. So I parked and then walked a straight path that leads down a hill. Once down the hill, there is a big beautiful pond in which there is a paved walking path going around in a circle (my total walk was about 2.4 miles). One of the main things that i noticed that I really liked is that people was sitting out on the grass on a blanket almost like a picnic just enjoying the weather (think Central Park vibes). There was also people running, walking their dogs. Funny thing is, even though the park was pretty crowded around the pond, it didn't feel crowded because it was so big. Overall, I really like this park (I'm sure you will too). I highly recommend coming here. FYI: there are several parking lots around this park.

This is a great park. I frequent this park in the spring and summer to jog and workout. Today I was taking the family ice skating. Unfortunately, didn't get the chance to due to the capacity and the amount of people waiting to skate. Nonetheless, a lot of cool things at this park if you follow what's happening in Edison. Great for family outing.

    Beautiful sundown at the park.

Great park - not sure about the walking trails except for the one around the lake. They have many b-ball courts in a couple areas of the park (by the lake and the entrance off of West Grandview). They have bbq grills set up for your use (not sure what the rules are), playgrounds for the kids, ice skating in the winter, and level playing fields for the disabled. I've also noticed a lot of people fishing so bring your rods if that's your thing. One thing to note during the 2020 pandemic - if you want to go to a park that's off the beaten path this isn't the place. A lot of people congregate to this park so if you're not here early in the morning be ready for a swarm. Mind you a lot of people aren't practicing social distancing and not wearing masks. Good luck, be safe, and enjoy! #wearamask

Today is a beautiful day to walk at Roosevelt county park. Trying to get 10,000 steps in.

Edison's largest park is within walking distance to/from Metropark, Menlo Park Mall, and what used to be Roosevelt Hospital. The most prominent feature is the Lake, which is surrounded by a walkway that is shared by joggers, runners, and bicyclists. The tennis and basketball courts are usually occupied, and the picnic grove requires advance reservation on weekends. Feeding the duck population is expressly prohibited, but many visitors continue to do so anyway. If you're a runner, you'd be better off running the larger perimeter of the park instead, into the woods (no pun intended) towards the direction of Plays in the Park, where there are fewer children, strollers, tricycles, etc. If you entered via Parsonage Road, getting out the way you came in is sometimes a pain because of the one-way, single lane road that circles the lake, passes through the parking lot of the Lakeview School, and finally exits onto Parsonage right after the underpass, which creates a slight blindspot. The only other ways to drive out of Roosevelt Park involve driving towards Rt. 1.

Really nice park to go to if you live near New Brunswick. Would occasionally go here with my friend during my time at Rutgers. The best part is that the ducks and birds would pass by if you were sitting near the water to see if you had food , haha.

Great family-friendly outdoor ice skating rink during the winter. Plenty of space for family picnics during the summer.

My favorite local park with beautiful lake to run in the morning and to walk in the evening and watching deer on the lawn

In the 1930's, President Franklin D. Roosevelt stimulated the economy by putting people to work to build this beautiful park. Apparently, no money was allocated to renovate the restrooms in the recent stimulus plan by President Obama. Nonetheless, this is a great park for relaxing walks! Cherry blossoms are blooming! They allow you to fish from the lake (signs up state they put fish in the lake for fishing). One star off for the not so nice ladies room, but if you must go, there is a Nordstrom nearby (2nd floor ladies room has been newly renovated!) where you can also admire the latest designs by Diane Von Furstenburg and Marc by Marc Jacobs, as well as refresh with an iced coffee or tea.

Really beautiful natural park! So peaceful & calm. This Tree is near the play ground

    Can i do barbecue?

Yup. As long as you use charcoal. In the summer the spots fill up fast though. But you can reserve also by calling the center

Thomas Edison Park has its own parking lot (which has a lot of potholes), but if you're here to use one of the 16 tennis courts, parking in one of the MCC lots and walking through the chain-link fence gate is quicker. From dawn to dusk on weekdays, the gate leading to Rartian Center is open, which allows office employees to take walks in the park during lunchtime. The baseball, softball, and soccer fields are popular with locals on the weekends, as evidenced by the contents of nearby trash cans. The asphalt walkways are popular with the cheeky Canadian geese, who seem to enjoy deliberately defecating where people walk rather than on the grass. Metal benches and bleachers are strewn throughout the park, along with some wooden picnic tables by the parking lot. Interestingly, this park is the only one in Middlesex County designated as a "Model Airplane Field". Since the wide, open, unobstructed fields here lend themselves to being very windy, this park is also a good place to fly kites.
