They're always on top of things and never make you feel like you're bothering them. The teachers here are truly invested in their students. You can tell they care, not just about academics, but about who these kids are as people. The aides are amazing too. They are all super helpful, always jumping in to support both the teachers and the kids. I also have to shout out the SMART Time teaching staff. They are incredible. Teachers and Staff communicate constantly, they bring things to your attention right away, and they don't let things slide or get lost in the shuffle. They work with you and your child to make sure your student is getting the best support in every area, academically, socially, emotionally. You always feel like you're part of a team. Overall, GVA is a school that really shows up for its students and families.

All they told me was that I was stuck in regular classes and they wouldn't move me up nor did they even try to help me move up. I was just sent away with no direction given. At Enoch's, I worked hard and earned good grades and the counselors gave me the encouragement I needed to believe in myself. At Enoch's, they helped me and led me in the right path and moved me up to CP classes. At Beyer, all I felt was doubt in my future. Enoch's gave me hope and opportunity. Now, I am proud to say that I am a nurse.

Last year we both went at different times to pick our son up and we were both told that we cant come an hour before school ends it's to early! Makes no sense we were late to our appointments because of this. Even the staff and vanguard were shocked when I told them. This year they changed it i guess and claimed it was never like that well I'm not sure but it happened to us both on separate occasions. Also they called me to pick up my child but my child wasn't even in the office when i got there still had to wait for them to walk up to the front. And they make parents wait outside I understand it's for Stafety but if it's raining or cold who wants to stand in the rain there's nothing to stand under. Really my problem is with the office staff especially the one who I'm assuming is the receptionist she's so rude the one with the long black hair. its an ok school, some of the staff are rude and disrespectful, some of the teachers argue with…read morestudents for no reason, one of the special ed teachers treat the students poorly and name calls, the school security takes a while to break up fights, you can never walk into the bathrooms without getting hit with a cloud of thc or vapes, some of the staff are helpful and actually care about the students while some seems like they are there just for the money, the school doesnt take reports seriously till its to late, theres also "la loma pages" on instagram and when they get brought up to the staff they brush it off, when a student reports another student have s/i they do absolutly nothing about it and brushes it off. Kanaly loves to harass some students to, the entire year someone i knew was being harassed and when they defended themselves she gave them detention. The schools automated messages are annoying to, pretty much getting calls every week. A student has also broken something of mine and when i reported it to the staff they did absolutely nothing. Some of the school security is pretty nice, Alexis and Angie are the sweetest and most helpful, The (majority) of the staff are helpful and have a lot of patience, 12-14 year olds are not easy to deal with and they (usually) handle situations well. Crazy to know a teacher was smokin weed in the middle of a class and a teacher kissing a student. The camp security john is a bit rude but can be nice sometimes, I have heard him saying several times that he cant wait for someone to act up so he can get them in trouble. Overall, not a bad school

Second of all, the PE teacher, Ms. Kanaly or whatever her name is I do not care at all. Do I have a fat bone to pick with her. She recently called home to get my child in trouble saying that he was not dressed out for PE. When in reality, his butt crack was just showing slightly. And he is pretty chunky but that shouldn't be a reason to call home. Yesterday, they called AGAIN. This reason was because my child finished state testing early. Can you believe they got him in trouble because he finished early. My daughter works as a substitute paraprofessional, she came home to me after working at the school for the first time telling me how the school gets kids in trouble for silly reasons. If they keep calling home, I will call MCS and put a huge complaint. I am sick and tired of my kid getting in trouble there. Also, the so called PE teacher has parents phone numbers on hand to call whenever she wants because she thinks she has the upper hand. DO NOT and I can not stress this enough DO NOT tell me to deal with my child with his behind. If I hear that again, coming from a school staff employee I will not hesitate to call the superintendent.

She comes home every day from school telling me all the new things that she learned including her alphabet, counting, sing-along songs, writing skills etc. She is always excited to go to school, and is well monitored while there with multiple teachers supervising in the classroom at all times. You can tell the teachers have a passion for children and genuinely love their job. They have flexible hours that you can adjust to fit your work or school schedule. They offer full day school and extended hours which is difficult to find for toddlers. There IS a waiting list, but it is well worth the wait! I highly recommend the program

We had an option to enroll her at GVA with her other cousins but so far my sis- in - law has had some issues with them nothing major but enough for me not to feel comfortable with. When my nephews first got here (Everett elementary)they were behind in school due to my sister not taking them in Lodi, that's when we became legal guardians and enrolled them here, right away the teachers were very helpful and did everything they could to help one of my nephews catch up they split him in k/1st grade it was a lot for him but the teachers worked very hard for him. I now have two happy healthy boys and I thank the twins Ms. Vaughn and Ms. Vaughn for helping my nephew get through this rough patch.

I think Gabriela (one star review) did make a point that I heard my son make in that the popular kids and athletes are put on a pedestal. But hasn't that always been the case. His advice on classes is take the advance placement or AP classes instead of the regular classes. He found that the teachers are more engaged and the students better behaved. In the advanced classes he was "always" able to complete his homework in class because work time was quite. My son is now at Chico State and thriving thanks to the foundation that Gregori HS gave him. One last comment to Gabriela, no school is perfect and it is great that you support your child, but you need to potentially look within to identify what or who the true source of your discontent is.

Ustach Middle School has staff members who CARE! Being able to interact with them, you can tell how…read moremuch they want their students to succeed. They provide before and after school clubs, rewards for positive behavior with the PBIS Store, school fesitivals and many more ways for students/families to connect! Not every school is perfect but this school tries to make an impact on students and families. The culture at this school is improving every year and they are making a positive impact thanks to the hard work of staff and students.

He asked me to bring it to the office, but he doesn't have his phone so no way I could get ahold of him. I come in and she tells me to just put it on the table with his name. The sign above the table says 'staff is not responsible for the items- and they will not call the student to let them know it's there.' I ask her to call for him because he doesn't know I brought it- she tells me he won't hear it because he's in the cafeteria, but calls anyways. Another mom comes in with a laptop- she just tells her a name and asks to make sure she gets it. Joanne calls out for this student and immediately the student comes for the laptop. (Didn't tell the mom to place it on the table with a sticky note like she told me). I didn't leave because I wanted to make sure my son got his jacket. I waited 30 minutes. Finally she called a second time and he came up immediately to get it. Had I not sat and waited I don't believe she would have helped at all. He had to be at recess for a full 30 minutes without a jacket. - and as a mom I could never do that to another kid. I find her extremely rude and unhelpful and not a good fit for the very first person point of contact in the office at the school. Had I come in for a doc appt or something they would have had him come to the office immediately. I know there are systems in place to get ahold of the kids and she just chose not to help and wasted 30+ minutes of my day.
