When I visit Fearrington I have to get pizza from here. This is one of my favorite places. Large outdoor patio space. I used to come here when they had musicians playing and you can order pizza and listen. It was such a wonderful date night/family night activity. read more

I was glad to learn that now they are also open on Thursdays so we placed an order for a cheese pizza and a pepperoni one for pick up. They were okay. The cheese one looked nothing like the picture from where you order online; mostly sauce with a little spot of cheese per slice and a very thick and burnt crust. The pepperoni one was as well just okay; same very thick and burnt crust. Also didn't like the set tip options. Either 0 or 10,15,20% with no customizable option available. I am so grateful that this place is close. This place is awsome and everything here is magnificent. Taste: All of their pizza is one of the best thing I've put in my mouth. I love wildfire pizzas but these pizzas are top notch. Made fresh, each ingredient is top quality that can be confirmed by your palate. I love Italian pizza with grapes- omg. Mouth salivated just now. Their margarita pizza is so fresh and gourmet. Pizzas dough is made perfect for soft, chewy in the center and crispy crust. Price: adequate and fair price. This place is you order and eat it in the patio with live music with anybody. Great for whole family and friends. Pet friendly as well. Everyone are courteous and very nice. Fun place to visit- weather permitting. Pizza was great along with some rosé wine. It would've been a 5 star except the line to place your order moves very slowly. Next time I'll bring a cooler with drinks since I noticed that many other people were doing this. read more

Roost Beer Garden is open seasonally and offers a beautiful patio and seating to enjoy pizza, beer and live music. We ordered pizza and beer inside and when your order is ready , the buzzer rings and you pick up the pizza from the window of the little house. The pizza is made fresh and the chicken pizza and honey crust was fantastic. The beer and wine here is served in plastic cups so if you want a real wine glass, get it at the Goat and bring it over. There was live acoustic guitar and people were sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery. I highly recommend getting a pizza. read more

We enjoy going here on Saturday afternoon or evening. They have live music, drinks, and oven-fired pizza. There is plenty of seating, plenty of green space for kids to run around, a nice fountain in the center, and it's just a pretty setting. I think the pizzas are too expensive, but I think that about all oven-fired pizzas. read more

What a lovely spot to spend a weekend evening. Live music, string lights, delicious pizza and local drafts on tap--what's not to like? We came here and enjoyed the cauliflower and kale pesto white pizza, which is one of the best I've had in a long time. The crust was yummy, cheese was perfect and the texture was just incredible. One pizza can easily feed two people, but I think the best idea would be to get three pizzas for a group of four. Then you can try a bunch of different flavors :D read more

This place is pretty good but the last two times I've been there the dough wasn't the same and the pizza was literally smaller and puffy. I would consider myself a pizza pro because of all the training I've done in restaurants so I am not full of it or being a jerk. The reason I believe the quality went down is because last couple times the Managment was nowhere. The lady who runs this place should be there or her husband. They should know that when they aren't there the product fails on every level. Dough lacks flavor and texture, the pizza is not shaped correctly causing puffy egg looking pies and wet and uncooked pizzas that are flimsy. The way to test if the pizza is done is the fold in half trick. If you pick up the pizza and it doesn't fold in half it's not ready. No if and butts about it, this is the way to check. The reason why I gave it three stars and not two was because I've been there a few times and it was really good but the last two times itsbeen pretty bad thus three stars. Update: I went back to Roost with my wife tonight and the owner was there, hence the 4 star review Ftom a previous 3 stars. First, the dough was delicious, both lite and crispy. Second, the product came out picture perfect and was cooked superbly. Thank you to the chef/owner for providing a tasty experience. read more

The turn out on a Saturday night happy hour was pretty strong, but my family and I were able to secure a table near the performer. We popped into the small take-out spot to order a pizza to share, beers, and wine. You grab a buzzer (that alerts you when your pizza is ready) and return to your table to enjoy the guitar player in action. Our pizza (prosciutto, pancetta, Italian sausage, salami, smoked mozzarella, pickled raisins) was delish, the service excellent, and the backdrop relaxing. Will definitely return! read more

Fresh handtossed pizza pie in a wood fired oven. I normally avoid eating the crust to cut down on the carbs, but I failed with this one as the crust had excellent flavor. Stopped here after a long, hot day at a lacrosse tournament. The restaurant was near our campground, so we chose it for convenience more than anything. We ended up loving it. The setting was shaded and peaceful. Craft beer was on tap. And the pizza...hard to find good wood fired pizza these days. These were amazing. My husband and I shared the meat pizza and the kids had the 6 cheese. No skimping on toppings here. Fabulous food, so we'll be back next time we're at Jordan Lake. read more

One pizza is big enough to share, especially if you plan to get gelato in The Goat for dessert (recommend toffee pretzel...mmm). Music was from an acoustic guitarist who was very good. Even if you aren't staying at the Fearrington Inn, you'll feel like you're on vacation when you're on the property. The outdoor space is great, but the pizza I ordered was puttanesca and supposed to have capers, olives, onion, garlic & parmesan cheese . They literally dumped a jar of capers on the dough, -- and there were no black olives. It was awful. My friend ordered pizza with chicken and it was so salty she threw it away. The farm and setting is very beautiful, but the pizza wasn't good. It was made fresh, but the flavor was just off and not tasty. My kids hated it too. The moment it hit my 2 year olds mouth she literally spit it out. Roost could easily be more: more music, more comradery, more space. It isn't though, because it feels more like a patio occupied by friends than a village center. Nestled within the Fearington village center, it is an exercise in middle class leisure. Roost is an unpretentious, simple courtyard, made garden by the many chortling drinkers, dancing children, and locally grown pizza toppings. Friday music is fun, not exceptional, but relaxing. Roost is a good choice for a laid back Friday's pour of beer and slice of Neapolitan pizza. Pizzas then. They can be a bit pricey, ranking in value though with the Napoli pizza truck and Mercato in Carrboro. 12" pizzas and a glass of wine will feed 2, but get a second for leftovers and an opportunity to try the special and the confit duck. The white pizza special was generously and evenly spread with crispy kale, roast garlic and mild cheese. The crust was thin and frankly more cheese than dough. It was wonderful. For a red sauced pie my fellow eater and I enjoyed an italian sausage and asparagus option with; sweet sauce and relatively little cheese, a truer classic italian dish. Local beer and house ice cream cookie sandwiches round out the meal as the sun sets. Wandering Fearington is enjoyable, animals to watch, a bookshop to peruse if you're there earlier than Friday evening. All in all Roost is an out of the way but welcome option away from the crowds of Chapel Hill. read more

Just moved to Fearrington Village yesterday and we stopped by the Roost on a beautiful NC day with our dog Maggie. Eclectic group of people, plenty of shaded seating, small but great selection of Pizza, draft beer and wine. On the steps of the Roost was live entertainment. Nice place to spend a couple of relaxing hours listening to music....or gathering and catching up with friends. read more

Used to be much better. In the past year management has limited the refreshments you can purchase at night to their own thin crust pizza, which is expensive for what you get. The prior pizza vendor (Capps, I believe, which was popular), is no longer able to sell there in the evening since Fearrington built their own pizza oven. We miss the days when you could take the family, order a sandwich or hot dog with potato salad while listening to the live music. Also, if you order coffee, which comes in a paper cup, you are now charged 50 cents for a refill. Really, does Fearrington need that extra 50 cents? read more
