Roost Beer Garden is open seasonally and offers a beautiful patio and seating to enjoy pizza, beer and live music. We ordered pizza and beer inside and when your order is ready , the buzzer rings and you pick up the pizza from the window of the little house. The pizza is made fresh and the chicken pizza and honey crust was fantastic. The beer and wine here is served in plastic cups so if you want a real wine glass, get it at the Goat and bring it over. There was live acoustic guitar and people were sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery. I highly recommend getting a pizza.

This place is pretty good but the last two times I've been there the dough wasn't the same and the pizza was literally smaller and puffy. I would consider myself a pizza pro because of all the training I've done in restaurants so I am not full of it or being a jerk. The reason I believe the quality went down is because last couple times the Managment was nowhere. The lady who runs this place should be there or her husband. They should know that when they aren't there the product fails on every level. Dough lacks flavor and texture, the pizza is not shaped correctly causing puffy egg looking pies and wet and uncooked pizzas that are flimsy. The way to test if the pizza is done is the fold in half trick. If you pick up the pizza and it doesn't fold in half it's not ready. No if and butts about it, this is the way to check. The reason why I gave it three stars and not two was because I've been there a few times and it was really good but the last two times itsbeen pretty bad thus three stars. Update: I went back to Roost with my wife tonight and the owner was there, hence the 4 star review Ftom a previous 3 stars. First, the dough was delicious, both lite and crispy. Second, the product came out picture perfect and was cooked superbly. Thank you to the chef/owner for providing a tasty experience.

Local crafts + wood fired pizza + live music + low key outdoor seating = a Carolina state of mind. The turn out on a Saturday night happy hour was pretty strong, but my family and I were able to secure a table near the performer. We popped into the small take-out spot to order a pizza to share, beers, and wine. You grab a buzzer (that alerts you when your pizza is ready) and return to your table to enjoy the guitar player in action. Our pizza (prosciutto, pancetta, Italian sausage, salami, smoked mozzarella, pickled raisins) was delish, the service excellent, and the backdrop relaxing. Will definitely return!

Margarita pizza - mozzarella, tomato, and basil. Perfect size for two to share.

Fun place to enjoy delicious brick oven fired pizza, wine and beer. They have live music also. You eat on the patio under the trees.

They have a piano player playing quietly to really create a lovely atmosphere for a quiet dinner where you can talk with your company. The menu is à la carte. The worst thing is deciding what to eat because you want to order everything on the menu. We had a group of 4 and we all ordered different entrees. We started with a bottle of wine but their cocktail list looked amazing and I will try that next time. The bottle we ordered was on the dry side but ended up complimenting our meal very well. I ordered the beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and mushrooms and it was excellent. Perfectly tender. My table also ordered stuffed scallops, the ribeye, and the halibut. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu because the sauces served with each meal really brought out the flavors. The dessert menu was also excellent. They offered a gluten free apple streusel and it was so great to have a dessert.

My husband had to park the car and walk around the building until he saw their small sidewalk sign at the restaurant entrance. We were meeting another couple there for dinner. They did not have our reservation on file and we were seated at a table right in front of a jazz trio which made easy conversation nearly impossible. We asked to be seated further back in the restaurant but were told those booths were reserved. By the time we left the place, no one had been seated at those booths. The service was very good. We ordered the short rib and it truly was one, boneless rib, about 4 to 5 bites for $35. Sides are extra (mashed potato side for 2 is $12) and a slice of bread was $1 each. The short rib was tasty and tender but had too much fat and hard to believe it was 8 ozs. The ricotta cheesecake was an excellent choice for sharing a dessert. A beer was the only beverage we ordered. Total, with tip, was $135. I think the restaurant is too small to have a jazz trio which made it nearly impossible to talk and after a while, you start wishing they'd take a long break. I think, as a whole, the food is over-priced and the loud music ruined the ambiance and conversation and the meat portion fell short of our expectations. I'm not sure we'd make the hour's drive again to dine here.

They will turn their noses up at you for asking simple questions like when their upstairs bar is supposed to open. And that's if you can get their attention. (they're not really a busy bar.) they are ignoring you. And they say they are a "restaurant" but the food is inconsistent. You never know what they have, if they have anything at all. Really a place for people who like to do nose powder *sniff*. Used to be a safe place for LGBTQ. It seems like they only open the kitchen for certain people. But show up when you search up food downtown... They keep it dark I guess to help hide with the sexual harassment happening on the dance floor. I watched their own karaoke host to be groped. And nobody did anything. Also had a friend drugged without consent here... Not only that sometimes they charge you after you leave make sure to take a picture of the receipt after you close your tab! They like to make random charges like Apple I've sent other friends there to try and have a good time and they have all told me that they're never going back to Durham after going there... Durham has good spots. This is just isn't one.
