Came to Rooster Heaven for our first time today for an event and had an outstanding hunt! Came across more birds than were set for us, and we had some outstanding host and members to make us feel welcomed. We will definitely be back for more hunts in the future as-well as already planning our memberships for next year. Duke was extremely kind with his knowledge and we ran into a huge group of pheasants right where he said they would be, not to mention him cooking a great homemade lunch for all! This place is amazing !!!! Last time I saw this many dove I was down in Argentina hunting. I actually ran out of shells so make sure you bring an extra case or 2. The people there were super friendly and helpful. I am making this my Dove Hunting spot for now on !!! read more

Quality hunting experience (pheasant) on Jan 1. Great facility. Great habitat. Wonderful dogs and handlers. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at rooster heaven. Even the gentleman who breasted our birds did a great job. I would highly recommend this outfit for a hunt. We had a group of 8 hunters-four went with one guide and four with another. Did the big blast shoot. Payed for 21 birds. Found our 7 quail and 7 pheasants but never found one of the seven Chukars. I asked when I came back to the club house but was blown off. If you go, ask to put out the birds yourself so you do not get ripped off! Yikes....never been to club that I had to do the work :( read more

Very big club, unfortunately our hunt was scheduled on the day after the huge rain/sleet storm hit so we were unable to run the entire length of the field due to flooding, but their "unflooded" portion of property was still larger than most Hunt Clubs around Chicago in their entirety. To say The Club House was very casual would be an understatement, members were very accommodating and friendly. One guy stripped down to his boxers and put on his "going home" gear in the middle of the dining room and never skipped a beat in his ongoing conversation with his pals..just awesome! If you're one to have a beer/beverage after a hunt, byob in a cooler packed with ice..bring some solo's there's no service, no menu and no bar. THE HUNT: We had a blast, I took my son here for his first pheasant hunt. Our guide was as nice and professional as could be and his dogs worked really hard,... really hard. We snatched up 17 birds, all accredited to our guide was as relentless as he was cordial. I couldn't have been happier. My boy was floored.. I needed a go-pro, the look on his face when he dropped that first chicken.. priceless! He's hooked for life! I'd give it 5 stars, but I wouldn't want to mislead the Richmond, Halter, McGraw etc. club goers or insult their members, although this club is larger than all 3 of those combined and the birds (all for one) really got up and went. The grounds are not as well "put together" as the aforementioned clubs, but there is nice cover, and some good walking paths carved out if you're one of "those guys". You do not have to be a member to hunt, but there is a $50 tack on for "guest fee"/person Cost is about the same as other clubs $25bird. Unless you're a member there are no "packages" that make any sense. As one would expect, there's some guide fees and clean up fee's, all very reasonable. I'm going back soon and hopefully often. read more
