I reached out to Daniel about 6 months before we were ready to pick up a puppy and got on the waitlist for our future litter. Due to our extremely picky preferences we ended up moving to 3 other litters before finding the perfect puppy for us. Daniel was so understanding and was more than happy to let us move to the next litter to find the perfect pup for us. Daniel was super communicative with us throughout the whole process and even though I was worried I was asking too many questions he never made me feel bad at all. Daniel sent so many pictures of our future puppy once she was born and kept us in the loop about everything. Daniel's early training has paid off for us-- our puppy is super great in the crate and is doing amazing with potty training. She loves everyone she's met and is just a happy, loving addition to our family. Thank you Daniel for our girl!

I can't say enough to express how much I appreciate this breeder. My puppy is almost 6 months old now and has been the best companion, well behaved, intelligent and sweet, and so easy to love. I credit Daniel and Two Doods Doodles for their professional breeding practices and continued support I get in raising the best dog I've ever had. And I've had many wonderful dogs but this one is hands down the easiest to train. I would love to adopt a sister for her and will most definitely return to Two Doods Doodles

My go-to stop before picking up my pups from the groomer next door, consider it my peace offering…read moretreat run! Parking is never an issue but there are a TON of signs stating to not leave your belongings in the car if so, you're taking a risk. I've never had an issues but I usually am just in and out (not the burger but you know) They have a good selection when it comes to pet supplies. We've been in for both our pups and our fish. They have a variety of fish in the back - (fresh and salt water) along with all the tank supplies. Take a look at their NFS tank - it's always filled with cool fish. They have an awesome selection of dog treats/food. The dog food is located in a separate section of the store - hard right when you enter & through another doorway. What keeps me coming back is the staff. On one visit, a cashier let me know a brand I'd been buying had gone downhill in quality and handed me samples of her top picks. That kind of honest, helpful advice is hard to find. The checkout area also tends to have timely impulse buys (hello, 4th of July calming chews) that actually come in handy. Great neighborhood pet shop with knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!

Rachael and David, who I believe may be the owners, or at the very least managers (along with their staff), are always friendly, inviting and extremely knowledgeable about animals and what food, or toys may be best for your pet based on your circumstances. They are always inviting and willing to help. I have also found that the pet food products they carry are typically healthier for your pet, more so than you may find at the big chains and box stores. The quality and price points of the pet food are fair and they often times have promotions and discounts. Many of the promotions are buy 12 and get your next one free (ie; bag or case of food etc.). Also, on weekends they have vaccination clinics and sometimes adoption events. They even have a dog wash inside. Check with the store to find out when and how often the Vaccine clinics, pet adoptions and dog wash is available. This place is located in Modesto, in a shopping center that looks like an old western town (corner of Tully and Standiford). Bottom line, I am glad to have found a personable store for all my pets' needs and to be able to help support a local small business.

From start to finish, getting our little Charlie from Shellie and the Rooster Valley Golden…read moreRetriever Family was amazing. We initially found a golden retriever online from one of the services where you basically buy the dog in real time from hopefully current pictures and a couple of weeks later someone shows up at your home in a van and drops the dog off. After talking with our Vet, we decided to give up our $2000 deposit and go the more traditional route. The entire experience with Rooster Valley was exactly as our Vet suggested. We got to meet all the parents, both dogs and humans, and see where everything took place. Shellie's Family is friendly and welcoming and we got to do a meet and greet when the puppies were four weeks old. We later went back at the eight week mark, picked our little guy and left happy. Throughout the entire process, we were able to watch the puppies grow and play and thrive. Questions were answered quickly, and we felt like we were involved through the entire process. I would say commit early. We committed to the litter before our puppy was even conceived. Because of that we got the ever-coveted pick of the litter. They were all winners, but we felt like our Charlie was particularly cute from day one and had our eye on him so it would've been sad to lose him to another family. It is without hesitation that we highly recommend getting your golden retriever from Rooster Valley Golden Retrievers. Thanks Shellie, let your daughter know, "Orange" is doing great and is just as cute as ever.

He came to us at 8 weeks already so confident and socialized. We have a 4 year old lab and he was totally comfortable with her and with our kids. He is so smart and sweet and a total love. The breeders were great the whole way through - willing to talk to us on the phone with any questions and he came home with a stuffed animal dog scented like his litter and with a hearbeat you could turn on - I feel like that really helped him adjust to sleeping alone in the crate. All in all, great dog, great experience!

I undertook a significant amount of research on Golden breeders in the extended area, focusing specifically on hobby breeders that had wonderful sir and dam lines that were well documented and highly reviewed. Tammy and Dream Golden Retrievers fit the bill. From the first series of communications, Tammy was awesome. It is so clear that she loves Goldens, and she provided us with a WEALTH of information. Everything from how to prepare our home and children, to the best vet to select, to the best trainers in our area. I can't imagine doing this on our own after having Tammy's support. Visiting the litter it was clear she had such an amazing Mom (Willow) and Dad (Doc) - https://k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=1081443. Tammy was very thoughtful in selecting our puppy with our input, and our sweet girl Scout has been wonderful. She is a blast at home, very smart and picks up to training quickly, and even our trainer has told us that she "fell in love" with Scout! Jam's Yorkies - Oliver the Yorkie Napping Under Anointed Cloth

Jam's Yorkies

Oliver is My Dream Jam's Yorkie!…read more I first spoke with Jam when her latest litter of Yorkies was only four days old. Just after that call, she sent me pictures and video clips of the pups, and I was blessed to pick the puppy that I had already selected a name for - Oliver (which means "peace"). Once I shared his name with Jam, she began calling him by that name. Consequently, by the time I brought him home, just under two weeks ago, he already knew and responded to his name. Over the subsequent weeks, Jam and I stayed in constant contact, with her sending weekly videos and pictures of Oliver and his littermates. Throughout the process, I was completely involved and informed. At about seven weeks, I was able to visit Oliver for the first time. He was about the size of my hand, and it was precious to begin the bonding process. What struck me when I visited was the look and feel of the environment. Jam raises the puppies in her home, along with her family, and the puppies get an abundance of love and excellent care. I was also afforded the opportunity to meet Oliver's parents and some of the other adult Yorkies in the home. All of the dogs were well-socialized, friendly, and well-behaved. I officially became one of the pack when not one, but two, of the adult dogs, climbed onto my lap as I sat on the floor, two of Oliver's littermates curled up under my leg and fell asleep, and finally, one of his brothers fell asleep between my feet. Needless to say, all of Jam's dogs love people. I visited Oliver again at about nine weeks and finally brought him home at 12 weeks. Before we left, Jam provided me with helpful information, one of Oliver's favorite toys that had his mom's and littermates' scent, a pack of treats, and items that I needed to get started. On the ride home, Oliver was quiet in his carrier, and thankfully, did not get carsick, which often occurs with small dogs or puppies. The first night in his playpen, he only cried for about 20 minutes and then slept through the night. The next night, he cried for about five minutes, and now, he knows when it's bedtime because I turn the lights off and leave a nightlight on for him. In the morning, at first, he would yelp if he heard me downstairs, but now he's completely patient because he knows that I will come up to get him. That greeting every morning is priceless and when I let him out of his playpen, he excitedly runs around me until I pick him up. As for personality, Oliver is amazing! He is a very playful ball of energy, healthy, and intelligent (he's already learned sit/down/come). He loves to cuddle and one of his favorite pastimes is falling asleep on my lap with his chin resting on my arm. He is also very independent. He's definitely my shadow, and one thing that I noticed is that when I have company, or if I'm sitting on the sofa, he will sit or lay at my feet until I pick him up. He loves people and gives them the same enthusiasm as he gives me, yet he will always run back to me during play. He has adjusted extremely well, does not bark or whine, has a mellow spirit, and is now learning to walk on a leash (indoors until it's okay for him to go outside). I so appreciate Jam's love for, and knowledge of, the Yorkie breed. She has been breeding Yorkies for about 16 years and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise. It is important to her to match the right puppy with the right client, so as a low-key, laid-back person, having a mellow-tempered Yorkie is a perfect match. I understand that some breeders let their pups go at eight weeks (which is too early for the natural separation of mother and puppy), and once the puppy goes to its forever home, the new owner is pretty much on his or her own. Not so with Jam. Even after I brought Oliver home, she checked on us several times to ensure we were doing okay, and each time I reach out to her for "how-to's" or other information, she is always responsive. I would highly recommend Jam's Yorkies to anyone looking for a reputable breeder who truly cares about the health and well-being of her puppies!

Had a heartfelt meeting with a Yorkie near my house and felt compelled to find a friend for my pup…read moreafter that encounter. Did my research and did it well! Was debating between a "farm" in the Sacramento region and Jam's, but saw red flags of likely a puppy mill at the other. Also, Jam took the time to talk to me because she wants to ensure that the pups are indeed going to great homes. Asked her if she had any pups available and she pointed me to the pup who is now my baby. His name is Bear (originally Wednesday), and I saw he was perfect. He is adorable and sweet and spunky. Drove down from Sacramento & got him in July 2023 and he will be 2 in February 2025. A lady stopped us on our walk the other day to say how much she was admiring him. Bear is the smallest of the bunch, but he is the head of the household. Thank you Jam!
