I purchased the 8 class package and they allow 45 days to complete use, before the class pass expires. SIGNING UP They use the zen planner app to schedule classes which is super easy and convenient! I love this! PARKING When I arrived, I found parking in the front. Finding parking can be hard in this area, so arrive maybe 20-25 minutes ahead of class start to be safe. THE SPACE The space is very cute. The right size, you don't feel crowded, and very clean! There are lockers for your belongings, a shoe rack for shoes, a basket for yoga mats...it's well organized! CLASS We started with a stretch and some basic workout moves on a yoga mat. There are 5 poles, and a max of 10 people to a class, so two people share a pole during class. Which is good because you get a break to listen more and rest when it's not your turn to dance. I believe my instructor's name was Jenn. She was very fun, gave good instructions, and helpful! She taught us a choreography that we did twice all the way through at the end of class. She encouraged us to record or final dances. She mentioned they'd be doing the same choreography for 2 weeks, which is great because "practice makes perfect"!! I'll definitely be back to perfect the choreo we learned!

I've been taking pole classes at Flight Risk Aerials (at their new studio in Randolph) for about 5…read moremonths now, and I absolutely love it here! I took a few aerial and lyra classes as well and I was very impressed with those classes too. Every instructor here has their own style, which makes every class unique, educational and interesting. The classes are normally relatively small (3-12 people depending on the day), so you get lots of individual attention and feedback from the instructors as well as whole-class instruction. Oftentimes we have to share poles, but this means that you make a friendship with your pole mate, which is a huge part of the experience in my opinion. The ceiling is very high, so we have very tall poles which makes moves that involve climbing, inverts, descents, etc. a lot more possible. This is a relatively small studio so naturally you will have more advanced folks coming to intro class sometimes and vice versa. Whenever there are many people in the class of different levels (i.e. some beginners, some intermediates, etc) the instructors always do their best to accommodate everyone no matter their skill level. I look forward to the studio offering more advanced classes soon. I've made many great friends coming here, as it is an incredibly thriving, inclusive community. It's always a very supportive, body-positive environment in my experience. I will certainly continue to take classes here as long as I live in NJ. I'll never go to a run-of-the-mill gym again. If you get the monthly membership, you get your money's worth after just 7-8 classes, which if you go more than twice a week is definitely worth it. Would highly recommend Flight Risk Aerials to anyone looking to get into pole, aerials or lyra!

Where else can you take an aerial silks class around here?? I don't know but I'd be more than…read morewilling to go back here for some other classes as well. A girlfriend planned a bachelorette brunch that started off with aerial silks as an alternative to the traditional binge drinking night of bad decisions-I would have went either way but this was a refreshing idea. The owner set up a paypal payment method so that whoever wanted to sign up could and it took the pressure off of dealing with all of it the day of. We had about 20 people show up for this event--it was a really nice group of girls and the owner (i guess, and her assistant) were both very nice and accommodating. So I can't elaborate so much on the experience because I'm stupid and hurt my back a week ago, didn't even think of it because it started feeling better but when I attempted to get on the silks it was just a no-go for me. I should have asked for a credit for another class as I sat out the entire time but it is what it is no biggie. So the silks hang from the ceiling, they are secure and you won't fall out (if you follow directions). They take you through a variety of poses and movements and help you into position if you need. Be prepared there is a significant amount of pressure put on the body wherever you are hanging from, so when you start out on the lower back that's the pressure, if you get into other poses with the silk wrapped around your hips or legs, that's where the pressure is. You might get some silk burn or some slight bruises but it's not like someone's punching you it's just a pressure thing. I definitely want to go back and try belly dancing, they also have pole dance, and chair dance. If you're looking for something different give this place a go!

I came across this studio through ClassPass and it was a awesome experience. Note: there are two different poles that are practiced on (chrome and silicone). I've tried their Choreography with Beginner Pole and it was a super duper fun experience (silicone). I was quite nervous since I've never used a spinning pole or silicone and it was cool. A lot of twirling for the basic basic learners AND sooo worth it. Mary is sooo patient with each student and it's open level (Im pretty much beginner level lol) It's based inside a warehouse (I think), instructions are clear in getting there and it's not hard to miss since it's fully decked out from the outside and inside. (So classy, so sassy) I definitely recommend to those who are interested (it's hard deciding whether I like silicone or chrome now haha)
