While we were waiting the bartender poured us a few drinks and he was super friendly. We order fried mozzarella, margherita pizza and sausage tagliatelle. The fried mozzarella was average at best. The tagliatelle was tasty. The pizza was initially good, but then we realized it was super salty, the crust was even super salty. Our server was a sweetheart, she was young and gave us great advice on where to go out after dinner, we are traveling with my 19 year old son. So although the food was not great, the service was top notch.

The app came out fast... however, the server just a quickly wanted to take it away even though there were still prawns in the dish. Then, we proceeded to wait 45 mins for the main courses. The seafood pasta was bland and had this terrible fish they claimed to be monkfish. Having had good monkfish, this would turn anyone off of trying it again. We were duped by the "woodfired" pizza, which was barely cooked through and just boring and bland. The only redeeming dish was the sea bass, which was actually cooked well, but still not super flavorful. So, all in all, only come here if you are desperate, have low expectations and aren't in a hurry.

Since you order at the counter, and don't have a waitress to discuss your food quality with, you don't have a normal way to ask for your food to be remade like you would at a normal diner in the U.S. I don't like the order at the counter setup unless it's a fast food restaurant and I typically avoid those. Overall a big vacation breakfast let down. I wish I would have went to Awaken, like I was originally intending on doing.

Don't usually see that combination at least in my experience. I did find that they seem to do the Indian better than the Italian though. Although the Italian was definitely not great, it was good. Cajun chicken was not really what I expect from Cajun but it was pretty good. The pasta was just OK. Tasted sort of like a cacio e pepe which tends to be bland. Onto the good stuff, Indian food. The chutney and sauces that came out before the meal were absolutely fantastic. I don't know if I've had a better fig chutney (I think it was fig) and the spicy chutney was also incredible. So the "careful what you ask for" part: My daughter and I tend to have a very high threshold when it comes to spicy foods. That said, we did stay away from the hottest menu items and went with some thing in the high'ish range. To be frank, we hadn't found a lot of spicy in Northern Ireland that even remotely tested our limits so we were confident this would not be an issue. I'm not even sure what we ordered but everything was a searing hot blur on both sides of the table, mine and my daughters, from then on. The flavors were wonderful but this just hit different... Now when I say pizza and pasta, please don't think I mean the usual pepperoni pizza and pasta with tomato sauce (although those have their time and place too). Oh, no. Oh, no no no no no. The pizzas and pastas in Coast are (as that old buffer Michael Winner would say) historic. The pizzas are made on a kind of flat bread which is their own recipe and I could eat it plain without a topping it's so good. But not to look odd, I do the right thing and order toppings like everyone else. Again the toppings are unusual are so so good. My favourite is chilli beef and onions. You get loads of lean beautifully marinated beef - my mouth is watering at the very thought. - and at under £6, this is outstanding value. You can throw on extras like rocket, chorizo, pancetta and sun blush tomatoes. Trust me, you have never had pizza this good. Pasta is an equally good choice - the chorizo carbonara is fab. Order a side of garlic bread, let out your belt and surrender to it. The tobacco onions are unmissable too - long strings of onions coated in something delish and deep fried. Coast is very child friendly and can be noisy in the early evenings so you may want to take advantage of the take away service - make sure you ring ahead with your order.
