Got a take away for three (£19.80) and it was an unpleasant dining experience. The taste of the salt & chilli king prawn and the salt & chilli chicken was very poor. The oily satay chicken was merely poor. The chilli heat was acrid heat in all three so it was just unappetising, bordering on inedible and not a bit of fresh red chilli in sight. A bit of fresh chilli won't break the bank but the whole ethos these days in many places is to make food as cheap and cheerless as possible. Only money matters and the fact the food is substandard is immaterial to them. The prawn batter was tacky and sticky, and it was just unpleasant. The King prawn dish contained fine sliced vegetables which were predominantly onion, then celery, green pepper and carrot. Once the prawn and veg was taken from the plastic container there was a residual pool of vegetable oil (see photo). Six tablespoons of oil. The fried rice was tacky too, it certainly was not boiled and left to go cold and lose its starch before being fried. The only decent bit was the free prawn crackers which were the better quality brand so it gets two stars as I feel generous. Pity they didn't think to make the main meals good quality too. I noted they had an overpriced two course lunch (£8) but I won't return and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There's always M&S Chinese ready meals to fall back on. read more
