Honestly the vet was good and communicative but I'm giving a strongly worded negative review…read morebecause they charged us $200 for an EKG- this is an absolutely absurd price to charge. If you google it, an EKG for a dog should be no more than $65, and I have never even seen a cash pay price for a HUMAN EKG as high as $200 (I work in healthcare). I am so upset by how overpriced this is that we are immediately transferring our dog elsewhere - I called and complained to them about the bill and I will tell anyone I know with a dog to not go here, and instead to shop around for a more reasonably priced vet- seriously absurd pricing has lost my trust in them as a business. Will not be using them for any further workup of the dog, however! Just because the vet is nice that's no reason to upcharge by 300% for a fairly basic service. Jeeze! BEWARE.

Maybe they're just to busy with their new business but I was expecting so much more. The staff are…read morewonderful. However, I feel the doctors could have done better. With a very sick dog diagnosed with CHF you would think that they would want to follow up with him and check in to see how he's doing. I would get a phone call the day after we saw him at the vet and then nothing until I ran into an issue. No follow up appointments scheduled, nothing. My other dog who had surgery they apparently did not think was necessary to see him after his surgery even though I called in with concerns of a non-healing wound. I was given an antibiotic without any proof that there was an infection going on. I work in the medical field. I know what infection looks like. Overall, I really just feel that both of my dogs' medical care could have been managed better.

Was very surprised by what we found, as I was wrong about his delimia. Found them more affordable than other agencies. I have 4 of 7 rescues left, and the pet industry is forcing we elder care givers of fixed incomes right out of affordability. I highly recommend his practice, and the staff was unbelievable patient w/my concerns and immotional state. An Easy 5 stars. I have worked w/vets in my past history, and this is a very deserving practice. P.S. I use Serento collars, and their quality is in question w/me at this point, I was very careful not to purchase on Amazon and many sites abusing the laws to sell ficticious collars, I would recommend u purchase directly from your vet, this is good advice. This practice is not hoggish on the price for them.

We used Dr. Livingston for my two dogs and five cats for over 10 years. She used to be great, but…read morenow she seems to be in it just for the money. She used to work with us to keep costs low. Now she overcharges and gives treatments without permission. Dr. Livingston quoted me a price of $500-$600 for my cat's megacolon surgery, and I ended up paying twice that. My cat died soon after, so I don't believe she had the skills to perform the surgery. Dr. Livingston applied flea meds to my dog and charged me for a full box of three doses even though they knew I had just bought flea medicine the previous month and still had two doses at home (and was already paying a lot for other treatments). She's constantly running behind. I'm a very easygoing customer, but it was ridiculously unprofessional. When I decided to leave their practice, I requested our records, and the receptionist rudely said she would have to get permission from Dr. Livingston and she would see if she could send them. They have to release our records by law. I felt like she was threatening to keep our records and trying to intimidate me into staying. I switched to Kolbrooks Veterinary Clinic. It's a longer drive for me, but their prices are way better and they've been super honest and friendly. I am very happy I left Animal Medical Center because I don't think I was treated very well there.

I moved into the area last year and unfortunately soon after settling in my dog tore his ACL and needed a TPLO surgery. This was his second TPLO surgery in 7 months, so I was extremely upset (as its a costly surgery and the recovery time is a long 6 months) and I was fairly savvy about the process by this point. I do have to say that the surgery price was higher ($4,000) than what I paid for his first TPLO surgery in Florida ($2,800). I do understand that costs vary by market, hospital, and situation. As they are the only vet within 200 miles that does this surgery, I am going to pay more for the specialty. I have worked in rescue for years so I have a fairly good idea of what to expect when it comes to medical procedures and price. Metzger's was very sympathetic to the fact that I had just paid thousands of dollars on a TPLO surgery 7 months prior and that I had just finished up a costly move. They worked with me on the price and got it down to what I felt was a more than fair price. They also treated my dog wonderfully and everyone I encountered was extremely professional and caring. Their facility is clean, state of the art, and their staff is knowledgable. It is a bit more expensive than your standard vet, but the peace of mind knowing my pets are in good hands is worth the few dollars more.

All the ladies who helped trim her nails and administer her rabies vaccine were just amazing; they were so upbeat and pleasant! I plan on taking my other dog there. Great practice and I've referred many Serious Pet Owners to Dr. Kocher…read more She took very good care of my senior Shih Tzu, Peppi during his advanced years and she listened to what I had to say of his symptoms, and she was very honest and ethical and did diagnostics such as bloodwork and X rays and prescribed heart pills accordingly. She never once tried to take me over in more than the needed diagnostics at all but did state there are additional options such as ultrasound and others if I was open to it which I was not. She never pressured me for more than what was needed to make a solid diagnoses however did let me know other diagnostics were available. She really cared about Peppi and understood he was my family. On two occasions she or Dr. Blizzard 'made time' for me when Peppi needed in same day due to being old and having heart problems which most all very old little doggies get if they live long enough. Dr. Kocher always explained everything of what was going on with him and she explained what happens in very old dogs with congestive heart and heart valve problems. She put the stethoscope right in my ears and had me listen to his heart beat which even I without any medical training could tell was bad but then explained why the valves weren't beating his heart right and after the blood work and x ray came back went over the blood work and showed me the enlargement of his heart on the x ray. She prescribed appropriate medications and her med fees are in line with all the other vets in the centre region and she didn't take me in this area. Her staff is so nice and very intelligent. These people cared about my dog and I was with State College Veterinary hospital for about 5 years as I moved here with my dog Peppi . Peppi had great care and I was treated very, very well. I like a one or two vet practice myself as the vet or vets know my dog and I'm not just a chart for a vet at a large multi vet practice. At a large multi vet practice and they do a great job also but really, I want the same vet or two vets only as I think the benefit to the animal is better in a one or two vet practice. The costs are in line with all other vet practices in the centre region. It's a small two vet practice which is a bonus for me, she isn't afraid to explain anything that's going on in common language, she will, or Dr. Blizzard, if really need be make time for a senior dog needing to be seen same day. I recommend this practice highly. If you are a Serious Pet Owner and care about the health and welfare of your pet this is the place for you.
