My husband and I have been here around 8 times in the last few years watching shows. First of all the shows. Wholesome, entertaining, and enthusiastic. Even though we have some favourites (Helen Keller, The Cariboo Magi) we haven't disliked a single one. So much so that we decided to book season tickets this year. Set design is amazing, and performer are always professional par. Such a cute town to get away to for the weekend. (We are from Edmonton and it makes a nice trip away). Also, very reasonable considering that it comes with the dinner. Which brings me to the lack of star...the dinner has gone downhill since we started even though everything else is the same. I would suggest that on top of having a theater school, it may be worth it to expand to having a culinary school there as well. Buffets are hit and misses to begin with, but after the 4th year of going, I noticed a huge difference this last year with the previous years. Food is predictable, same items being offered but the quality is definitely lower. It makes me sad to leave half my plate because it is either over/under cooked or doesn't taste right. However, there are really no other dining options in Rosebud for dinner theater nights and so with our long drive from Edmonton we will continue to eat here, but perhaps stick to the salad bar. Don't be deterred! Especially if you are coming from a closer city (Calgary or Drumheller) eat at home and just get tickets for the show! read more
