Situated in a line of stores right off the busy Glenfield road is this wonderful pharmacy with really helpful staff. I enjoy popping in from time to time and whilst grabbing my medicine, keep up with the latest vitamins for sale. During one visit I even participated in a zinc test to find out if I was low in zinc. I told the pharmacist that my son had white spots on his nails and I was told about a liquid drop he could swallow once a day to bring his levels up to the recommended dosage. I also walked out with a jar of zinc tablets for myself to keep my low zinc levels up to scratch. I do visit quite regularly during the year, and they recognize, acknowledge and greet me with a smile every time. I always feel well looked after and cared for at Amcal Glenfield.

Absolute SHIT SHOW…read more last week I had appendicitis. The doctor originally, and I quote, said "the story for appendicitis doesn't sound convincing to me, I doubt it's appendicitis"..... 12 hours later? You have appendicitis.. like okay! Great! A diagnosis for my pain! That's what i'm supposed to think right? my surgery was then delayed an entire 3 days where I stayed in the surgery prep ward forced to at this point starve because I was constantly told to fast and "oh you'll be having the surgery today/soon!" Now I'm back a mere 6 days later after post op, I have almost identical pain and issues as to when I originally had appendicitis, what do they do in the first 24hrs? Absolutely NOTHING. I came through the ED, was told within an hour (for once I got to see the doctor fast - come at 7-8am or else you'll be waiting a minimum of 5hours) that I needed to get a CT scan done and that it should take 1-2hours. I was like "Great!".... then the ENTIRE day, I get told by the doctors yea yea well do the ct scan, only to then do ABSOLUTELY NO TESTS ALL DAY - not an ultrasound, nothing - make me fast ALL DAY and then decide not to do the CT scan at all at 7pm after I specifically told them id rather do it and go home if nothings wrong than waste a night here for you to not do it at all. 12 hours of being there for absolutely NOTHING because they refuse to get tests done to prove things or diagnose you. They'll have an idea (based off almost nothing) of what your issue might be caused by and then they'll STICK WITH IT WITH NO PROOF. Never ever go to north shore hospital. I've NEVER had any good times here. Unless you have a broken bone or are bleeding you will NOT BE SEEN.

The first was a stomach problem, which was ignored and turned into a bleeding ulser. Now I have had medication that I have relied on for years to control cluster headaches at bay, changed by a doctor from there without seeing, examining or even speak to me first. Believe me if I ever need hospitalization again, I will crawl on my hands and knees over the bridge to get to Auckland hospitals area
