My mom passed away in San Antonio, TX and they coordinated with another funeral home and solved problems the one in San Antonio couldn't and transported her body from San Antonio to Little Rock. The staff was so courteous and caring and went out of their way to make me feel everything was under control because the last thing I needed was stress during that time. Craig and Mandy took amazing care of me and were patient with me during my constant barrage of questions and concerns. Also, the way my mom looked was incredible. It's almost as if they knew how she had looked all her life and she looked so peaceful and natural. They dressed her in an outfit my wife picked out and put the jewelry on her in such a classy way. The graveside funeral itself was such a special time for our family and was exactly what we wanted. Billy was so caring, patient and compassionate. I could tell this was more than just a job for him - he really cares about people and God bless him! We never felt rushed or pressured. If you ever require their services (and I pray it's a VERY long time before you do) this is the place you need to call. Thanks so much Smith Funeral Home for a job amazingly done!

My parents bought two plots at Rest Hills Cemetery in 1968. My father died 10/31/2015 and Rest…read moreHills could find no record of their purchase. My grieving mother escorted our assigned funeral director on the grounds and pointed directly to their plots. Still they could locate no proof of ownership. Thankfully my father kept meticulous records himself and we found all the original paperwork from 1968 proving ownership. Wouldn't you know it, all the sudden Griffin Leggett miraculously located their copy of the records corroborating that we did indeed have the exact two plots my mother pointed out conveniently obviating our need to purchase two more plots all over again for my parents. How lucky was that? My parents had excellent burial insurance on which they had been paying premiums since 1968 which was purchased through what is now Roller Drummond Funeral Home. Roller Drummond and Griffin Leggett have a mutual reciprocity arrangement whereby they honor each other's insurance. Having no experience with burying a parent or anyone else for that matter we were having difficulty understanding some of the service charges being imputed on us by Griffin Leggett while the language in the Roller Drummond contract (an original contract in our possession from 1968 signed by Mr. Drummond himself) seemed to specify they were already being covered by our burial policy. The funeral director displayed little interest in entertaining our questions to explain the policy and said "We aren't even making any money on this since it's Roller's policy and we'll never do this again". That is an actual quote from Griffin Leggett's employee. We were not being obstinate or argumentative we were just having trouble discerning if what we were being told comported with our understanding of the language in the contract my parents had in hand. Because of the funeral director's disinterest in educating us on our policy I asked if I could speak to a Roller Drummond employee for thorough clarity. The funeral director said "Sure" and directed me to sit at the receptionist's desk in the front lobby to make my call. I asked him if there was not a more appropriately private place anywhere else in their building from where I could call and he said "No". As I was talking to Roller Drummond's representative Griffin Leggett customers entered the front lobby and approached me thinking I was the receptionist and lacked understanding as to why I would not get off my phone call to tend to them even after I said I'm not the receptionist. Putting me and these newly arrived customers in this situation was inexcusable behavior by the funeral director. Please remember this is within 48 hours of my father's unexpected death. We were not emotionally prepared to deal with much of anything let alone callous behavior from people whose business it is to assist in these situations. I can only guess the people who walked in thinking I was a poor example of a receptionist were probably in a similar condition. We were told that due to his service in the Air National Guard my father would receive a plaque from the Guard that would be placed at the foot of his grave and that Griffin Leggett would take care of submitting the paperwork and getting the plaque installed. That was never done. Four months after Griffin Leggett buried my father they mailed him an invitation to a free lunch and seminar to discuss his funeral plans. My mother was thrilled to receive such a friendly reminder of her husband's death from the people who should have known better. It has now been two years and three months since my father's funeral. I would not have bothered to bring all this up in a review now until Ms. Mary Gayden from Griffin Leggett called me out of the blue last week and asked if I would mind coming in so she could review how Griffin Leggett performed in handling our funeral so she could close out the paperwork on my father's file. I agreed to meet and we set the appointment for today (1/11/2018) at 3 p.m. Ms. Gayden called me again this morning to confirm our appointment and I affirmed. My mother and I were on time and waited in the lobby where I felt like sitting in the receptionist's chair just for old time's sake. We waited 27 minutes where Ms. Gayden never showed up. Then we left. While the location is extremely convenient to us being literally at the front gate of my father's and what will be my mother's final resting place, we will have future services conducted at Roller Drummond's location. I will never willingly deal with these people at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills again.

We…read morewere very skeptical on using Rest Hills Funeral due to reading some of the reviews online first. We decided to come down and talk with a lady named Brenda, the funeral director with Rest Hills. The very first thing I noticed was how respectful and caring she was, even though they looked busy at the time of my arrival, she insured me that, there were no rush and I could take my time on making all the arrangements needed. I have been in many funeral homes over the years and have never had the experience that I had when I chose to walk into Rest Hills Funeral home. I was very impressed with the way they greeted me when I first walked in. Everyone that has lost a loved one especially the caring and loving person like my grandmother, the person who raised me. I did not want to think about anything, let alone my grandmothers funeral arrangement and they definitely saw it. Overall I was very satisfied with choosing Rest Hills Funeral home and will definitely recommend to anyone.
