I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.

What a moving tribute for those who prematurely lost their lives. This is a must-visit spot in NYC,…read moreeven if you aren't visiting the 9/11 museum next door. We had young kids who likely wouldn't understand or respect the solemn nature and gravity of 9/11, so we skipped the museum this time but talked to them about 9/11 at the free memorial park outside. I like that a flower is placed on the memorial plaques near the names of those who would have been celebrating their birthday, had they survived that fateful day. In addition to the names of those who died on 9/11 on the planes, Pentagon, and in the towers, they also memorialized those who died in the 1993 bombing. The two memorial pools (where each of the towers stood) are meant to represent visual absence of those lost, with the designing architect having two dropped voids of 20+ feet circulating water downward. He intended to convey that the voids can never be filled although the water-AKA life-still flows onward. Beautiful memorial and park. Lots of shade trees and benches for thoughtful reflection.

The area is done, complete with inscribed plaques all around. There were a lot of families reading up and enjoying the weather today but how this place looked different to me as a a kid. It's a simple space, pretty large and sprawling but it brings back many different memories. A nice memorial. The designers did a good job.

It would have been nice to have the option to sit in the garden, or even have some group photos taken somewhere other than the gift shop and parking lot. I think a few things could have been done to elevate the experience, for instance offering some refreshments or seating in the garden instead of waiting in the gift shop for enough people for the tour to start. If you're at all interested in this era it's worth trying for $16

I had the opportunity to visit the Liberty Hall Museum for a Yelp Elite Event…read more This place is so beautiful and is sort of hidden within the Kean University campus, not sure if that's intentional, but I love it. I was able to visit the mansion and was fascinated by the history behind it. As I enter one of the dinning room, I notice it was decorated for a young boy's birthday/Halloween party. Later on I found out from one of the tour guide that the little boy's birthday party was around Halloween in 1930. Haha! He's 86 years old and the decoration that was used in 1930 was the same decoration displayed today in that dinning room - please check my picture out. Now that's amazing! The rest of the mansion and museum is indeed historical and tells a special story. As I made my way into the British garden I was wowed. The garden is picture perfect and is well maintained. For those planning on having an outdoor and well reserved wedding, I'd recommend this place. For my fellow New Yorkers that don't drive. It's convenient to get to Liberty Hall Museum with the N113 bus from Port Authority! It's beautiful to visit during the fall!
