Plus it's lined with mirrors so you can check out yourself or others on the way up. Which sounds way creepier than I meant it to. They funnel you past the candy bar as you go up (no prices on display last time I went although this may have changed, which is annoying because I want to know how much I'm getting slugged for those sweet, sweet choc tops and gummi bears). The cinemas are big, they're clean every time I go, and you get to collapse into a cushy chair and forget about life over 2 hours of escapism. Yay movies!

The only problem is it makes it hard on me after a long day when your feeling a bit tired and got suckered into watching a movie but thankfully with the renovations comes with a hot drinks & cookie/cakes cafe conveniently located next to the counter where you buy your tickets :), not to expensive either, more Event Cinemas should have the same setup :)!! Long black keeps me pumped & charged for the entire movie, is good to know it's there when its needed :D!! Also like all big popular Cinemas in Aus the Candy bar is pricey but luckily Coles & Woolies are down stairs & they are both conveniently open till midnight :D!!

They are definitely worth the extra $9.00 for the comfort. A blanket will do, but the bean bed forms to your body and elevates your head for great viewing. We didn't use any of the concessions because you are welcome to bring your own food and beverage. The night turned out to be a movie with a picnic!! The bonus was the pre-sunset bat show, so arrive early. Another reason to get an early start is to get a good parking spot. Do yourself a favor and take the family to experience Moonlight Cinema.

Watching a movie at Moonlight does require a little prep because onsite food and beverage is limited. So grab a few nibbles, grog, blankets and cushions and you're set for a good night out. The place is so chilled, I've never seen a double air mattress for 2 at an outdoor cinema until now (genius if you think about it). Sitting on anything higher than a beach chair is frowned upon unless you're at the back, but the number of space available with clear view of the screen is ridonculous so you'll still get to enjoy your movie if you want to bring your recliner. But wait, there's more! They're doing $10 tickets for cinebuzz members (2 tix per member) at the mo so you don't need to restrict your movie dates to Tuesdays!!

So let us look at the markable qualities within and try and ignore the child burning, man-slaughtering, sexually abused themes of the film we saw there. The cinema is quite small compared to its blockbuster equivalents. The cinema we watched 'Blessed' in, couldn't have sat more than one hundred and twenty people, this is a plus in my books. Less people, less chance of a phone call, a crumpled chip packet or an older person who assumes the cinema is a pantomime. "Look out behind you Batman! It's Heath!" The tickets are relatively cheap as they do not do 3D and thus do not feel the need to rob you for something so unnecessary as the third dimension. The range of films they get in is always interesting; foreign films, small Australian films and even blockbuster films from time to time. The main issue with Dendy in Newtown is the parking, but that goes for the whole of Newtown. Trains and busses are available or it's a pleasant stroll through a cafe and boutique rich suburb should you decide on walking. Let's be honest, a fresh aired walk is just what you'll need to clear your head of suicidal thoughts after experiencing the latest Australian familial drama.

I saw the production, Stranger I Am, which was really unique in the sense that the audience was standing on the stage for the entire production. It was very abstract and unlike anything I've ever seen. In terms of the theatre, I would definitely see something here if you have the chance. The location is nice and they have heaps of set design work in the lobby for you to take a look at. Some sculptures are really really interesting. Cool place, just wish it wasn't so far away.

Instead of checking tickets and parking cars in groups of what movie they are going to see, it's a giant free for all. Cars driving everywhere. No traffic control. No one gives way. Eventually get in and park. Off for dinner. DISGUSTING. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. My husband and I are both extremely sick from eating the overpriced garbage they pass off as food. Before the movie started they announced ticket checks as people had snuck into the wrong movie, as it was sold out. Gate control and ticket checks earlier would fix this. That being said, there is something magnificent about going back in time and experiencing things from another era. Throw that in with our amazing western Sydney community and you are in for a treat! The comfort level is up to you. As a kid I remember we used to drive here in our 1986 Mitsubishi Star Wagon, all the seats would fold down which meant we could fit in a single bed mattress. We'd bring our pillows & blankets, open the boot of the car and fit all 5 kids lying down single file across the back. I have seen people bring camping chairs, two seater sofas on the back of their utes, camping tents and cars with really really really dark tint which makes no sense cause how can they possibly watch the movie!? Anyways, you really do need to be comfortable because you will get two movies for the price of one [unless stated otherwise]. $15.50 for an adult, $12.50 students/pensioners, $12 for members & $11.50 for kids. BYO snacks & drinks is a bonus. A word of warning for those who dislike smoking. If you have your doors open and/or windows down you will get that unpleasant smell. As the only drive-in in Sydney, there is not much to compare it to however, it is a great novelty and definitely one to experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone
