Maybe one of the longest lines that I ever saw in a Ross store. I was waiting at the jewelry cases, there were many things I wanted to buy for Valentines presents, so I rang the bell . One of the security guys came up and told me I had to wait in line and then when I got to my cashier, she could come over to the jewelry case and help me and then I could wait in line again. Security guy then informed me that that was now their policy. And I asked him is that Ross policy. And security guy said no, not really, but it's our policy for right now because we're so shorthanded. the store was not even busy but the lines were long and the Customer Service nonexistent. Empty shelves, bathroom out of service, staff overwhelmed... Lines to check out took over 8 minutes. Only redeeming factor were the prices are below the average. Plus do you really need super thug at the door... demanding receipts like they were the last chance passport to get out of the store is demeaning. The Zafarano Store has a wonderful security guard, the woman at the check out was very personable and kind. My complaint is that the store is always in disarray, dirty, unorganized, very unappealing for shopping. I understand it is a discount store, but, that doesn't mean the store has to be so mismanaged and sloppy. read more

Clothing is at least a month on mark down. No new clothes four weeks later. Clothing and new merchandise put out after 3 according to very Rude Manager. Drove two hours from Gallup. Can't wait until rush hour to travel home. Been shopping 20 years at other Ross locations. This store and Arizona look like the old Jupiter's stores in the 70's with trashy clothes and merchandise. If you have ever seen the scene in Meet the Fockers in which Greg is trying to board an airplane, but the airline lady won't let him until she calls his row, despite that he is the only person there, then you will understand my experience with this place (see pic). The sales person asked me to step back 2 feet to place myself behind the tape line before she allowed me to approach the check out. There was no one else around, but she made sure the 'rule' was followed. Oy vey. The store looked like most Ross stores: semi-ransacked. Yet, I was able to find a couple of brand name items for great prices. I try to remember that I will get the experience I pay for. read more

I went to this Ross yesterday to return a couple of items. I have never been treated so poorly by a customer service representative at a Ross before yesterday. The woman taking returns scolded me for not seeing the return line (hidden between clothes and displays). Then when it was my turn she did not greet me or say anything besides "what was wrong with these items?" She did not thank me for coming in, she just handed me the receipt and I left. I left feeling really frustrated and decided to call the manager. I described the encounter and she just said "ok, I'll let her know. Bye." Obviously, this Ross doesn't have much of an investment in providing adequate customer service. I will not be returning to this Ross and will instead go to TJ Maxx. I have yet to experience the same level of rudeness and disdain. I will be following up my complaint via the corporate website. I have my receipt which includes the customer representative number. I will be informing them about the terrible service I received yesterday. read more

Ross is like some strange hybrid of a garage sale and a retail store. They get all the leftovers from other stores, all the overstocked or out of season stuff that larger retailers don't want to deal with anymore. Not that the merchandise is shoddy or low-quality (most of the time anyway), but it is essentially clearance. As such, their stock is not constant, their prices vary, and the organization of things is usually not great. This Ross is average in nearly every respect. It's got the same hit or miss selection, the same slow churn of merchandise, the same frequent lapses in organization. But for all that, it's still worth a stop every now and then. When you do find something, it's usually way cheaper than it would be anywhere else. They have brand names and high quality stuff for much lower prices than other retailers. In fact, any time I need house wares, kitchen stuff, or miscellany, I check Ross first. They may or may not have it, but if they do it pays off. Lines are often awful at this location, especially on Saturdays, so plan your trips accordingly. read more

Make sure you have time when you come here! Every time I come in, I think, "Why has it been so long since I've been here?" Ross has great prices. Designer brands for a very discounted price. It's very organized so you can go straight to the section of the store that has what you're looking for but there is a LOT of it. Be ready to have to make some decisions between items. I am in there for hours when I go because the choices are so vast. It's one of my favorite places to go. They could clean the store a little better, though. Also, you can only take 8 items in the fitting room at once so that's a pain but I understand. The clientele is fine but I guess there may have been problems with shoplifting or something because security was very present. All in all, this is one of my favorite stores. read more

If they have more different type of brands and styles I'll give them more stars and shop there more often. When it comes to Ross I try to rate them by the rotation of clothing. Since i visited a month ago, the clothing selction has not really changed much... The home and decor section still has items that are not really suitable for the home or decor, and no specials have really blown me away either. In response to Mitt Romney's unabashed disdain for poor people, I have decided to spend some time reviewing businesses targeting lower-income families. Hey, many of us like to stretch a dollar, and some of us can't afford to do anything but. According to Romney, those less-fortunate among us are too spineless, entitled and/or ignorant to do anything but vote for Obama, never mind the concept of enlightened self-interest . . but I suppose that's better left for another forum . . . Ross Dress for Less is a dirty, disorganized and depressing place. Here you will find the generally unbelievable lack of customer service that is common of discount outlets. I would imagine that this company doesn't pay or treat its employees very well, and we all know that shit rolls downhill. So the company philosophy seems to be that if you are desperate or poor enough to shop (or work) here, you are a fool to expect anybody to give a shit about your level of satisfaction. Nobody gives a shit, ok, let's press forward. The key to finding a real bargain here is that you have to give yourself a lot of time to shop. You absolutely will not walk in and find something adorable just hanging there off the rack waiting for you, like you will at Anthropologie. No, in fact, you will have to think like an actual anthropologist and really dig through the dirt to find that valuable specimen. When I was younger and positively imbued with vim and vigor, I could do the clothes hunt. And you really can find your favorite brands at a much cheaper price! Lately though, I am just too jaded and filled with spite for humanity to be able to tolerate more than 20 minutes in Ross. I spend all day trying to be a good Buddhist, disciplining myself to emanate only goodwill towards all living things, and that headspace is thoroughly obliterated by more than 20 minutes inside of a Ross Dress for Less. So the plan is, head immediately to the housewares section. There you will find deeply discounted glassware, dinnerware, French presses, nice pots and pans, cooking utensils, and an almost whimsical selection of sauces, spices, and candy. I recommend buying shot glasses here, oddly enough, if you want to deal with your financial stress that way. They tend to have an unusual selection, sometimes hand-blown, sometimes Star Wars-themed (score! Bought 3 sets for 5 bucks each, and we're talking Original Trilogy, not that weak sauce prequel trilogy shit). They have some unique and well-priced bedding, rugs and small furniture pieces, plus cool throw pillows, shower curtains, lamps, picture frames, etc. So, in general, this is a good place to go if you're a young person or newly single person looking to outfit a new home and kitchen, or, like me, on the perennial hunt for that good, random, cheap shit. Do not go for the clothes unless you are very young and/or poor, or just want to challenge your threshold for tolerance. The clothing aisles are narrow and packed with ugly, repetitive crap and it's a hostile experience overall. If I can give this store 0 stars i would. Store was dirty and things were so disorganized. Worst part was the person working the register was so rude and had the worst attitude (Salud). We said Hi and she rolled her eyes. My mom was visiting and so all the kids and grandkids decided to go with grandma to Ross. My mom wanted to use her senior discount. My sister thought it would be nice to pay for her. Salud, instead of nicely stating the policy said "it's a senior discount, not bring your entire family and use your discount day". 10% off is really no big deal. My mom paid for herself after all but not only did she forget to give my mom her discount, she said we had to return everything in order to make the adjustment. $200 worth of stuff. What a waste of time. She ended just returning everything and swore not to come back ever again. Salud must own the place so she doesn't need customers. read more

My family and I visited your store on Montogomery and San Mateo. At 8:46 I tried to have my 11 year old son try on a pair of pants. Alexa (your dressing room attendant) would not allow us to try on the pants saying you close the dressing room at 8:45pm. I did not see a sign posted anywhere stating this and I did not hear an announcement made stating this. Alexa was so rude to myself to my son and my wife that I literally pushed the basket full of clothes and other items we had that we were getting ready to purchase to the side and walked out of your store. I handle marketing for a local television station and I work with clients daily on how to get customers into your store and I know that bad employeeS can have a negative impact on a customer's experience and that is exactly what Alexa does for your store. She is in desperate need of customer service training and training explain to her how her interactions with customers can negatively affect your bottoms line. Not only did I not spend the $150 I probably was going to spend in your store tonight, i walked up the sidewalk to Burlington coat Factory and bought all our stuff there since they didn't close at 9 and they let my son try on his pants. But, the best part is we haven't even hit social media with our experience yet. So soon we will make the rounds on Facebook Instagram and we will tell all our closest "friends" about our experience. We will probably tell a little bit about our experience on Snapchat too. Customer service is huge these days and does not get forgotten very easily. Hello Chad T, This is Alexa. I'm hard of hearing. I don't hear 100% because I have a hearing disability but I'm blessed that I'm able to read people's body language and facial expression. I was told to close the fitting room at 8:45pm. Every employer have rules and we as employees have to follow them. That's exactly what I did that night. Wouldn't you follow the rules from your manager? True, there wasn't a sign posted and they didn't make an announcement that the fitting room was closed. There were 2 announcements one at 8:30pm and second at 8:45pm that we were closing soon. The clothing racks were placed sideways by the fitting room indicating it was closed. When your son approached me at the fitting room I told him we were already closed. Later your wife came to the fitting room and my manager informed her the fitting room was closed. Your wife decided to roll her eyes and gave us an attitude. Your wife and son left the fitting room and told you what had happened. You decided to speak with SPS and informed them that your son need to use the restroom. When you came back to the fitting room with your son you told my manager your son need to go to the restroom. You pushed our clothing racks to the side and told your son to go to the restroom. We noticed your son had the pants with him. You were forcing your son to try on the pants when we have a sign in the men's restroom "No Merchandise Beyond This Point" My manager showed you the sign and told you he couldn't try on the pants in the restroom. But he could go to the restroom. But you decided to argue with her about the security letting your son try on the pants. You lied because our SPS told you and your son he could go to the restroom but not to try on the pants because the fitting room was already closed. Your son looked scared and he walked away from you. He screamed at his mom saying "stop mom, lets go!" We are all adults and their was no need to complain about your experience. Your wife cussed at us and was rude. You were both out of control.
