Holly Hunt - Warehouse

Holly Hunt - Warehouse

The Holly Hunt warehouse has a sample sale once a year. The warehouse is open to the design trade…read moreon a Thursday & Friday, and is then opened to the public on the following Saturday & Sunday (8/26-27 in '06). Be aware that 45th street does not go thru- take 47th to Tripp north to 45th to find the warehouse. Inside the warehouse I was happy to find a pretty decent selection of floor samples, some of which were extremely beat up, and some of which were pristine. Best of all? Trucks were arriving with new samples on the Saturday I was there- so the public gets a shot at some decent stuff after all! The designers couldn't snatch everything up! So the price reductions are very good, but this is expensive furniture, so even at half price it's still expensive to the average consumer. Holly Hunt's reputation for top notch design doesn't come cheap! I found a nice selection of light fixtures, and if you have a use for a single of something normally sold in a set (dining chair, bar stool, etc) you can get a really incredible deal- I found a beautiful chair for which I had no use marked down from $1300 to a hundred bucks! But my favorite part is the discounted fabrics. You'll find some really nice upholstery fabric- $100/yard retail stuff for cheap. A pretty big selection of $20/yard fabrics, a few tables stacked with $10/yard fabric, and even a couple dozen bolts of $5/yard fabric- and none of it was shit! Oh yeah, there's a table of nice leathers too. I have to mention too, they have a huge staff for an event I found to be pretty empty. Everyone was really interested in being helpful- I was amazed! I was impressed by the free valet parking too- I don't know that I've ever been treated so civilized on a bargain hunting trip!
