Go ahead, call five contractors. How many answer their phone? How many even respond? You probably already know how many. 1? 2, maybe? This project was a little annoying because I needed it done immediately. Also, it involved working in conjunction with a separate contractor that was working in the home. I was worried that it'd be hard to find a contractor to complete in time. I felt bad having such an immediate need but I wanted to call Billy first. Billy answered, with tools in his hands, mid job. I explained what I needed. He asked the right questions. We setup a time to meet and like clockwork, he showed up on time. Always friendly. Always informative. Bam! Work scheduled. I left Billy the lockbox code and he estimated his finishing time. I called him around that time to coordinate getting him paid. And, of course, the work was already completed. Not only was the work completed sooner than expected which allowed the entire project to progress faster than expected, but it was done perfectly. Which is a word I rarely use. But from the precision of the work, the cleanliness of the work, coordination with other contractors, quality of products he used...and yes, the value of everything involved...perfect! I'm not sure if I'll ever need contracting services in the Yuba/Sutter area again. But if I do, I'm only making one call. The same call you should make. I can't recommend Billy, his crew and his company enough. Quality work at a great value, performed efficiently and precisely and communicated well. Billywood for the win!!

Due to recent freezing weather, we had a water pipe burst underneath our home. I asked around at…read moreour church, and friends in the area, for someone who could immediately fix the problem. Richard Zahnd, owner of Zink's Remodel was recommended by one person. Richard showed up the same day, and did a quick inspection of the situation. "I can fix this for about $400" he said. I gave approval. Nothing in writing. The next day, he was out with materials and a second person 'helper' and they repaired/replaced about 20-feet of copper tubing, and added insulation for the tubing they replaced. When Richard completed the work, I asked again about the total cost. I told him that I'd been in contact with my home-owner's insurance. He assured me it would be about $400, and that he had submitted an invoice to my insurance company. Imagine my surprise, a week later, when Zink's Remodel showed up at my home, asking for a check, for payment in full. "I called your insurance company, and they said you had been paid for my work..." I asked for a receipt, and the total amount of the bill. He could provide none. No receipt, no proof of any work or materials for the project. I paid him $400 on the spot, and promised to pay or negotiate more based on proof of work. The next day, I contacted my homeowner's insurance, and found that they had approved $648 for the plumbing work. By an amazing coincidence: That turned out to be the exact amount of Zink's Remodel bill, which was finally provided to me on Feb 12. Three weeks after the work was completed. Was the work done well? I have no way to know, it's under my house, and I can't crawl down there... and I'm not qualified to judge the quality of plumbing work if I could. I would be very cautious when using Zink's Remodel. My fault was a 'handshake' deal with an emergency plumbing leak, nothing in writing, and then a huge increase in the bill at the end. Zink's Remodel is CA State Contractor License # 653505

I knew of Diego from church, and saw a comment on a friend's profile that he had an electrician. Bingo! Diego answered immediately and set up a time for just a couple of days from then. Yesterday , they came out and stayed with it( except for leaving to get another part) all day. They finally got it figured out around 5:30 pm. I am so grateful for their quick response and for getting the issue resolved! It was pretty stressful not having electricity in half the house. Diego is great! This unfortunately was not the case with this larger project....paint, new flooring and backsplash and installation of medicine cabinets, lighting and toilet. I provided all materials which I purchased prior to the start of my project which ended up being the first week of January due to the holidays. My biggest problem with Diego was communication. I was never kept updated on delays to workers or himself showing up when promised and always felt that my job was put on the back burner for other customers with larger jobs. The tile man, Jeremy was amazing. He had my floor and backsplash done in a day and a half which included a backsplash in my guest bathroom and the work was beautiful. And then I waited and waited and waited. The painter, Jeff, not so good. He didn't take off any light covers, door pulls or tape anything off. Consequently I had a lot of cleanup as there was paint on many hinges, my shower surround next to the door moulding, the switch covers and door pulls and splatters on my new floor tile. Sloppy and unprofessional work. I talked to Diego and sent pictures on February 5th. He promised to come out in a week as he had become a new father but that's the last I've heard from him and it's the end of March. Diego is very friendly and fun to talk to and he himself does meticulous work. It's the other aspects of his business that definitely need work.
