I called about an ADU addition to our home and they came over and went over our plans for the project. We hired an architect and sent them the plans. Three months later we never heard back from them. I called and they didn't have a bid ready and said we had to start all over and they needed to see the site again. We told them we already waited three months and they didn't even bother to updated us at all. They sent us a quick bid that was much higher than other contractors. The estimate had options we didn't need or ask for. This company has poor communication and wasted our time. No thanks! read more

I was recommended to pioneer engineering by a family friend! They took care of us last summer when our ac went out and got us through the summer! We saved up to have them install mini splits in our home for this up coming summer! Giuseppe came out to our house looked at our rooms recommended what we needed and the rest was history! Quick efficient and most of all kindness of all his staff himself and his workers who installed them in a super timely manner! His workers Chase and Aden were super respectful and polite and worked until the job got done! I really can't believe a company could act so unprofessionally and still stay in business. I guess that just goes to show how high a demand there is for contractors out here. I really needed some work done on the house I bought. The stove was inoperable because it didn't have a fan and the previous owners had installed an enormous microwave so close to the stone burners that you couldn't use them. This was going to involve electrical work, so it isn't work I could do myself. Unfortunately, Pioneer was the company I called. I don't know how you get this guy to do work for you. I really don't. I called up, made an appointment for the work on the stove, and he didn't show up in the window they gave me. He didn't call to tell me he was going to be late; he just didn't show up. He eventually arrived late and we spent over an hour going through the house identifying all kinds of work I needed done. He said he'd get me an estimate. Months passed and nothing. I called up and said, hey, where's that estimate? Oh, I'm sorry, we're really busy, we'll get you by the end of the week. Two weeks go by and nothing. I called back up, and it's oh you didn't get that estimate, I'll get you one. NEVER GOT ONE. I called again, straight to voicemail. He called back and got my voicemail. I called back and left a voicemail and never heard back on all those projects and work I needed done. Fast forward several months later and my generator breaks. I put in a project on yelp and Pioneer responded, so I figured I'd give them another shot. I make an appointment to have him come look at the generator and he doesn't show up during the window he gave me. I had canceled plans and cleared my afternoon so I could have this looked at and he doesn't show up and there's no call, no nothing. This company is so incredibly unprofessional. So, I call up and make another appointment and, again, no call, no show. I don't know what you have to do to get this guy to do work for you. I really don't. I live in the same city this guy does. It's not like I'm in some remote area. It does seem like he does work because there are other glowing reviews out there, but I have tried and tried and all I get is treated like crap. I couldn't use my stove for 6 months in my new house because this guy just kept jerking me around. Don't waste your time with these jokers. read more

These guys have visited our place twice because our AC hasn't been working properly. The first time they said they fixed it. As soon as the heat waves hit this past month our PG&E bill jumped up to $600 dollars and it seemed pretty obvious the AC still wasn't working as intended. Our landlord called them back and they showed up a full day after they said they would be here. Their solution was to spray water with a spray bottle onto our unit and said there was nothing else they could do. They clearly do not have engineering experience or the skills to fix AC units. They absolutely did service our ac unit twice and the below comment is in an attempt to discredit my review of their business practices. read more

The AC had stopped working and I tried to figure the problem out myself before finding Pioneer and requesting a quote. They were very quick and responsive and gave me a number to call. The same day I called, Giuseppe told me he was working another job and kept me updated and actually came by despite it being around 5pm at the time. I explained to Giuseppe the problem we were having with the AC and he explained to me why it had stopped working, showed me the broken piece of machinery and how to maintain and keep the AC unit clean. One caveat to the conversation, I am deaf and Giuseppe did his best to facilitate clear and understandable communication between both of us on top of being very informative and helpful. I truly appreciate Giuseppe and his business, he did everything he could to make me feel like I wasn't just another customer, kept me involved in the process while he was repairing the unit and even double checked the next day to ensure that the AC unit was working fine. It is now 7pm and they have not arrived nor have they called to reschedule. They have not responded to messages. I was hoping for better. They had great reviews. We have been waiting for 14 months to finish our home after a sketchy general contractor walked out on the job and defrauded our insurance company. We are finally able to finish the house and we really want to move in. We've been waiting 5 years to rebuild after the fire. We can't deal with contractors ghosting us like this. I didn't believe service like I received yesterday was even possible in today's world. I had a bit of an emergency situation involving my electrical box and possibly my air conditioning. Giuseppe was recommended by another contractor. He made the time to come to our home after hours the same day I contacted him. He made sure that we could use our air conditioning and made some vital adjustments in our breaker box. All in all he was at our home for a couple of hours, mind you after completing his regular work day!! He was so friendly, professional, knowledgeable and personable. A shoutout to Pioneer Engineering! My A/C went out in late July and after having two local A/C companies out to solve the problem, I still had no A/C in late august even though I had spent $1600 in their attempts (mainly only adding refrigerant without bothering to check for a leak). Next, I called Pioneer to take a look. Their technicians found the problem immediately and had my A/C back in operation by early September. Pioneer's technicians were courteous and efficient. I will never call anyone but Pioneer for any future problems. Apparently, Pioneer also does electrical and plumbing work. Sounds like you only need one contact number to solve all of your repair needs!! read more

Hi I recently called them with an AC problem of short cycling in my house. I'm pretty handy but I couldn't figure it out. Giseppi is the man's name I believe,and I apologize if I spelled his name wrong. But not only did he come over and fix the problem. He then proceeded to show me how to properly maintain and Clean everything. And checked every component of my whole AC to make sure I would not have problems in the future. He has many certifications and I will be calling in the future for any household problems I can fix myself. Weather it be plumbing, electrical and what have you. Another contractor hired by the insurance company came out and removed all the damaged Sheetrock and mold . Then they disappeared !! After numerous attempts to contact them over several months they returned with another quote that was astronomical to finish the job - I suggested he call Giuseppe at Pioneer Engineering and Construction- Giuseppe Was able to come out within a few days and assess the situation . They did an excellent job installing my LG mini-split system with 4-heads. They poured a cement pad, trenched and ran the line-sets & power in very rocky ground, mounted the head units, got everything tested and it works great! This was the first year they came out and cleaned the coils and head units to keep the system running well. I can't say enough about this company. They worked on my Air Conditioner and plumbing in the last Months and helped prepare the upstairs unit for a new renter. Giuseppe and his son were always great, and Diego was maybe the best worker I've ever dealt with in construction/home repair (that's saying a lot since my family has been in construction in Paradise forever) he was so responsive, had the answers to all my questions and explained everything fully as they did it. As a single mom it's always scary to let workers you don't know in but I was nothing but completely comfortable with every single one of them.
