We stayed from Friday to Saturday and here are some more tips about the town. -It's a small town so it was easy to park anywhere we wanted. The weekend we went was also the same time as Pinatafest and the National Air Races and even with these two events it was still easy to find parking. -Some of the streets off of Main street are worth exploring, you'll find remnants of the old cattle-town history. Our favorite was a giant silo that looked so good on a clear day. -I'm sure the locals are SO sick of alien questions and jokes and we met awesome people and got great responses when asking about more general advice like the best place to drink at and where we could get fry bread. -Eddie Macias is a local artist and you will see his murals and paintings throughout the town.

It has been raining and the city has a really poor drainage system. With small amts of rain in bursts it causes Main Street to basically be under water as well as many of the side street. Making it hard to do anything outside and a lot of the stuff is outside. Plenty of decent restaurants and a lot of alien decor and motif.

Pieces of the art are broken off and completely destroyed. Your city was given a gift by an artist, and none of you honored his work. You seem to have no pride in your city or the earth. No recycling options are in place, and the LITTER is spewed everywhere! Everywhere a person looks there is garbage. I guess your community/church members are just looking so forward to going to heaven that they treat Roswell as some crappy, short term, rental property.

Holy mackerel, it's hot in New Mexico (that's not news) and while waiting for dark, this was a fantastic stop. The library is quite large and there's lots of seating. Of course, tons of fiction, non-fiction, reference, periodicals, children's, young adults and media. I found a desk with power outlets and windows that was quite comfortable. Located in a public park (originally known as Iron Cross Park, now it's POW/MIA Park), this artwork…read morewas built by German prisoners of war who were interred here in Roswell during World War II. As part of a flood control program, the city paved the banks of the Spring River with local stones. It was during that project that a number of the prisoners cleverly arranged the rocks here in the outline shape of the German Empire's Iron Cross. You absolutely can't miss it and so when the townspeople noticed, the artwork was covered in concrete. In the 60+ years since then, the water has peeled away the concrete and the artwork is now uncovered. A testament to soldiers who were captured and I hope interred here in New Mexico humanely. The Roswell Rocket is on display in Pioneer Park located on Main Street in Rowell. It's a great…read morephoto op spot and has a sitting area and grassy park where you can stop and take a break. Nothing fancy, just a cool item to look at.
