The day we went to pick it up, Dave wouldn't give it to me. He cursed at me, he threatened to trash my receiver; I called the police while standing in the shop. My wife has the video. We turned to leave the shop without argument. He followed, screaming obscenities in my ear. When we reached the sidewalk, he assaulted my wife, grabbing her phone and running back into the shop. I pinned him against the wall and we got the phone back. Police were not available. Three days later, two officers came on a "keep the peace" call and were able to get my receiver back. I'm the second reviewer to have called for police assistance. I wish there was an option for zero stars.

I had the same problem after getting the SAE's back from Dave ! I then took both pieces of equipment to a reputable shop ( which charged me a $ 20 deposit ) .They told me there was no problem with the equipment . In fact , I discovered the problem myself by using an integrated amp that I had in storage .One of the interconnect cables had a loose connection. I replaced it and the system worked perfectly . 2) The amount paid was well in excess of the final receipt that I got from him. 3) I was never informed when the " deposit " ( $ 316.40 ) was used up. I should have been asked if I wanted to proceed with the repair . It turned out to cost more than the equipment was worth in the end . ( Oh , the other repair shop soldered the interconnect for me at no charge and did not charge me anymore , other the the original $ 20. ! 4) Almost a total lack of communication . What could I do since he had the equipment ? 5) The " free " pick up and delivery is a joke . It is simply built into the original inflated deposit . ( see # 3 above ) Alan.

Unfortunately, over the course of one month of back-and-forth questions and answers to and from the owners and/or representatives of Vinyl Sound, this is most definitely a one-star review. Highly surprising from a hi-fi/audiophile retailer, as I've only had one other negative experience in my entire life from a different retailer. My requests were seemingly simple: 1) bearing oil for my Transrotor ZET 3.1 turntable; 2) replacement belts for the turntable, and; 3) a request regarding the possibility of making a cover for my turntable. Over a 29-day period, here is the breakdown, in number of days, of their response times to my various e-mail requests: 1, 5, 8, 0, 0, and finally, after waiting 14 days for a reply, I sent a final e-mail requesting an update but have yet to receive an answer. It's now 22 days without a reply at the time of this review. There are many other dealers to choose from. Select another that's not Vinyl Sound and likely be much more satisfied.

First of all, Aaron picked up the phone and called me within two hours of my inquiry, whereas other companies just sent me back messy, unprofessional emails. Aaron and I talked for a bit, I told him what I was looking for, he tempered my expectations (politely, I might add!) and he told me what kinds of services were available and what he would recommend. He sent me over a contract very promptly and it was very easy to make the decision to choose Impact. Out of the gate, I knew that if we went with Impact, we would be in very good hands. Aaron wasn't hesitant to call me so that we could discuss details and pricing on the phone; he went so far as to call me to verify all of the details we had discussed over phone calls and emails just to make sure he had everything down right. As the day got closer, there were some details that I just hadn't had time to finalize. Aaron called me to gently remind me that he needed them and in the end, we chatted on the phone and figured it all out in 10 minutes! He was able to provide appropriate music recommendations for the various parts of our ceremony and reception and basically helped me finish all those last minute choices. We didn't have an MC and I wanted a DJ that would be able to handle that piece of the day and Aaron NAILED it. People thought that he was a close personal friend, that's how good of an MC he is! He kept the momentum going throughout the night and kept in touch with me as things changed or if we had any hiccups. We can't say enough great about Aaron - our guests are still raving about the dance floor (we ended up having TWO dance floors because people were having so much fun dancing) and how great the music was.
