The decor is warm and inviting and I was easily welcomed in. While the menu was not in English, the waitress kindly offered to help translate and one of the chefs, who had come out from the kitchen to speak to another patron, also helped describe some of the menu items. The food was delicious, authentic and not too heavy. I was first brought out a small sample of potato soup and a fried fish fritter which were delicious and compliments of the house! I then started with the quiche Lorraine accompanied by salad. Each were fresh and delicious. My main course was the wienerschnitzel which I had heard the chefs pounding in the kitchen to prepare. It was crispy, light and flavorful. The restaurant was filled with locals so I knew it had to be a good spot when I went in and I was proven correct. Definitely a tavern feel with old-timey knick knacks all over. This seemed as authentic as it gets! We were seated at a communal table with other parties. We ordered the local cider (okay, not our favorite but we tried it) and the local Hessian versions of their wiener schnitzel (with an herb sauce) and bratwurst (with Hessian cheese). Both hit the spot for the type of German food we wanted to have. We could have paid with cash but paid with a card instead to save our euros for later. Definitely recommended.
