After talking about the job and what I wanted, I ended up with 3 different quotes from Alvin - the initial small project, and two extensions on it so that I could look at various price points for what I wanted. The quotes were very fair and, after talking with my wife, we went with the largest. This included removing an old, small patio and pouring a larger one as well as fixing some holes in our brick house. Alvin was great - he and his crew came out when they said they would. They kept the site clean. They took care determining the slope for water runoff and they poured a great looking deck. Afterwards, he cleaned up.
