With a little direction from our smartphone apps, we were very happy to find Au Temps Perdu (at the top of many stairs up from the river), and glad that they could accommodate our group on a Friday night. We are not native French speakers, and this is not a typical tourist restaurant. It seemed that the other patrons were locals, which, as tourists, we enjoyed. We figured out the menu with the translation help of the waiter and also with some language help and recommendations from a group of friendly, welcoming locals at a neighboring table. We really enjoyed the meal and experience. The cost was very reasonable for the delicious, hearty meal. They also did a good job providing a delicious off-menu meal for our vegetarian friends. The only negative was the cigarette smoke from others in the restaurant ... but alas, we are in France. We will return next time we visit Lyon.
