Carolyn helped us get that done super quick, and she was very pleasant and friendly. The membership was free and all that was required was a photo I'd proving our Texas residence. They had a good number of computers available, and each document cost 25 cents to print. I didn't explore much, but from where we were sitting but I could see a good size kids library area, several private rooms for studying or media use. They aren't huge as far as book selection, but they had a lot to choose from. They also have a DVD section and an audiobook section. Also there is a nice looking covered porch area with tables and chairs. It would be nice to sit out there during cooler weather.

They have a good sized children's books section which is highlighted by a very large doll collection. You can't miss it! Apparently the doll collection was donated to the library and features a lot over very interesting and different dolls. We were only there for the children's books on this trip, but the staff seemed very nice and helpful. I'm sure we'll be back again.

We were visiting with a large group and strolled around here for almost an hour. I loved the different sections and high ceilings. It appears the shop may have a few cats that roam around during the weekdays and am dying to come back to say hello! A great way to support local on your next drive between Austin and Houston, or simply if in the neighborhood! The entire strip is really cute with a variety of shops, art, food, and live music.

It was renovated a few years back, creating a lasting sense of newness in the building. Most books are labeled by genre in their respective sections. Staff is super friendly and always helpful. Plenty of areas for studying and privacy. The public computers are easily accessible. Beautiful library cards that are redesigned each year. Definitely the perfect place to expand your mental bookshelf or rediscovering your lost love of reading.

In addition to a 25-minute video production about the life of President George H.W. Bush (during which I shed a tear), there are more artifacts here than you can shake a stick at. The guides are quite friendly and knowledgeable, and they are prepared to answer questions. During my visit, there were several original artifacts on display, including FDR's speech on Dec. 8, 1941, and Elvis Presley's original enlistment documents. But those are traveling exhibits. There is plenty of Bush family memoriblia to quench your thirst for some up-close history.

I was in College Station over the weekend for a Texas A&M Class of 1980 Reunion, and part of the agenda was paying this place a visit. The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library complex, located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, includes the Presidential Library and Museum, the Bush School of Government and Public Service, and the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center. My visit included the main Museum, a separate building holding the very cool Union Pacific 4141 Engine and the Marine One Helicopter, and the graves of President Bush, his Wife Barbara, and their Daughter Robin. The later involves a pretty walk around a scenic pond (and rose garden area) and onwards to a gated plot within a quiet woodsy area. If Gayle is reading this, of course I also took a look through the gift shop at the end of my visit. I found the main museum to be nicely curated, in chronological order, and with lots of interesting things to learn and remember. I found that I needed at least a couple passes through to help layer my visit. Of particular note (besides the 4141 and Marine One) were exhibits noting the fall of the Berlin Wall, Camp David, the family boat (Fidelity), and the car that the Bush family drove out to Texas for the first time. There was also a special (and worth visiting) exhibit when I was there Music America: Iconic Objects From America's Music History. Also, please don't miss the 22 minute orientation video when you first start in. I found that it really helped set the stage for what was to come at this museum.

Came here for an event on the fifth "May the Sith be with…read moreyou" We had a lot of fun and were thankful that the Library did this. There were a lot of kids out and they had a blast interacting with those who came in Star Wars cosplay. The vibe was safe and fun, and the children learned to wield lightsabers (along with learning a little discipline too!). There were food and snacks, and other cool activities. This was a great experience. The Library staff was polite and very helpful and the facilities were clean and organized. Thank you for hosting this event!

However don't be deceived by the size, they share…read morethe building with the activities center and a good chunk of the library is dedicated to children. I've found that they have a small Non-Fiction section, not much on American History, about one book on Wine, and nothing on Law. But by the looks of things they're really catering to the local community, I'm just used to extensive departments since I'm a book worm. They have several computers and each time I've gone I haven't had to wait. They have one printer that charges 10 cents a page (exact change only). You cannot renew material online which limits you to calling during business hours or going in person to the front desk. You can also only renew once. Another downside is that there is no drop box outside the library, not even in the lobby of the building.

I love our library! Despite being an older building, it is very well maintained and feels like a…read morenew structure. It offers a special teen section where anyone can peruse for a book, but only teens can sit and enjoy the dimmed and subdued atmosphere. This is quite the opposite for the bright and open children's section with a massive offering of books for the littles, ages 0 and up. Board books, picture books, short bed time stories, classic fairy tales, and the longer fare you might remember from elementary and middle school. Also with on this section, you will find a large meeting space for groups and readings, and a smaller play room you can book for play dates or just to get your gaggle of kids out of the house. They also sponsor the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program as a push to promote parent involvement in their kids' early literacy. I haven't used the facility's other meeting rooms and study carousels, but they have much to offer the community.

There are meeting rooms you can use. There are games on the shelves that you can play. They offer classes on a variety of subjects! I saw one on bicycle maintenance! They even have a 3D printer you can send them a file for and they will print it! There is the cutest cafe and a gift shop! The best part of all is the rooftop patio! You can grab that coffee, grab a book and hang out and take in the gorgeous views of the lake! I love it and can't wait to go back!
